Just got the new Bold 9650. Should I have the firewall enabled, and the encryption enabled? What else should I do to make sure that my phone is secure?
when wifi is off, I can send myself an email and get notified several seconds later by my phone... if I try the same with wifi on, I get nothing.. Turn wifi off, and the notification comes through..Recently update to latest firmware via kies XWKF3 It is an unbranded sim free SG2 in UK, on Orange...
I thought it would be useful to make a bug list, that way anyone with a specific problem can come here to see if it's common and if there's any workarounds."Wi-Fi Sharing" process activated when tethering not enabled..Problem description: When using my phone earlier when connected to wifi, my battery went down very fast. Looked in the battery monitor, and it showed that the "Wi-fi sharing" process was using more power than the screen (which is unusual) - it used about 10% in half an hour. I also noticed my phone had clocked up to 1.2ghz and was getting pretty hot. I force stopped the process, and the CPU clocked back down to 200mhz.
Reproducing the problem: It appears to happen if you've enabled or configured tethering once. When it happens to me, it happens if I disable then enable wifi. It may or may not be specific to the type of wifi network you connect to.Root your phone and freeze "Wi-Fi sharing" in Titanium Backup. This will not effect Kies air or anything, though could effect tethering. If your tethering no longer works after freezing this application, defrost it to restore tethering functionality. Most people are saying this, and another wifi drain issue, have been fixed in the latest firmware(s).Potential issues when restoring settings from a rooted phone to a non rooted SGS II via Google.I did have a little problem here and there when I first got my SGSII. When I setup the google account, I chose to allow google to restore my settings. It is pretty cool as it restored all the apps I had with my old SGS but I suspect some of the apps I had is for the custom rom only hence I had problem everywhere with the new SGSII. I then did a factory reset and setup without the restore bit and since then I havn't had a single problem yet.My phone came with XWKDD and I heard something about this firmware has fixes to the previous ones, so it might worth upgrade your firmware if you are ok with Odin So my suggestions to you is, do a factory reset and rebuild your phone from scratch without restoring, if problem still exists, consider a firmware update.
I have recently updated my HTC One X to Android 4.1.1. Since the update, whenever i connect to a computer via USB, the phone is automatically going into USB Debugging Mode. The never used to happen before the update. Earlier it used to give me options about what I want to do when a USB is connected.I have tried disabling Debugging option from "developer options" in setting. It does not work. As soon as I connect it next time, it goes into debugging mode.
When replacing the flex cable from my nexus 5 to not more alloy screen . The phone is connected , can not access the internal storage normally , however when I list the adb appears that the device is not authorized. I do not have root , is there any way to authorize the device to debug so I can restart the same in bootloader and flash a new ROM....
I'm a web developer wanting to debug web pages inside the Xoom web browser.I have a particular issue in which I have a page with a number of <select> lists, the first two lists allow me to choose values but the remaining lists do not - even though I know the lists contain values. I'm guessing that this could be a WebKit bug but am hoping there are some simple debug tools to assist me, similar to Google Chrome, but I have no idea where to find them. about:debug doesn't help much and view-source: doesn't work.
Have tried using Opera Mobile browser and the lists works without a problem and have tried Firefox but this was too buggy to test. Dolphin seems to exhibit the same issues as the default Xoom browser so I'm gessing it uses the same version of WebKit.Getting this working is a crucial part of my system and I do not want to recommend that the customer use iPads to get the most reliable web functionality. So, are there any debugging tools for web pages available on the Xoom?
accidentally wiped the internal memory ..I have downloaded all the files which are needed for the stock... But I cant enable the debug because my phone is stuck at the start and yeah My phone is Rooted.
I am trying to manually turn on USB debugging (to access files on phone through update thru ADB mode in recovery options, I can install the driver for the phone but won't work until USB debugging is turned on) while my phone cannot boot into the OS. Is there a secret way to turn on USB debugging through recovery mode? (I do not want to wipe the data, and phone unfortunately is not rooted)
I don't know why, but the xperia active is bugging me. When I connect the phone with USB-Debugging turned off everything works fine. The PC Companion software and Windows explorer recognize the device, but when I turn on USB-Debugging (which I need because I want to test my self-programmed Android apps) the device gets disconnected instantly and I cannot select it as a target device for debugging in Eclipse. In the device manager of Windows under "Other devices" there's an entry labeled "ST17i" which seems to be the phone, but there's the yellow warning icon which indicates that no driver is installed. However, when I right-click and choose to update the driver, Windows doesn't find any driver online.I even looked for a driver here url... but apparently there's no driver for the xperia active. The Android Version is 4.0.4 (got the phone today and updated it) and my PC OS is Windows 7
Tried a few times to set this up using known locations. The phone recognizes its at the known location but i still cant unlock without having to use the fingerprint scan. It would be key if i didn't have to use the scan every time Im in a comfortable locale.
I have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
Voice has enabled itself on iphone 4s and also locking up the screen so can not get into settings to take off voice and unlock screen but unable to do so, anyone able to
I purchased an iPhone 3GS with an Optus Pre-Paid deal (with 3G included) many years ago. My Optus contract finished and terminated. I started a new business contract with my fathers company Telstra Plan with a new non-3G enabled plan. I recieved a new simcard and everything worked (other than 3G ofcoarce).
The Telstra Business Plan has been completed and I have re-entered a new contract period with Telstra again. But this time I have organised 3G to be enabled. The plan has commenced but 3G doesn't actually work. I have unlocked my IMEI number through Telstra and I was told to Sync my iPhone. I completed the sync and I still don't have any 3G capability! Can anyone recommend a way of getting the service enabled properly? I have tried the Telstra website to send me the settings (it also didn't work).

I have a bought a new Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 model recently from a retailer. I have been facing a strange problem for the past two days. Whenever, I try to enable the blue tooth. I have a problem with calls on my Z3 dual and the Answering Machine after the update to L.I don't have Smart Answer enabled -gesture to answer calls- but when I answer a call too close to the time set to the Answering Machine to kick in, when the call reaches this time (say 25 seconds) the call will be interrupted for about 2 to 5 Â seconds where I can't hear the other party and they can't hear me, and then the call will resume. If I disasble the answering machine, this bug is gone.I have cleared data of the phone app but still this issue persists.
Why is it that when i uncheck certain things like Google Photos Auto Back up, Google Plus, Google Photos they randomly get re-enabled?
I DO NOT WANT to use Google Photos Auto Back up, or on a couple of my email addresses Google Plus, OR Google Photos yet from time to time they seem to automatically enable them selves.
My guess is this happens after app updates but if i have disabled syncing in the first place for these apps why do they keep re-enabling them selves? I do not like it.
For those of you who have disabled syncing of a particular app can you check yours and see if they have been re-enabled? Im curious to see if its my device or a wide spread issue.
