Sony Ericsson :: W995a How Do You Stop Of All Incoming Data

Can someone tell me how to turn of/disable all my incoming data connections? When im at home in Australia, my phone connects to my own phone provider and the data which is only the current news and sport headlines comes in free of charge. I am currently overseas and it seems to be still connecting back to Oz to update all the news/sports headlines. Nice to see a bill fo $480 for 1 month compared to the $30 i usually pay. How do i stop this **** from happening? oh btw my phone is the W995a.
I'm having Issue browsing web or using web apps on wifi with w995a The following settings have been config'd: -flight mode on to stop default search on mobile network -network sharing turned on, because i saw it on another thread, not cuz i think it will change anything but it couldnt hurt -Intnernet settings; have created bogus account using PS DATA method, however im unsure what this is; yes 4allow local connection; have also tried this using default connection method. -streaming settings; on default planet 3; yes for local connections -SIP settings; unsure, left as default., is it worth putting router gateway proxy server? -wifi settings open ntw, full bars strength, have tried using router gwty in the dns settings with no joy I brag about how much better the w995 is then then iphone 3 & below, but now with all the frakn effort ive put into trying to set this baby up.im starting to wonder. im inclined to think this is a conflict issue between network settings & wifi, along with the web apps msgr & facebook not being compatible with wifi use, rather then an internet settings issue, as all the other iphone users & andriod users here are rubbing in how easy it is on there phone.
I have three problems with my W995a:1) When I'm texting, the backlight keeps changing how bright it is, when I'm texting it will sometimes go quite dark then other times quite bright (not a major issue)2) When I was calling someone, the phone just turned off and I lost the call, I rung the person back, then shortly after connecting the call, they couldn't hear me so I hung up and rang again. Shortly after ringing again, the phone turned off again.3) And finally - my biggest problem right now, is that I just bought a USB cord to connect it to my computer, yet when I do, it keeps on disconnecting from my computer then reconnecting (even though it's plugged in). This makes it impossible to do anything with it.
a couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.
Just wondering how I silence an incoming call on the C903? I know I can press the hang up button but this immediately sends a busy signal to the person calling. Most phones allow you silence the ringer so the incoming call continues and you can still choose to answer it or leave it to go to through to the answer phone. Is that possible on this phone? I've search the manual and can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a Sony Ericsson Aino(u10i) handset. It has the following problem:-Touchscreen goes blank during an incoming call. hence i have to slide open to answer the call. but otherwise other media functions on touchscreen works. I also have the latest software update on my phone. Kindly let me know what could be the problem.
Yesterday I found out that my phone does not ring when there's an incoming call although it's not in silent mode. I have checked everything I know and set the ring volume to max.
Incoming call numbers displayed as unknown even it is stored in contacts. but for outgoing call the names and number are displayed what is the cause for it?
My satio is not displaying any name or number during an incoming call.it display as '"call" calling'.even for the saved contact number also.if i go check in the call log list it display as "no number".I am not able to make out who is calling, atleast it should display the number for new incoming numbers , for saved contacts and for new unsaved numbers its displaying same thing "call", its gone crazy.please anyone help me to solve this problem.
I have problem with my SE Zylo (W20i). I have no sound on incoming call.I cant hear the one calling me. They can hear me though . Hands free works fine, speaker phone works fine. It is only the actual phone that is totally off? Any thoughts? Might be an easy solution that I have missed but right now im stuck.
I wanna ask about my C510. It didn't vibrate when message come. I'm using service test, all of them work except vibrating alert. Is there something about hardware or maybe firmware?
C902 has just randomly started not receiving any texts? And sometimes have to keep trying to send texts, can receive and make phone calls, and send texts. Would this be to do with the service centre number? Also when charge phone, a message comes up saying "stop charging phone, stop using phone?"
My SE C902 is experiencing serious error, stop charging, stop using my phone and contact a sony ericsson call center. i don't know whats happening, wat should i do? my phone is not charging as well
I have a w890i and the sound tones have gone on incoming, messeges and alarm. Works fine on all other sound functions. I am fond of this phone (second one).
My C902 has given me a Serious Error message as follows: Serious error. Stop Charging. Stop using your phone and contact a Sony Ericsson call centre. What is this? I have had issues with sending and receiving my texts which 02 say are not network related could this be the reason why?
