So, I flashed with stock firmware from sammobile and phone works. I then hard reset it from recovery mode and phone boots and everything fine. Then after a couple of minutes hangs again and same problem.

In fact, the smartphone, from the beginning, showed different annoying problems, like:
- It shuts down randomly, when I press the home button to turn on the screen. Before it shuts down, the screen shows some weird horizontal grey lines for a couple of seconds;
- When I surf on the internet with Google Chrome, often the screen shows strange colorful flickerings, making it impossible to do research on Google
- The screen randomly becomes pink, and I have to change the brightness level in order to fix it.

Apr 24, 2015I don't know if others are affected by this but Verizon seems to have pre-installed Accu-Weather as my phone's weather source for weather alerts and such. Whenever there's a weather alert I get a scroll across the top of the screen letting me know. I can't find "Accu-Weather" anywhere in the app manager to force close this annoying thing and there seems to be no way to disable this.

ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. Whenever I try to turn it on the welcome screen "samsung powered by android" comes up for 1 second and then goes black and nothing else happens. I've had the phone for about 8 months and never rooted or installed any software other than official updates. I was just playing a game while it was charging when it stopped working.
every combination of buttons i press even the factory reset gives the same result, the welcome screen for 1 second and then nothing. I was able to get to the OS change warning screen though but when i cancel it goes back to the welcome screen problem. Charging it shows the charging symbol going on and off every second.

Jun 13, 2015Last night I pulled my S5 out of my pocket and there is a new lock screen that tells me "To unlock, enter the recovery password" I am very about locking my phone before putting it in my pocket, so I find it very hard to believe that I accidentally mistyped my PIN multiple times. I don't ever remember setting up a recovery password, and have tried every combination of passwords I might have used. I tried the google device manager. When I attempt to lock the phone with GDM, I get this message, "Google has verified that a screen lock has already been set, the password you entered wont be needed"
Every time I try the wrong recovery password, it tells me I entered the incorrect recovery password 1 time and all data will be erased. The only way to avoid this is to pull the battery and try another password. I have searched all over the place and cannot find a solution. I have found 1 other person that had the same problem and ended up wiping their phone. I am trying to avoid that.

May 4, 2015I have only had my samsung for a week. I am an iphone convert. In getting to know my phone I set up a pw for the private mode. I moved a few photos into the private folder and when the phone shut off private mode did as well. Now I cannot remember my password and there is no fingerprint backup.
Samsung supports response Keep trying paswords. I realize I should have written it down, but I was slightly overwhelmed moving to android. There has to be a way to retrieve.
