View 3 RepliesI'm about to fully flash my device back to stock. I have a o2 UK variant s6. I have downloaded the correct 5.1.1 rom via sammobile. However the worry I have is about the bootloader, do I have to do anything with it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem on my G920T that's been bugging me for a while. After flashing a custom ROM, my EFS was messed up. I had backed it up prior to any custom ROMs. All works well n the phone except whenever it's rebooted it fails to register to T-Mobile's network.
So I have to bring up the dialer, type in *#2263# and choose Band Selection, then LTE, then LTE All (which is already asterisked) and tap it again. Only then will it register on the network and then works fine. I've tried everything under the sun including restoring EFS backup, flashing back to stock, etc., to no avail.
Any script that automatically runs the above process after reboot. I don't know enough to do so, and I'm not sure one exists.
I have unlocked bootloader with custom kernel (nightelf) on my phone. Can I update neo V via PC Companion without consequences?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi recently tried flashing my v3m to altell. But it fail in the process and now it just shows the altell boot then goes to bootloader mode. Boot Command: RQHW M-Link error 0008: DeviceIoControl() result falied during USB device I/O.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to make a backup of bootloader? If it is, how? I am not talking about kernel (boot.img is the kernel, correct?), system, recovery, or data. Bootloader. My Nexus 5 came with bootloader version hhz11n. The factory image from Google (4.4.4) has bootloader version hhz11k.
How different these two are, but since hhz11n image can't be found anywhere, I want to back it up before flashing to Lollipop or Marshmallow.
My Nexus is still running 4.4.4, bootloader unlocked, rooted, with TWRP installed.
I have flashed various version 5 stock firmware's and the latest 6.0 using nexus tool kit, as well as specifically flashing only stock recovery using the tool kit and I cannot load into the stock recovery. I've spent hours looking for information on manually flashing the stock recovery without the tool kit but have found the instructions very vauge. Any information on flashing manually only the recovery would be very useful or information on why I may be having this issue.
I know every time i flash a rom it only shows about half of my internal storage. I have a 32gb version. So I end up having to go into a recovery "temp flashed" using the tool kit in order to clear some information and then i get my 32gb's back.
I"m wondering if the space being auto allocated or partitioned is interfering with the flash of the recovery..
I am currently using Xperia IceCream Pureness ROM on my Xperia Pro with Ultima ICS kernel (allows overclocking upto 2.0 Ghz ).However, I guess I am tired of custom ROMs now and want to go back to original (Stock) ICS but still keeping the overclocking part.what's the process to just flash the Stock ROM keeping my kernel? Bootloader is unlocked by the way.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAre there any roms that allow you to update as though it was an OTA update? I had Blisspop on my oneplus one and it allowed me to do so, without the need to boot into recovery and flash the new image. I could just download and install the nightly updates thru the settings menu. I would love something like that for the Nexus 6P!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI think I am having GPS problems with the latest BOGG baseband, I intend to try to downgrade to 5.0.2 baseband, I am not sure if this is possible or not. I know that you cannot downgrade from 5.1.1 ROM to 5.0.2 ROM, but not sure about baseband.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a S6 from Amazon, but the device is branded with Swisscom, with an awful boot logo and sound, and a few specific apps. I'm waiting for a nano sim, so for now I don't know if the phone is also simlocked.
I intend anyway to install custom roms, so I don't care much about this, however I can't find out whether the bootloader is locked or not (in which case, I'll have to send it back to Amazon I guess).
The device is a SM-920F, I made the OTA update to 5.1.1 upon powering it. Not sure what the bootloader and rom exact versions are, but I will add them to the post if necessary.
I know that there is this engineering bootloader that keep safe the knox status if you want to mod the phone. My question is simple, if i install this particular bootloader, i'll have root and custom recovery, is it possible to install a rom/custom rom/ stock firmware with the 5.0.2?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just update my S6 to MM, but i'm not able to set a custom font anymore. With Lollipop i was able to install a custom font with IFont and apply it from screen settings. Now IFont still can install the font, but once you try to apply from settings, it says that it's not supported and it asks if you want to unistall it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I get back to stock, from a custom rom?
I did a backup of stock, with TWRP, but can I just restore it or do I need to flash stock firmware with Odin first? (I'm on XtreStoLite right now).
Just don't want to brick it, so unsure if I can just restore, or I need to remove the custom rom before restoring.
I am trying to create a custom firmware for SM-G925F (Galaxy S6 edge). But in the end I get bootloop. What I did:
1. Deodexed /system (unpacked from original firmware) by JoelDroidLollipopBatchDeodexer (based on oat2dex).
2. Synced deodexed /system/framework, /system/priv-app and /system/app with original /system.
3. Repack system partition with ext2simg from Android 5.0.2 distro and sgs4ext4fs by Chainfire.
4. Prepared ODIN package with repacked system partition.
It flashes OK but after it stucks at bootloop. I did not patched anything yet, just deodexed with the tool.
I tried many different combinations but can't understand why it is not boot. On Android 4.4 I had no problems, but it seems some big under-the-hood changes in Android 5 which I don't fully understand yet...
I have a SGS5 on Verizon wireless with the most recent software update from last week. This morning I changed my phone's battery and my custom ringtones--for Gmail and stock messaging apps--are no longer working and no longer appear as options in the settings for both apps. The custom ringtone files are still on the phone.I've tried re adding them, and copying them to different folders; I also tried searching for any of the existing stock sounds but nothing comes up with I search for "Postman" "harp" or "dew drops."

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe use a paging system (text message) when we get called into work and it comes from a different number each time ex: 7777129401 the next page will be 77771291048. With my Galaxy S4 I was able to set a separate text notification for all of my groups of contacts while my default text messaging notification would be a loud siren (to wake me up in the middle of the night). This means anytime I got a "page" for work or if someone texted me and I didn't have their number in my phone the siren would go off. The only way I can figure out how to do this in the S6 is to individually go to each contact and set a custom notification and set my default to the siren. I have over 800 contacts, so this would take forever! I also used to use an app called Alirmer before I got the S4, because I did not have the capability with the Droid Bionic, but for some reason this app does not operate correctly on the S6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just ported to android. But I'm finding it difficult to add custom notifications sounds to different apps e.g. tweet-tweet for twitter, ring for email, cheer for sports app, shutter sound for Instagram etc. Also not every app shows the banner, some silently comes in system tray, some make noise. I want to control how each app notifies. How do I do that ? I'm NOT asking how to change "DEFAULT notification sound".

I tried to do a reset but then a warning came up, saying how the phone is a custom os and resetting it might cause damages to the phone. Is there another way to solve the lag on my phone or do I still proceed with the reset?
