I've recently got an HTC Desire and although sceptical about the Android platorm I have been very impressed with how intuitive it is and managed to work out where most things were pretty quickly.
I am struggling to personalise the SMS/Email tones to indicate a new message. Also, I can't find how to personalise the alarm clock tone. is there an app available to allow me to personalise these tones?
i cvould do it on my desire thgrough ringdroid but cant seem to do it now
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm writing about my X8 that I've upgraded from Android 1.6 (Donut) to Android 2.1 (Eclair) between yesterday and today. I regret that with the upgrade a lot of "alarm tones" are gone, including one in particular which is so cool, I can't remember the name but that begins with "multi" - it's a combination of more tones (drin, chicken, bell, etc.).
I did a regular backup rand restore but I don't think those wake-up tones are normally backed up or considered in the backup process. I'm asking you what I can do to have back what I had but seems to have been lost with the upgrade. Now the mobile phone's alarm ringtones available are very few and I think a upgrades should add, not remove.
Can't we choose our own alarm tones rather than their pre fixed tones. There's collection is so stupid. Only helium seems to be some what bearable.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsince the update to Sense 3.0, my alarm cannot be snoozed anymore.I go to sleep, alarm goes off, and i get 2 options: snooze or cancel. (dont know exact options in English, got other language). I choose snooze, for 10minutes, I have this options enabled. and I see the Snooze screen for 2 seconds, and then it disappears.The clock is also not in upper bar on phone screen, its just cancelled. When I want to reproduce this problem, I try this when the phone is on, not on standby, it works!! I get the snooze screen. But when im asleep the phone is ofcourse on standby modus, or at least the display is off. Then it doenst work.

when I first got my Desire that entering an event in the calendar did not allow me to also add an alarm to that event; the most common thing I do in the calendar is to add various events at all different dates/times, say enter an appointment in three weeks time at 15:00 and set an alarm for 13:00 on that day.The stock calendar does not allow the alarm. I have work arounds for this problem but what is the likelyhood that HTC will build that in? Surely any electronic calendar worth its name should have that facility as standard?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone got updated to 2.3.5 and sense UI 3 yesterday and I face this problem where I'd be listening to music, playing games and hearing the phone ring when suddenly it would go dumb and I can't hear anything. This happens with no error message or notification. The phone think it's playing media and allows me to adjust the media volume but there's no sound (speaker or earphones). I have to restart the phone every time this happens but the problem keeps happening randomly.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk I have noticed that on the Torch the text tone is the same for everyone even if you assign a ringtone and tone for message for a contact. Before on the 9700 when you received a text, e-mail whatever tone was assigned to that contact came through. I guess that feature is gone.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I edit a contact to assign it a ringtone or text tone, I get a different list than the sounds in the Notification center. It shows far fewer ringtones, and it doesn't even show me any text tones.

This is what I see when I edit a contact. Not only does it look like crap, it doesn't even contain any text tones when I select "+Text tone":
The two lists are different! Why I can't pick the same sounds for contacts?
Is there a way to add personalized tones for the stock messanger? I know how to do ring tones but they do not work for texts. If there is no way is there a different app to use?

I recently installed the new OS (.607) for the Storm 2 9550 (Verizon) using DM. Everything seemed to go over well; didn't backup my contacts and lost BBM contacts (i didn't think to back them up, Whoops :x ) Anyway, i had SMS alert tones for specific contacts which i had edited while adding the contacts when i first got the phone, back in October/November. When a said person texted/called, the tone that i assigned worked like a charm. Fast Forward to a few days ago (whenever .607 was officially released), i was re-adding my contacts (thank god i still have my old LG Dare), and putting in the custom tones for the specific people like i had before (the ringtones are saved on my 16gig memory card) and i noticed that when one of them called, the tone works as it should. However, when i get a SMS from them, it plays the default SMS tone (which is also custom). The same thing happens with MMS messages as well. Any ideas as to why the default tone plays instead of the custom one i specified? (I tried taking out the "-" in the phone #, since when i enter them in my contacts, i enter the number like so: (XXX)XXX-XXXX) but when i do that, the SMS shows up in my BBM chats with the BBM alert (was a suggestion i found while Googling the issue).

I'm new to the HTC/Android family. Just moved from the iPhone (good riddance) and I'm in love with my Desire. However, I find that the Desire organizes text messages in a weird way where the recipient and sender messages don't follow one after another rather it puts all the recipient responses on the top half of the screen and the sender at the bottom. Does anyone know how to change this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Desire Z for a couple months now and noticed that the wrong messages were disappearing when I deleted some. Yesterday I did it very carefully and slowly and caught the problem happening. Here is what I did.
There were 2 messages.
I held my finger on the first one
I selected Delete
I clicked the button to delete "locked" messages
I let go and the first message was still there but the 2nd one (from someone else) had gone!
