Is there any way to browse the internal phone memory on the Desire (the same way you can browse the SD card's contents) or otherwise see what apps/files are taking up what space in the internal memory? Like many others, I'm constantly getting the "low space" message, and I'm trying to figure out what's taking up all my internal memory!

Why can't the BB OS use some of the removable memory card space to free up the internal memory. To me this is a no brainer, most of us have 16 or 32gig cards, I would be more than happy to set aside some space so the phone could run better. Most of the new flash cards these days are reasonably fast and could easily be used as a swap file place holder or reside some of the dormitory features.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire S a few days ago and am faced with 2 problems:1) The phone connects to my wireless router without problems but when I try to browse the web I get a message "page not found" - 2 PCs connected to the router have no problems onnecting to the web (my rauter is a THOMSON SpeedTouch 780)2) when I connect the phone to my PC via USB the OS (Windows 7) is unable to find any drivers for it and therefore I cannot connect to the internet using my PC as a gateway either.

Whenever this message comes up my phone right side very slow, when I try to open a app or file it takes very long and mybphone freezes for a while. If I do a battery pull my phone runs properly for a day or so, until I'm greeted by the same low memory message. I've got no memory card and only a handful of media files.

But when I manually add the space consumed by each applications i get only 126 MB, can I see which folder/application is using 153 MB extra space and is hidden from display?Is the system showing extra space consumed than actual? My settings state I have 2.78gb available on my sD card and 16.09mb on my phone. I only have 15 apps downloaded of which 9 are on the SD card - the others won't move. I regularly "clear data" from apps. I hardly have any text messages saved, apart from one thread of 3000 messages that I'm slowly deleting my way thru!
After installing many apps my phone now says that its low on memory. but i do have 1.75 GB available space on my memory card. How can I install the Apps on memory card instead of phone memory?

For the last couple of days I have had this issue where the message that my phone is running out of storage space has been showing up and not going away.I have checked the amount of storage space I actually have available (10,70mb Internally and 3,66GB on a external SD card.) Well enough space to use. I have tried rectifying this by moving bigger applications and games to the SD card (amount of storage space available I posted earlier is after this) as well as emptying my text message storage and image gallery. Yet it does not go away.

However, I have 6.68GB free on the SD card and 33.21Mb free on the phone. Nevertheless I've deleted many messages, especially those with attachments, turn the phone off and on again, but I still get the alert. It doesn't seem to affect my ability to download new messages, but it's annoying. It only happens on one (POP3) account. Do I have to delete and recreate the account?

I'm fine with purchasing so steps to acquire a movie for free aren't important. I bought a movie thru Google Play which worked great until I was in a rural area with poor signal and the video kept buffering. Got me thinking relying on the cloud isn't the best option all the time. Would be nice to watch a movie while on a plane like I could with my ipod.
