HTC Desire :: Alarm Won't Shut Down - Cannot Be Turned Off
Jan 29, 2011
I have one problem with my desire. Problem is - if I activate alarm and in the meantime I've got sms or any other notification (missed call,...), when alarm starts, it can't be turned off. I need to turn off phone or activate alarm on one minute ahead, and wait to turn off. I have android 2.2 on my desire
since the update to Sense 3.0, my alarm cannot be snoozed anymore.I go to sleep, alarm goes off, and i get 2 options: snooze or cancel. (dont know exact options in English, got other language). I choose snooze, for 10minutes, I have this options enabled. and I see the Snooze screen for 2 seconds, and then it disappears. The clock is also not in upper bar on phone screen, its just cancelled. When I want to reproduce this problem, I try this when the phone is on, not on standby, it works!! I get the snooze screen. But when im asleep the phone is ofcourse on standby modus, or at least the display is off. Then it doenst work.
Android 2.3.5 HTC Sense 3.0 Software nr: 3.13.161.3
when I first got my Desire that entering an event in the calendar did not allow me to also add an alarm to that event; the most common thing I do in the calendar is to add various events at all different dates/times, say enter an appointment in three weeks time at 15:00 and set an alarm for 13:00 on that day.The stock calendar does not allow the alarm. I have work arounds for this problem but what is the likelyhood that HTC will build that in? Surely any electronic calendar worth its name should have that facility as standard?
My iPhone 4S screen turned blue then shut off. it wouldn't turn back on but I felt hot to touch. it turned on about 2 hours at 8:00 A.M. and but it won't receive signal. it is now 6:31 P.M. and still no change. I get signal for a short time when it it connected to the wall charger but not when it's unplugged. is this a battery issue or antenna issue?
Just recently when my alarm goes off in the morning there are times when no matter what I do, it won't shut off. The only thing to do is shut the phone down and reboot.
I've recently got an HTC Desire and although sceptical about the Android platorm I have been very impressed with how intuitive it is and managed to work out where most things were pretty quickly.
I am struggling to personalise the SMS/Email tones to indicate a new message. Also, I can't find how to personalise the alarm clock tone. is there an app available to allow me to personalise these tones?
My phone got updated to 2.3.5 and sense UI 3 yesterday and I face this problem where I'd be listening to music, playing games and hearing the phone ring when suddenly it would go dumb and I can't hear anything. This happens with no error message or notification. The phone think it's playing media and allows me to adjust the media volume but there's no sound (speaker or earphones). I have to restart the phone every time this happens but the problem keeps happening randomly.
Is there a way to get the alarm clock to work when my phone is turned off. Or do I need to download a different alarm app to do this. I am using the alarm clock that came on the phone.
Part of the screen on my HTC Desire has turned pink. It is in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like a semi-cicle (shown in the image). Has anyone else had this issue or know what is wrong? I am not sure whether I have an AMOLED or SLCD version of the phone screen.
I've recently upgraded my Bold 9000 software device software from v4.6 to v5. Everything work excellent EXCEPT from the Clock-Alarm Sound !!. When my hand-held is Activated, it works according to my relative settings. The problem is when I've set a Clock-Alarm time and turned my handhold OFF. When the time comes, the handheld wakes-up (as it should normally do), displays the dialog form regarding the snooze or the alarm termination but there's NO SOUND AT ALL !!. I've searched the community for regarding problems and I've tried to apply to my handheld every potential suggestion like: 1). usage of a build-in simple sound 2). a sound file stored on my handheld's device memory and not onto an external card 3). battery correct physical enforcement 4) and of course, many-many baterry pool outs (for hard reset) !! Unfortunately nothing worked !! Because i use my handheld as my main (only) wake-up alarm in the morning, I tried to make the following test: 1). Selected the "No Sound" profile (I don't want an accidental call to wake me up after midnight..).....
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
It seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
Lumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown - Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility
I have HTC Desire. I had some videos and pictures in my mobile. I never deleted them from my mobile, I just transferred them to my PC and with transfer they disappear. I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.
The HTC desire and HT Sync work well with Contacts, Photos and Calendar. But with documents, the synchronisation appears to be from the PC to the Desire and not the other way round. Thus it appears to copy rather than synchronise.
On my PC and Galaxy Tab 10.1, when connected to my home router, I get about 1.5 mbps for my download speed. On the HTC I get less than 500 kbps. Anyone any ideas on how I can improve the download speed on the Desire, or is this the speed which it is supposed to operate at?
I sometimes experience heavy echo.Often, it's when I call my mom's verizon land-line; her cordless phone is connected to a medical alert "fallen-can't-get-up" device so I kind assumed it was related to that.Recently, however, I've had sporadic echo talking to other users.
Just now I turned off noise suppression and turned on call clarity enhancement. However, it occurs to me that since I have another LG G4 on my account and also a samsung, I should do some comparisons between the phones to make sure it's not my phone.
My IPhone 5 suddenly turned off and can not be turned on.
It prompts me to use connect to iTunes . I have done all iTunes updates but it says it cannot be restored due to error 14.
It restored correctly once this weekend and functioned for all of an hour before it died.
I'm afraid I'm within days of the one year warranty. Because I live in a rural area I can't get to a Rogers or IApple store I cannot conveniently take it in for replacement or repair. Â
I've had nothing but problems since I updated to the os7.
On my MacBook, I can use Energy Saver to schedule a Shutdown on the Mac. Is there any way to do that to my iPhone 4s, to get it shut down at a particularly time, an app or something?
I am having problems turning off my phone. When i swipe it, it looks like it is shuting down, then in a couple of seconds i see the apple logo and it restarts again.
My iPhone 4 has just shut down. Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge I did download a ringtone app and went on to iTunes to sync!.
How do you shut off the speaker in the e72? I have read the user's guide for the phone but it doesn't help. I have gone through the usual suspects on the menu (e.g. control panel, settings) but nowhere can I find a way to shut the speaker off.
