View 6 RepliesOn the S6 when you get a notification on WhatsApp for example, the notification blocks the whole notification bar and stays there for an annoyingly long time So until the bar goes away you can't swipe down the notification bar.
What settings would I need to change in order to fix this? Maybe stop it blocking the whole notification bar every time I get a message. Sometimes I get more than one message in a row so it will be there for a long time.
I want to add the whistle notification sound to my galaxy s6...
View 24 Replies View RelatedI got the lollipop upgrade and now only have one notification sound, the whistle. And I can't figure out how to get my other notifications to work. They play in the notification menu and I can select them as default but they won't work when I get an actual notification. Ringtones work fine why won't my notifications?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's a really basic thing, i go into sounds and notifications, ringtones and sounds, email, tap on the email address i want to set, i change the notification sound to what i want, i hear the preview and i'm done. HOWEVER, it will not play that sound. no matter what i do it plays the little bike bell. I've tried to change it directly from email settings, no matter what i do the sound wont change and it wont vibrate. ringtone for phone and text, and everything else changes fine. just not email. i've rebooted, and cleaned cache partition.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have set my S5 Mini with all the sounds I want, different sounds for different things.
However when it comes to the Clock > Alarm, something I use on a regular basis (old timers is setting in), even though in "Notifications" I have set it to the sound I want, the Clock > Alarm just refuses to play ball, it always defaults back to Samsung's sound.
It is such a quiet sound, I have on occasion missed an appointment, I normally remember to set the sound I want the phone to play, but on the odd occasion I have forgotten, hence the missed appointments.
I have searched the phone for these sounds, hooked the phone up to my PC, and done a search just on the phone for those pesky Samsung sounds. Both way's it cannot find the sound I so desperately want to be rid of.
All of my other Ringtones and Notifications work as I have set them, bar Clock > Alarm.
How I can find them, and delete them?
Can anyone tell me if there is a setting to allow a blinking light to let you have a missed call or text or e-mail without having to turn phone on out of sleep mode?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0 kernel 3.4.0. I use a stock sound (knock) for all notifications but at what seems like random intervals it will switch on its own to "Pure Tone"...a sound which isn't even an option for me to choose as a notification sound.
"Pure Tone" continues to play until the offending notification is acknowledged. What is causing this to reset and how do I make it stop?
Why doesnt my s5 turn off when I get a notification or when I check the time On lock screen. This been happening for the past days. I had about 55% of battery and when I got off work it was dead. I then later charged my phone and noticed that when I get a notification on the lock screen it won't turn off right after the notification showed. when I turn on the phone to check the time on the lock screen it doesn't turn off. it would usually turn off seconds later. This has been draining my battery. if I have a full battery at night and disconnect it and throughout the night I get a text message the lock screen would turn on and never turn off,and then in the morning I'm left with a dead phone or a 3% left, or when I disconnect the phone it doesn't turn of neither. How do I set it back to how it was. I already factory reset?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Samsung Galaxy S5 yesterday (moving over from a windows phone) and it's taking some getting used to. The lack of a 'silent' function is annoying, but the part that is strange is the fully charged notification.
I suffer from insomnia and I finally got to sleep last night, only to be woken up by the phone vibrating to let me know it was fully charged. I wasn't able to get back to sleep for hours then, and I'm dreading it happening again tonight! How can I turn this notification off?
Is there a way I can set the phone to make the notification sound for my text messages and not my email too?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe call notification icon will not disappear from the notification bar not even after restart or shut down.
I mention I have closed all apps from multi tasking and it still did not disappear
I would post a screenshot but the app crashes if do that.
I am having an issue with my S5 ever since I got it. Multiple times throughout the day, I hear a notification sound (like I have a text message) but there is no notification of any sort what so ever whenever I review my phone.
I did not have the issue on my GS4, and I pretty much have all the same apps installed.
Any app that brings down the notifications by clicking on an icon rather than reaching to the top of the screen? I have always used an app called Drop Down Status Bar on my previous Android phones but for some reason it doesn't work on the GS6, so I am looking for something new. I can't find anything in the Play Store with the descriptions I have tried.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, the talkback service has decided to tell me it is activated even though it is not. I have a persistent notification that won't go away. Since it's a system service, there is no way to just hide the notification.

I'm using the S6 on stock rom (Android 5.1.1.). However, none of the LED changer apps is working. Tried light flow, LED Blinker, Light Manager.I enabled LED lights under android settings, gave each of the apps the necessary rights, even priorities. None of it worked.Light Flow - > Messenger app color is not changeable, all others are (but somethings they don't work either)LED Blinker & Light Manager -> dont work at all
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhat this is supposed to indicate? It seems to come on once in a while for no apparent reason. As far as I can tell it is not an indication that I have a text or email nor is it telling me that I have a missed call or voice mail. My battery is over 50% so it's not a "low battery" notification either.
My LED blinks blue for email, texts, voice mail and turns red when I charge the phone. It turns green when it's fully charged. What this pink LED is telling me.
How can I add to message notification sounds? I don't like any on the phone so would like to personalise my message alert tone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night my phone started notifying me of SMS messages by a new pop up at the bottom of my screen. I use Hangouts and couldn't find anything in the settings in there so I switched over the the standard android messaging. I turned off all notifications and the pop up still was coming every time I received a message. This almost appears like is a system notification, since it is the same style as other pop ups. (ie: "copied to clipboard" when you take a screenshot) I have attempted to attach a screen shot of the notification. Hopefully it worked. How to disable this notification? Nothing has worked yet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Setup doesn't mention it, even in search..I know good and well though, there is a setting for it somewhere.I can always pull down the notification panel to see if 4g is available, but having it displayed at the top all the time is better.
View 4 Replies View RelatedCertain app notifications show up on the top of the screen as a pop-up of sorts in a white box. Like for Snapchat or Facebook, notifications show up on the top of the screen, but they stay way too long. And there is no way to get rid of that white box with the notification. Is there any way to change that?

View 2 Replies View Related I just switched from an iPhone to a Galaxy S6. I am loving the phone and everything about it...except the texting app notifications. Coming from the iphone I really liked how I could keep the content of the text private, but it would show me who sent it. I also had the notification pop up in the middle of the lock screen and turn the screen on momentarily, and then I could swipe the notification to the right to open it in the texting app.
For the life of me, I can't find an app that will do exactly that. I really liked that feature. I don't want a quick response window to reply from the lock screen.
S6 Active... notification bar has started occasionally freezing... can not pull it down... requires waiting or rebooting to get it working again.