I've had my Hazel since May, and it's been nothing but great so far Until recently I noticed that the video recording function has been acting a little weird. It stops recording by itself after about 55 seconds, and it's getting really annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this? Oh, and I dropped the phone twice a few weeks back but i don't think that should impact anything. Everything else is working just fine.
When ever i open the slide of the cell,the front speaker to listen to call,and the two keys stop working, and when i close the slide,they again start working.has anyone faced this problem?i have tried to update the software,but it says ur software is already updated.
I am using w995. how can i lock(with password) the particular folder like messages or photos.And how can i stop recieving calls from specific person(number) who is disturbing me or simply how can i blacklist the numbers.
I have a C510. I've accessed all my Hot mail accounts successfully for about 6 months - but now it's suddenly stopped accessing Hot mail. Apart from calls, email is the thing I most use the phone for! When I click 'MSN Mail'(or try to access Hot mail through Google), the connect bar remains empty (no increasing green line). and the circle of 'connect dots' just goes around and round. It will not connect to Hot mail. No message giving a reason why. I haven't changed any settings so I've no idea why I cannot access Hot mail anymore.
I need to be to get the Zylo up and running. Big thanks to Jay in Customer services. I am about to purchase a DCU 60 data cable and want the genuine article so I looked at the SE site. Has anyone bought a DCU 60 via the internet?
Lastly, this Zylo of mine has one feature that drives me nuts. Despite me trying everything, unless I keep pressing keys, the screen goes blank after around 10 secs. It is an absolute pain when I am browsing or reading/sending texts or e-mails.
My wife has just purchased an Elm as an upgrade to her aging (and slightly battered) K800i. Is there a way to track data usage on it - she only has a restricted amount of data allocation and would like to make sure she doesn't go over it.
What are the differences between the DCU 60 and DCU 65 cables? They work in a similar manner and I notice no other differences, but, I know the DCU 60 is grey and the DCU 65 is black?
There were some posts saying that you can get your GPS to work correctly if you "purge GPS data". I did the purge, powered down the phone 5 minutes and restarted. No result. I saw some others that say you have to reinstall the firmware. I think that if a Phone is sold claiming there is a GPS inside, it should work! To my understanding, what is needed is a complete instruction on how to make the GPS work. Furthermore it would be interesting to have a clear description on how to set parameters, what they mean, how to display satellites, etc.
I got my Elm in June and to start with it was fine. There was the occasional moment where I almost had a heart attack when it wouldn't charge straight away but other than that there were no problems. A few months later, an update came out which I immediately installed on my phone. After the update, the home screen would no longer show my calendar, Facebook etc. (the widgets) and I discovered that other elm users were having the same problem after the update so I wasn't too worried by it.
However, I went to charge my phone one day (it still had 20% battery) and plugged it in using a Sony Ericsson wall charger and it did not respond, not even after several hours of waiting. The charger was definitely plugged in, turned on and correctly connected to my phone yet nothing happened. I turned my phone off and on again, still nothing, even when I used different wall chargers. I tried using the USB cable and plugging it in to my laptop and luckily it responded. However, it is very inconvenient to have to plug it in to my laptop every day and it charges painfully slowly. Is anyone else having this problem and can I do anything to fix it?The other problem I am having is that the Elm is using data (which I am being charged ridiculous amounts for) on its own.
I occasionally check my phone to make sure I don't have any missed calls or texts and within the last couple of months, I have noticed that sometimes the Mobile Internet globe is visible in the top corner of the screen and I have no idea why. I haven't done anything different to the settings yet I am being charged maybe £10 a month for data and I don't know what it is being used for or why and when it is activated. My phone is always on lock in my pocket so there is no way that I could be pressing any buttons by mistake and I have made sure that no applications are running. I have tried to keep Wi-Fi on in an attempt to stop the automatic connection to the mobile network but it just runs the battery down immediately and does not stop the data being charged to my account.
I am trying to use vivaz pro as a dial in modem. The is few functions which do not work. I have contacted support of the software I am using and they told me : "This can be done but only though having circuit switched data activated on your phone." is the is a option in Vivaz to do that ?
I've had my w760a debranded (formerly AT&T) for a while now with no problems. This weekend the battery ran down, and every since I have not been able to save my internet settings. I select "Connect using:" and select "MEdia Net", but when I save, it does not retain the data account. Anybody know what I might be able to do?
