I want to install a custom recovery like xtrestolite, how can I root, use a custom recovery, and get the dual sim to work plus fingerprint etc?
As most of you are familiar with Samsung's latest iteration of Samsung Kies, the Smart Switch, it is able to "unroot" most of the rooted devices including the Galaxy S6 (Tried it with my rooted G920F). By using the function somewhere in the "Emergency software recovery and initialization" tab, it will opt the user to upgrade/reinstall the existing software therefore unrooting your device.
My question is - how about using this method to remove the custom recovery (i.e. CWM or TWRP), thus reverting back to stock recovery?
I recently flashed xef 5.1.1 and ota'd to 6.0.1 and rooted with spacex kernel. My question is can i install twrp with flashify?
First of all root with spacex kernel.... Then follow the guide on how to root galaxy s6 android 6 in this forum and don't do the last part with installing the kernal and super su. Link to guide: [URL] ....
Is there a way to install Custom ROMs without tripping KNOX? I've already rooted my S6 with PingPongRoot and KNOX is still 0x0.I'd really love to use a more stable and debloated ROM on my S6.

You need to unlock your device to install a custom OS.
For information about how to unlock, please refer to your device information at [URL]....
Please press the power key to restart.
Is it due to locked bootloader???

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bricked my Nexus 5 after attempting to load one kernel over another (I know now that what I did was stupid) and I'm now stuck in a bootloop. I believe I'm running on 5.1.1 and have no custom recovery anymore.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo this may be a stupid question, but this is my first Nexus device. I will have a 6P delivered Thursday and plan to unlock, decrypt, and install TWRP. The guides so far reference using MDB08K, and the modified boot is only for this version currently. After I install TWRP, am I able to install the factory image for the latest MDB08M and just exclude flashing certain images? Or do I need to flash them all then wait for a new modified boot image for 08M and install TWRP over again?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAre there any roms that allow you to update as though it was an OTA update? I had Blisspop on my oneplus one and it allowed me to do so, without the need to boot into recovery and flash the new image. I could just download and install the nightly updates thru the settings menu. I would love something like that for the Nexus 6P!

View 9 Replies View RelatedThere are rumors the first region's update (Europe) will roll out starting tomorrow.According to sources, the update will NOT install if you are using a custom ROM, you are rooted, and you are not on 2.1.that's right! You must have an OFFICIAL 2.1 unrooted rom.here's the screenshot from SE's site before it was removed...this details the feature updates (remember these are only features....many more things may have been added/updated than are listed here). It's also been confirmed the update will include baseband 2.1.70, and POSSIBLY (unconfirmed) a kernel update

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on a stock rooted Nexus 5 (with TWRP). I want to install a custom rom; however, I would like to do a clean install of the custom rom (making sure no files/settings of my previous installations are left if that makes sense). What's the best way to go about this? Does it mean I have to install both the custom rom and the recovery again in order to do a clean install?

like my title states how would I install denim using the recovery tool? I tried looking on here for a step by step and I'm surprised there is no manual or instructions on how to do this.. is it difficult? is it as easy as pressing a button and let it do it's thing? I would need the HK variant of Denim.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is an iPhone 4S. I have stupidly inflicted this on myself. Here is the situation: I haven't synced my iPhone for several weeks. I tried to install the latest version of iOS via wifi which I have done many times before with no problem. This time I ended up with the phone stuck in recovery mode. If I connect via cable to iTunes, it tells me that I will need to use recovery and restore. I would very much like to attempt to save photos and contact updates done since the last restore.Â

since samsung s2 i dont use samsung mobile phones so its a long time
i bought a galaxy s6 and the original room is full of aplications i dont use, the ram avaible is a joke and the battery life isnt very good
i want to install a custom rom
im with the last ofical 5.1.1., if i install a custom rom i will loose right to waranty? there isnt any way of revert the root and count?
Switching to the S6 (Edge, actually) from a MotoX. Never owned a Samsung before, so still getting used to TouchWiz, etc.
Just looking for a way to set a custom ringtone per contact? I assume it will find my ringtones that I put in /sdcard/ringtones, but I can't find a way to assign them to my contacts.
I just update my S6 to MM, but i'm not able to set a custom font anymore. With Lollipop i was able to install a custom font with IFont and apply it from screen settings. Now IFont still can install the font, but once you try to apply from settings, it says that it's not supported and it asks if you want to unistall it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I get back to stock, from a custom rom?
I did a backup of stock, with TWRP, but can I just restore it or do I need to flash stock firmware with Odin first? (I'm on XtreStoLite right now).
Just don't want to brick it, so unsure if I can just restore, or I need to remove the custom rom before restoring.
I am trying to create a custom firmware for SM-G925F (Galaxy S6 edge). But in the end I get bootloop. What I did:
1. Deodexed /system (unpacked from original firmware) by JoelDroidLollipopBatchDeodexer (based on oat2dex).
2. Synced deodexed /system/framework, /system/priv-app and /system/app with original /system.
3. Repack system partition with ext2simg from Android 5.0.2 distro and sgs4ext4fs by Chainfire.
4. Prepared ODIN package with repacked system partition.
It flashes OK but after it stucks at bootloop. I did not patched anything yet, just deodexed with the tool.
I tried many different combinations but can't understand why it is not boot. On Android 4.4 I had no problems, but it seems some big under-the-hood changes in Android 5 which I don't fully understand yet...
I have a SGS5 on Verizon wireless with the most recent software update from last week. This morning I changed my phone's battery and my custom ringtones--for Gmail and stock messaging apps--are no longer working and no longer appear as options in the settings for both apps. The custom ringtone files are still on the phone.I've tried re adding them, and copying them to different folders; I also tried searching for any of the existing stock sounds but nothing comes up with I search for "Postman" "harp" or "dew drops."
