Google Nexus 6 :: Make Sure That Calling And Data Don't Roam At All
Nov 11, 2015
I have a Nexus 6/my wife has my old Nexus 5. I want to make sure that calling and data don't roam at all. Is there something I can do to make sure that I don't incur charges? Should I call my provider and see if they have any suggestions?
I have data roaming disabled but my phone (Nexus 5) is still using data when I'm roaming. The only way I've found to prevent this is to turn off cellular data entirely. Why this is happening? What I want is for my phone to use data when on my carrier's network but not when roaming.
I have a Nexus 5 Phone. I use Viber and Magic jack for VOIP. These apps work fine as long as I am in WIFI zone Once I go to 3G zone I get error message. 3G is working fine for Internet browsing.
I am currently on Pure White rom latest version and I am unable to make or receive phone calls I tried other roms like cyanogen, xenon, chroma, and etc different radios (47I, 48B, etc) still nothing...
I went to tmobile store, switched the sim.. nothing... called customer service they said it's the phone... Data works, text message works...
As of this morning, every time I go to use the dialer it crashes. I can go through people and make calls, but can't go directly through the dialer. I tried resetting my phone. Really don't want to do a hard reset, but if I have to I will.
Is there a way to make the notification light blink more frequently? I don't want to use a messaging app because I really like Hangouts (dont judge me haha).
This just randomly started happening. When making calls, I hear ringing and right when the other person picks up, the phone automatically ends the call as if I hit the end call button. Same thing happens with incoming calls. I have full bars when this happens. So far, I've tried re-inserting the SIM card and doing a cache partition wipe to no avail. What could be going on?
I am not able to migrate the data from my Moto G to Google nexus 6 ,in moto G migrate option is working fully but in Google nexus 6 when u press the Migrate button it take you to the Scan screen over there you wont find any touch button to change the transfer mode like in Moto G so I think migrate wont work in Google nexus 6 ...
Are those two directories accessible without root? Yesterday I noticed that in any file manager both of those seem to be empty or in the FX File Explorer it was "Access was denied". I'm on stock 6.0
I'm using Nexus5 w/ Marshmallow (6.0), original stock.Yesterday I found a app that can improve the volume too weak issue and it need to unlock the phone.
I follow the steps to unlock the phone, after I run command "fastboot boot twrp.img", then the phone rebooted and perform something around 10 minutes, after the phone resumed to system, seem all the data(apps/photo/video) are deleted, seem perform a factory reset. before that, some files didn't perform backup, now how to I recover those files after factory reset??
I try many tools said can recover after factory reset or wiped, for example Dr.Fone, EaseUS MobiSaver, Recuva, DiskDigger on Android, some can found files but all not I needed and the phone already rooted. How to recover some, not all.
My screen is totally broken. Display and Touch are both failed. I want to back up my data , but the USB Debugging is not opened. The phone is rooted already. How to backup my data?
I have Marshmallow and a Nexus 6. My wifi reception is very poor upstairs and I end up using mobile data when I sleep, unless I switch it off before sleeping, which can be a little annoying. Any apps, or a way of switching off mobile data when I've reached a certain GPS (or radio tower, or set a timer) location?
I've used Tasker in the past but had to root my phone for it to work. Not keen to root my Nexus because I'd like to keep using my mobile banking apps!
I just bought a Nexus 5 a week ago, its not rooted and runs Lollipop 5.1. After I've setup everything, I noticed whenever I turn off WiFi or leave the range of my WiFi, the cellular data doesn't kick in automatically, simply displays an exclamation mark on the network icon. I need to go into settings and tap on the access point in order to have the cellular data started. It's been very inconvenient.
If I am connected to my home wifi my LG nexus 5 will not receive emails. If i turn off wifi and rely on my mobile data then they come through without any problem.
Also if i am connected to my home wifi i cant download any images or videos that people send my through kik or whatsapp. But i do get the text messages that they send.
I want to do a factory reset on my Nexus 5 but I don't want any backups/sync'd data to be restored (i.e. I want to completely start over as if I just got the device). I know how to do the factory reset but I'm not sure how to avoid any automatic restores or outdated/unwanted backup data.
Also, I noticed that in the Play Store apps that I no longer have installed still show up as installed. In fact a couple of apps that were never installed on my Nexus 5 (they were installed on an Android tablet that I no longer have a couple years ago) still show up. Is there a way to clear this/start over?
So I recently got my Nexus 5, switched as an avid Blackberry user (of the last 12 years, and 6 devices!) So far I LOVE the Nexus 5, and Android OS I think I should have been made the switch earlier. As soon as I got my phone and activated with my existing T-Mobile SIM, everything was working fine, except the Mobile DATA Network wouldn't work (only would work via wi-fi.) I called T-MO Tech Support 3-4 times, and after doing a factory reset, everything was back to working GREAT!
Now, 1 week later the Data Network stopped working AGAIN (I can make and receive calls, and text messages, however no Internet via Mobile Network.) I didn't change any settings or anything.. Again, I called t-mobile and they tried EVERYTHING (reset APN Settings, checked APN, Protocol, etc..) The last thing they asked me to do again was a factory reset, and once again everything seems to be working fine.
My question is: Why it keeps occurring? I don't use very many apps (FB, IG, WhatsApp, Weather, &Twitter only.) T-Mo was suggesting it could be an app causing this issue but I doubt it.
I have new Nexus 6 with custom Recovery and rotted, stock 5.1 ROM.
I was just setting the phone up for the first time, when I had to reboot. Upon reboot, I was informed that my data was corrupt and I would have to reset my phone.
The factory reset process took around 1 hour. Now, I can't boot into the ROM. I am stuck on the four bouncing around coloured balls.
Accessing the Recovery Mode, shows a Android robot waggling its ears. This remains seemingly permanently. Eventually I press Home and the Volume buttons. This results in a blank screen with only the words "Formatting /data..." appearing on the bottom left of the screen in tiny yellow text, as in the below image:
This last for a long time before the Recovery options eventually appear.
I noticed when I update my profile on my n5 I will lose network data until I switch network data off and back on. It only happens after I update the profile the prl is fine.
