This was working fine, and now all of a sudden, probably after an update, it stopped. I cannot get the phone to even begin a USB connection to my PC, only charges. I've tried fiddling with every setting imaginable. Incredible frustrating that the simplest things will not work on this phone.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi installed the bluetooth file transfer app from the market and it worked fine for a couple of goes, then my 6 yr old got hold of my phone and i am not sure if he altered some sort of setting and it is now not sending out files (it says on the recieving phone, - connection dropped- ) it is also now not connecting to other phones. Is there anyway of finding out what had changed so i can fix it, would a reset work if so how to do it.

Of course the capacity is actually 59GB and I have just about 56GB of files(music,pics,videos,etc.) I was recently gifted a 128 GB SD card that I've been wanting. Now,the problem is transferring all my stuff from old SD card to new one. Back when I had smaller cards from 4 even to 32GB,I could back it up to my PC hard drive. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Galaxy S6 for about a week, and everything worked perfectly before. Now, when I connect phone to PC, it's just charging and I can't share files. Also, USB OTG isn't working anymore, when I plug USB into the phone nothing happens.
Is it possible that it's not working because of "Package disabler pro" app? I installed it yesterday, and it stopped working after I disabled some packages. But I enabled all the packages back, restart the phone and it's still not working!!
What can be the problem, hardware or software?
My S6 will not stay connected to my PC so I can transfer files, use Kies, SmartSwitch, or anything. Sometimes I hear the Windows notification that it's plugged in, but even when I do, it goes back and forth between being recognized and not. Most of the time it doesn't even show up in Device Manager.
I'm currently running Windows 10, but it did the same thing on Windows 8.1. I have downloaded the Samsung USB drivers as well as allowed Kies and SmartSwitch to install them.
Thinking my Windows 10 being upgraded from 8.1 without a full wipe carried over whatever problem was in 8.1, I did a full wipe of my PC and reloaded Windows 10 clean. That also didn't work.
When I first installed Windows 10 clean, my PC didn't recognize my phone at all. It just acted like a charger. After I installed the Samsung USB drivers, it started making the 'connecting' and 'disconnecting' sounds. Also, the most I got Windows to recognize my phone was for about 5 seconds, and that was right after turning off USB debugging. But with it on or off, it still won't stay connected.
And yes, I've made sure (when the phone has connected for a second or two) that it was on MTP. But... I've tried the camera mode as well.
This makes it not only impossible to move files easily between my phone and PC, but also to use Odin.
I've read many posts where people have this problem, but everyone just tells them to go download the Samsung USB driver, and after having done so three different ways, I can say it doesn't work for me.
Just bought the Galaxy S5 yesterday because the charge port on my S4 broke. I can't charge my old phone or plug it into a computer to extract files .
No files saved to SD card or Gmail account either. I'm going to borrow a friend's S4 battery and put in mine.
Will the NFC beam transfer allow me to move my contacts from the S4 to the S5? The S4 is deactivated.
I have just bought an S5 and I am trying to transfer music over from my iMac. I've downloaded Android File Transfer, and deleted Kies (as I had read that I should do), but each time I try to connect the phone to the computer, I keep getting a message on the computer saying that the phone won't connect and I should try reconnecting or restarting. I've done both of these things, but I still haven't been able to connect successfully once.

I transferred some files from my old phone (photos, contacts, etc.) and have only downloaded two apps. Under Storage, it says that Miscellaneous Files take up 13.10GB of space - and that Mobile Content Transfer is the biggest culprit of this. If I delete this file, would I lose everything that transferred? I've added an SD card but can only put a few apps onto it and not much else.

I am pretty IT savvy so I googled the heck out of the issue. Here are the things I have tried. I started by going into Settings > Storage > Applications and cleared Data/Cache of several contacts related apps.I disabled the Google + app completely.I disabled all contacts syncing of all accounts and re-enabled.I made sure all apps are fully updated, even though when the problem first started all apps were out of date. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I've never dropped my s6 edge. It's only 20 days old in fact. However today all of a sudden the touch screen will not work. The two bottom buttons work as does the fingerprint work so I can unlock the phone and see the home screen but not do anything else. Typically if battery pull to fix something like this, however of course this is not possible on the s6.
So I've held the power button for 30 secs and it won't turn off cos it wants me too press the screen power off button, I've tried restarting it by booting it into download mode.
The screen of my Samsung S5 has stopped working but the phone powers up but the screen is blank. Is there any way i can get my contacts off the phone? I have tried to connect it to a computer but its not recognizing it.

I still get the notification in the top left hand corner that the message has been received, I still have sound with incoming ringtone and my alarm sound is still working.I went into settings - sound - volume and it looks good.I went into messages - settings - select ringtone and it looks good.i received a text message and had sound and then downloaded an application and the next text message I received the sound had gone. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I woke up today my fingerprint scanner stopped working. It have done so before, but fixed itself. Today I have not been able to unlock phone once, if I don't delete current fingerprints and add a new. It then works for half an hour or so and then it can't recognize my finger anymore.
I have tried to wipe cache on Fingerprint scanner and wipe normal cache + Dalvik cache.
The a2dp stopped working on my S6. (G920F 5.1.1 unrooted) I can pair with devices (Speakers, etc) but if I go to their individual settings, the "Media Audio" is disabled. I can still connect to my car stereo and use the phone (the car stereo doesn't support a2dp).
I have done a factory reset 3 times, and the a2dp starts working again every time but after a while it stops. I have been careful in trying to identify what app triggers the a2dp to stop working but it doesn't seem to be related to installed apps.
After the first day, the external speaker stopped working. I can hear sound via the earbuds, but it does not ring, nor have any audible notifications. Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Imagine having a phone that doesn't ring for over two weeks.
