a couple of questions about transferring mp3 files between my s2 and PC
1. via kies air. How does one upload multiple files? To start with there was a box saying to download a java thing to let me do this, but I accidentally dismissed the box and have no idea what to look for.
2. Via USB: My PC recognises that there is something connected, but I can't see how to get into the folders on the phone, or even see anything to allow me to communicate firther with it.
I have had a 64GB SD card in my Galaxy S5 for a while. Of course the capacity is actually 59GB and I have just about 56GB of files(music, pics, videos, etc.) I was recently gifted a 128 GB SD card that I've been wanting. Now,the problem is transferring all my stuff from old SD card to new one. Back when I had smaller cards from 4 even to 32GB,I could back it up to my PC hard drive. Since then,I still have the same PC/hard drive but with not enough space. What can I do?
I have Galaxy S6 for about a week, and everything worked perfectly before. Now, when I connect phone to PC, it's just charging and I can't share files. Also, USB OTG isn't working anymore, when I plug USB into the phone nothing happens.
Is it possible that it's not working because of "Package disabler pro" app? I installed it yesterday, and it stopped working after I disabled some packages. But I enabled all the packages back, restart the phone and it's still not working!!
My S6 will not stay connected to my PC so I can transfer files, use Kies, SmartSwitch, or anything. Sometimes I hear the Windows notification that it's plugged in, but even when I do, it goes back and forth between being recognized and not. Most of the time it doesn't even show up in Device Manager.
I'm currently running Windows 10, but it did the same thing on Windows 8.1. I have downloaded the Samsung USB drivers as well as allowed Kies and SmartSwitch to install them.
Thinking my Windows 10 being upgraded from 8.1 without a full wipe carried over whatever problem was in 8.1, I did a full wipe of my PC and reloaded Windows 10 clean. That also didn't work.
When I first installed Windows 10 clean, my PC didn't recognize my phone at all. It just acted like a charger. After I installed the Samsung USB drivers, it started making the 'connecting' and 'disconnecting' sounds. Also, the most I got Windows to recognize my phone was for about 5 seconds, and that was right after turning off USB debugging. But with it on or off, it still won't stay connected.
And yes, I've made sure (when the phone has connected for a second or two) that it was on MTP. But... I've tried the camera mode as well.
This makes it not only impossible to move files easily between my phone and PC, but also to use Odin.
I've read many posts where people have this problem, but everyone just tells them to go download the Samsung USB driver, and after having done so three different ways, I can say it doesn't work for me.
This was working fine, and now all of a sudden, probably after an update, it stopped. I cannot get the phone to even begin a USB connection to my PC, only charges. I've tried fiddling with every setting imaginable. Incredible frustrating that the simplest things will not work on this phone.
I have just bought an S5 and I am trying to transfer music over from my iMac. I've downloaded Android File Transfer, and deleted Kies (as I had read that I should do), but each time I try to connect the phone to the computer, I keep getting a message on the computer saying that the phone won't connect and I should try reconnecting or restarting. I've done both of these things, but I still haven't been able to connect successfully once.
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S5 and am already almost out of storage space. I transferred some files from my old phone (photos, contacts, etc.) and have only downloaded two apps. Under Storage, it says that Miscellaneous Files take up 13.10GB of space - and that Mobile Content Transfer is the biggest culprit of this. If I delete this file, would I lose everything that transferred? I've added an SD card but can only put a few apps onto it and not much else.
Wth vodafone and i am switching to t-mobile and have a new samsung galaxy s2.I want to transfer all my old contacts (and calendar appointments if possible) from the blackberry to the new phone.
Well, got my S6 yesterday and it seems that samsung has discontinued Kies for S6. Any way to transfer contacts and calendar from a PC Outlook 2010? This is not an exchange or outlook.com account. Just looking to transfer contacts and calendar from Outlook directly. Samsung suggests using Smart Switch, but that is one time deal and when contacts/calendar is coming from another cell phone. There used to be all kinds of Sync programs, but they seem to be useless also.
I've just got a new SGS2. I've paired it with a VW Passat from 2011. Everything is working fine except transferring the contact list, only around half of the contacts get transferred -- 125 of 205. I can't find out why some contacts get transferred and others don't. Before I had a Palm Pre 2 and it worked just fine... all contacts would transfer perfectly.
