Nov 11, 2015I got a new phone and set fingerprint password. It didn't really work so I got rid of it and just used a PIN. Now that I got my scanner fixed I want to use it again but it needs the backup password which I don't have. I tried scanning my finger and it didn't work. It will not let me scan again and is asking for the backup password for it to be able to open. I am not locked out of my phone rather I just need the backup password to change some settings. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the backup password without resetting my phone and keep in mind I am not locked out and still have full access just not the backup password? I have tried android device manager also the samsung one and cannot seem to find it. I do not want to reset my phone and am rooted.

Aug 12, 2015I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, and for my unlock screen I use a pin. However, for some applications, I use a fingerprint unlock as well as a pin.
Recently, the scanner was unable to read my fingerprint so my phone disabled the fingerprint unlock option and came up with the notification "Enter backup password to verify fingerprint." I thought I remembered the right password, but apparently not, so I am unable to change or update my fingerprint at all.
From what I've read, a lot of people have problems on the lock screen, but my lock screen is fine since I use a pin, I just can't remember my backup password for my fingerprint. I've already tried Samsung's Find My Mobile, and I would really like to avoid doing a factory reset.
how I either reset my backup password or somehow change my fingerprint?

Sep 11, 2015I can't seem unlock my device using fingerprint or backup password. The fingerprint animation isn't playing and doesn't recognise that I am swiping the home button.I have tried entering the backup password and it says I have entered it incorrectly when I am for certain entered it correctly.Changing keyboards doesn't fix this. Restarting the phone and removing the battery and SD card does not fix this.
I have previously registered for the Google Device Manager and have tried locking my phone, but that doesn't seem to work. Do I need to have an Internet connection or GPS on my phone to do that? If so, I can't connect to the internet or activate GPS due to it being locked. Is there any way around this?
I really don't want to factory reset my phone unless it's the only last option I have.And I have contacted Samsung support regarding this and am waiting for a reply. I will update if they have replied to my message.

Aug 1, 2010I forgot to, and my last backup was from july 16th, I've stupidly lost 15 days of valuable notes. So even though its so simple to just jailbreak from your safari browser, you should still connect it to your computer and back it up just in case.

Knowing my dad, he had forgotten the password and cannot get in here, the only suggestion we have found is reset your phone which obviously is a bit last resort.
I have found some suggestions I. e. sign in your Google account however that did not work nor did a suggestion which was to go in private mode and from there it will prompt the fingerprint and make that default.
