Some "conversations" get split into 2 separate conversations. The split seems to be into incoming messages versus outgoing messages, generally.
I'm on a Nexus 5, previously had an iPhone. Hangouts does not have this issue, so that is what I have been using, but would like to switch if possible.
Id like to transfer my texts and photos from my galaxy nexus...whats the best way?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where I cannot text to 6 digit numbers (for card balances and whatnot) because there is a +1 in front of the number. There is no way to edit the number before sending the text. I have tried deleting the contact and manually typing the 6 digit number but it still adds +1 in front of it (which gives me an error when I send the text) . How to get hangouts to remove the +1?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a nexus 5 on t-mobile and am using chomp sms as my text app. I normally receive audible text alerts, but a few times a day seemingly at random a text will come and only vibrate. I don't believe this is a contact issue because I will receive several audible text alerts and then a silent alert from the same contact, and it can happen with any contact.

Mostly everyone that I know has an iPhone. I had one as well but I made sure I turned off imessage before I switched to the Nexus.

I have tried unpairing and repairing the phone and sync, I get the message to allow acess to my phone book but not for texts (even doubled check that MAP profile was on, it was). Message notification set to on also. I think my phone updated, and that's when the texts stopped working.

Now whenever I get a text message on hide it pro I receive it twice.
How can I stop this from occurring?
I tried it with a pair of headphones and I was able to hear who I called but the other person just heard background noise. I see people outside wear headphones while making calls.

I have read a lot about it, so I shut off iMessage on my mac and even disabled my number with iMessage on Apple's site. However, I am still not receiving some texts from iPhones. If they send a text just to me i get it fine (even though they may have to click send as a text message) but I won't be able to get it in a group text. It is frustrating because I can see some texts but not all of them. This has been happening for over a month now.

Is this normal or is there a setting on my phone that is not enabled correctly? I am using Textra on stock unrooted 6.0 with the bootloader unlocked.
For a couple of weeks now, all the pics coming in from other Android OS phones are coming through blank.
Pics from iOS phones are fine, but nothing from other Android phones work at all...is this a bad setting. On my side? Nexus 5 with all apps updated to current.
my phone has stopped receiving text messages until hours later. If im in the messaging app, i tap on a new text ill reply and it wont show that i replied. I then wont receive messages until hours later when I guess it finally has sent? Also, in my messaging its showing messages from years ago. I dont want my texts to save or to be backed up or restored.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs text messaging. If I try to send an outgoing text at the same time that one is incoming it will not send the outgoing message. It will struggle for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (or even more) and eventually time out with a 'text was not sent' error message. For someone like me who sends thousands of texts a month it's the most annoying thing ever! Other phones do not have this problem.
Also the time stamp for texts does not work if the phone is powered off. For example: I turn my phone off at midnight and someone sends me a text at 1:00 AM. I turn my phone back on at 8AM. The text arrives but does not have the correct time stamp as being sent at 1:00 AM. It will be shown as 8AM. So I have no idea what time the message was actually sent. Once again other phones I have used did not have this problem.
I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
My carrier is Tmobile. I'd like to block a few numbers that keep calling me (Sirus XM, insurance sales,...).