I've unpair the connection several times in the Bluetooth settings, delete the connection in the car and pair again but didn't solve the problem. I've also update some of the key contacts that don't get synced, forced a reload of the contact list in the car menu but nothing works.
When I am trying to transfer my phone contacts to my car, the icon that allows this (the three dots and connecting lines) is not on the phone screen. How do I find/activate the icon?
I set up Motocast wireless without any issues, but cannot access the files after uploading/syncing. I can see my files listed, but they will not open. I can access mymotocast from my desktop and open the files with out a problem. On my phone (Electrify) I can change tabs (files, music, videos) and highlight my desktop's name, but cannot change the layout (list or thumbs), or open any of the files. There should not be any DRM issues, as all content is either personal, academic, or work-related.The only interaction that I can get is when long-pressing the filenames a javascript prompt comes up: bookmark link or copy link. I am at a loss.
I just installed a new app I found in the latest issue of PC Magazine. It is called Software Data Cable. It provides ftp file transfer between an Android device and your PC. It works best with Filezilla Client to transfer files over your wifi network. Works excellent with my Xooom with ICS. Fast and no USB cable needed. Only negative is that it seems to only see the internal SD storage.
Basically, I have a Nexus 5 which has damage to the connection between the mainboard and USB/display daughterboard meaning no display or external connectivity. I don't cloud sync my photos and the last manual backup of the phone was in July. Since then I've been on holiday and my son has been born so some quite important events as you can imagine.
The phone still boots but with obviously no method of connectivity I've hit a brick wall. The only option I think I have is a wireless file transfer.
My droid pro is connected to my wirelss network. When I first connected it to the network I could see all the other devices and download shared files from the computers to my droid. I could view all the devices on the droid. Now I can't view any of the devices ( computers ) on my droid nor access any of the shared files. I see the droid connected to the router ( IP and Mac addresses ) I go to the file folder and scan for the shared folders and the IP addresses of these computer are visible, however I can not access any the of shared folders as before. I contacted the service provider ( Verizon ). They tried to say it was a computer issue rather than a cell phone issue. All shared files are marked and set up to be shared to anyone who has access to the wireless network. The computers were check by a computer engineer and fould not to be the problem. I have tried so many areas to resolve this issue as has the computer engineer who checked the computers.
MotoCast Wireless needs an option to only use music files from "my_music/folder/path/" or, alternatively, only use music files from my iTunes library. As it stands, MotoCast Wireless settings ask nebulously for the paths to, "[any and all] folders containing media and documents you want to be remotely accessible."Because some programs keep files that are technically "media" type files in the documents path, my MotoCast Library online shows up with a pantload of "songs" by "unknown artist".My meticulously maintained music library has ZERO tracks by "unknown artist". Ditto for "unknown album". Same for "songs" with no name or no genre. MotoCast is, without asking me, including all sorts of sound effect and video clip and other mish-mash of media riff raff that it has tumbled upon in my document folders..It's nice that you want MotoCast to be an all'round helpful product, but the document functions need to be separated from the music and the pictures, and each of those should be separated from the documents.
I have a problem when i try to connect my z5 compact to pc companion using wifi. it said " can not connect to pc companion using wifi " when i try pairing my old xperia ZL it works without any problem. and then i noticed that there is no option for wireless media transfer in connectivity menu.
Here is my z5 compact screenshot
and then compare it with my old xperia ZL
what should i do? i don't want to use usb cable every time i need to connect to my pc...
I wonder if anyone here knows how to load standard subtitles files (.srt) while playing video files (like .avi) on my SGS2. There's an idle "Subtitles" button on the bottom right of the player's menu, which I hadn't been able to use. Should I try a different one from the Android market?
I am trying to transfer all my contacts from Galaxy S to Nokia 808 but it seems to be like the Mars Mission! I have all my contacts synced with my Google account and Windows Live account and I have all the contacts in .vcf and .csv format. How can I get them into my Nokia 808. I tried the "Import contacts" option in PC Suite but it just does not do anything. It acts as though I never asked it to import. So that isnt working. I am using the latest PC Suite which i downloaded from the Nokia website.
