I have a w890i and the sound tones have gone on incoming, messeges and alarm. Works fine on all other sound functions. I am fond of this phone (second one).
View 1 RepliesI have a w890i "lmao" and its giving me the worst time om my life, it almost always has a "Emergincy Call's Onley" display or "No Networks" its driveing me crazy i have to pysicaly go search for a network for this phone to find one, Where other phones normaly would have signal, and it displays 4 bars of signal and isnt the phone sepose to pickup signal automaticaly. I tryd every thing phone update to reinstall phone software and then again phone update but it always say's your phone already have the latest software.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a w890i locked to the Three network, and unlocked/debranded it using Omnius. I've done this before lots of times, so I know I didn't make a mistake. I have all the right drivers installed and I followed the instructions to the letter.However, when I finished, I noticed that I was getting an "invalid Sim" message. I tried unlocking it again but it didn't help - it said it was already unlocked. I checked the lock status using left,left and sure enough, it is unlocked. So just to rule out a problem with the sim, I tried a few different sims that I had lying around. The Three sim that came with the phone didn't work, and neither did the O2 or Vodafone sims that I tried. but an old Virgin Mobile sim worked perfectly. So what's the problem and how do I fix it. It's possible the problem was already there before I unlocked/debranded the phone but I never checked since I'm not on the Three network.I thought it might be a problem with the CDFS. I backed-up the TA and CDFS from another w890i as a precaution (like I say, this isn't my first time) but I never backed this one up beforehand believing that I could just use the TA and CDFS extracted from the earlier phone. However, now I've read that the CDFS is unique to each phone, so I'm wondering what I should do. What will happen if I try to restore the TA/CDFS from another phone? To be honest, I don't really understand anything about them.I've tried re-flashing the firmware, too. It didn't help. And there's nothing wrong with the firmware - I've used it before. I know I could get the original firmware back by uploading the old CDA and connecting to the SEUS, but would that really help at all?I'm a bit of a novice, in way over my head here.

Every time i attempt a connection i am prompted to choose a data account to use to connect. Regardless of which data account i pick (T-Mobile Internet, Picture message or SEMC GPRS) I recieve the message - Data account doesn't exist. Check your settings.I have attempted to download the settings using the Setup wizard with no success - could not download settings. try again from the settings menu.Please advise how i can correct this as i mainly use my mobile for browsing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMY w890i camera stopped functioning normally in June. I didn't really need a camera so I just assumed I had goofed something up & didn't pay much attention to it. Now my real camera is in the repair shop & I set about figuring out what I goofed with my camera phone and can find nothing. I have it set to save to memory card. there's a 2GB card in there that has very little space used on it (less than 500mb) but when I open the camera function and take a picture it does one of two things: a) makes the shutter noise indicating a picture was taken, then the screen turns gray,the word "saving" appears in the middle and then the screen goes back to the ability to take a picture or b) i hear the shutter noise indicating a picture was taken & then the screen goes back to the menu. When the camera was working properly i would hear the shutter noise, get a gray screen with the word "saving" in the middle and then the picture would display on the screen until i pressed a button. Anyway, I hooked it up to the computer & it downloaded an upgrade, that didn't help, I re-set factory defaults, that didn't help, and finally I plugged the phone into the SE PC Suite & ran "phone repair" that too did not help. I haven't seen any similar complaints on any of the forums I've checked so I'd like to get some advice on what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hands free works fine, speaker phone works fine. It is only the actual phone that is totally off? Any thoughts? Might be an easy solution that I have missed but right now im stuck.

View 1 Replies View Relatedfor some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this.What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle!You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! I have followed the guide on this site (menu>settings>sound&alerts>ringtones) and this brings me to a music folder containing 2 folders (ringtones & my radio recs) but no mp3s. Most phones allow you silence the ringer so the incoming call continues and you can still choose to answer it or leave it to go to through to the answer phone. Is that possible on this phone? When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why.This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work.
