IPhone :: Keep Getting Spam Calls, Texts And Voice Mails
May 3, 2012I have a iphone 4s and after i got it about 3 days later i started being pestered with spam calls, texts and voicemails i dont know what to do as its getting a bit of an irratent. I've never given my details away and on the text messages im being called by different names as if somone signed my number up to places under false names? but i wanna know how to stop, im being called in lessons which then leads to a voicemail and text so anyway to stop this? (numbers seem to be different and it happens around 5-15 times a day)

Oct 28, 2012I have a S2 on UK Vodafone contract even though I am currently living in NZ. My phone is a UK model.UK Vodafone have terminated the Passport service as of 1st November which means I now go on to NZ roaming which at �1.65/NZ$3.30 a minute is somewhat steep - I also pay that amount for the incoming call.I now need to block all incoming calls on my phone so as I am not tempted to answer calls at odd times of the day or night (quite hard when we are 13 hours ahead of UK and totally out of sync with them) and pay extortionate amounts of money BUT I need to leave the phone available to make and receive text messages.It is not as easy as to just get a NZ phone contract as this was my life line with friends and family in UK until my provider pulled the passport service so need to disable the phone I have.how to do this so as I can still send/receive text but NOT receive voice calls on my S2?

Jan 21, 2015I have an LG G3 and I was having some issues with the audio jack on it. I contacted LG and they said that since it is still under warranty I can mail it out to them, but my phone will be away for at least a week. I get called frequently from my work and thought if I set up Google Voice on it perhaps I would be able to at least receive messages on our Samsung Tab S 10.5. I went to Google Voice and set it up using my existing number with the Google Voice on Sprint.
It went through no problem, I was able to verify the phone and everything. Thing is, my fiance and I share the same tablet and when I looked at the call forwarding email, I realized it was to my fiance's email and not to me. I had accidentally signed up for Google Voice for my phone under his email account. So I went to disable Google Voice on Sprint after waiting 15 minutes or so for all the services to fully implement and tried to set it up under my email. I got to the verifying the phone number part, hit call me now, and nothing would go through. I tried several times and still nothing. I tried making a call from my phone and it says "we could not complete your call, please try again".
I called Sprint and explained everything to them. We went through several steps of resetting and reactivating the phone and still nothing. Whenever somebody tries to call me they get the same message "we could not complete your call, please try again." It shows that I'm connected to the network service no problem on Sprint's end and that something with Google Voice is locking me out. What am I supposed to do? I've gone through both my fiance's and my account and removed all traces of my phone number, hoping that I would be able to reset it but still nothing.
Both accounts for Google Voice say that we need to get a Google number and that there is no number associated with either accounts. I really don't know what to do as my phone is doing the lights on nobody home sort of thing. I can still use the internet with wifi no problem and can even use the mobile data to do searches on the Internet, I just can't make or receive calls or messages.
Galaxy S6 :: Star Icon For Notification Of Texts?
Aug 21, 2015Yesterday I updated to 5.1.1. I use handcent and now when I get a text message it shows the normal icon as it is coming through, but then it just goes to a star icon. If I pull down the menu, it shows the normal icon. After doing some research I found something that says it is interruption mode, but my phone does not have anything in settings or by pressing the volume button doesn't give those options either. How to remove the star icon? I have different icons set up for different people and I would like to be able to look at the notification bar to see who it is from without having to swipe down.

May 24, 2011when I make a call it immediately says "call ended/closed" and when I enter *110# I get this message: Connections problems or invalid MMI-code.When I restart my phone, maybe repeting that process like 10 times then I can send/recieve calls/texts, but only for a brief moment.Before it wasn't as bad... I always got the Connection problem message after a I've made a phone call. But now it is bugging me 24/7.I have resetted my phone, I've even upgraded it. Still nothing.I have changed network operator. Still nothing.I have inserted my phone card into another phone and with that phone I have no problems.So I suspect it most be my phone's fault. May 2, 2012I want to turn off phone calls/texts but still be able to use 3G and/or GPS on my iPhone 4S."use airplane mode" or "put it on silent". That won't work. When I'm running I'm using Nike+ GPS or Runkeeper. These apps use the 3G and GPS connection so Airplane mode is not an option. Airplane mode stops my GPS and 3G connection from working.
Putting my phone on silent does not help. It interrupts the music and vibrates in my pocket. If I turn off vibrate then my doesn't vibrate but it still interrupts the music. The music will fade out and the phone will "silently" be ringing until it goes to voicemail and then the music fade back in. Plus, if I get a text message then the phone will fade out the music for just a second and then back again even if I have it on silent mode. I don't want that. Its a disruption I would rather not have. I want to recieve no communications while I'm running but still be able to use my phone's GPS/3G connection for Nike+ and/or Runkeeper.
I need an option that just turns off phone calls and text messages temporaily while I'm running without turning off GPS and 3G. I wish Apple would add an option in settings to turn off Text Messaging and incoming Phone Calls seperatley from everything else. This could useful since we use our phones for so much more than talking these days.

Galaxy S6 :: Google Voice Voicemail Notification Delay?
May 27, 2015I am using a Verizon Galaxy S6 and have been using Google Voice for voicemails. Recently, I discovered that sometimes my voicemails come through several hours after the call. This does not happen all of the time, but it does happen some. It is also pretty inconvenient. I do not want to go into the app and press refresh after missing a call, just to see if I have a voicemail. I did not have this issue with my Galaxy S3 or Moto X. Also, I have the sync, notification, etc settings all good to go.

Jul 20, 2011I have a blackberry curve 8330. The vibrate works well, but anytime I set the phone to normal or loud, it will not ring at all. I can hear the ringtones phone in the media section quite clearly but that's all. I have tried switching ringtones, I have checked all my settings, I have taken the battery out and put it back in, the phone is not on mute. I have even downloaded my own ringtone to the phone and that doesn't work either.

Samsung Galaxy S II :: Not Making Calls, Texts Or Accessing Data Network
Aug 14, 2011So basically I went away for 4 weeks, came back, switched on my phone and now BOOM it won't call anyone, it won't use 3G or anything or even make texts.
Here's some useful information:
- I'm picking up signal, and can receive texts etc.
- when I try and call someone, it says 'you cannot make outgoing calls while call barring is on' (even though I've checked in settings and it isn't).
- I'm on o2 in the UK
- I've checked my status, and it says 'Mobile Network State' is 'Disconnected'.
- It's running 2.3.3
- I've got the Network Mode on Auto (as it always was when the phone actually worked), and also I haven't been playing around with the APNs or anything like that.
- I bought the phone legit from Carphone warehouse a few months ago, and it worked mostly fine up until I switched it back on yesterday. I'd had a few problems with non-wifi internet before I left last month, but nothing affecting making calls etc.

Nov 19, 2011I have been having a problem with a storm2 9550. I have wiped it clean several times to try to get the password to Disable with no luck. I upgraded the software and then I started to get a busy signal when trying to call out and cannot receive calls either. Same goes for text messages. When prompted that radio is off, i always turn it back on.. It is unlocked and still has Verizon as mobile network.

Apr 15, 2012My phone doesn't send or receive any SMS or phone calls even with full service bars available. For out going texts, the "sending bar" never completely loads. For some reason, this only happens in my city. I was away in London for the weekend and it worked perfectly fine as soon as I left the vicinity of my city. When I got back to my home, it stopped working again. I don't know if this is a coincidence, or if it just doesn't work.

Apr 19, 2011My Atrix was working just fine for the past month, and this morning all of a sudden I'm not getting ANY signal/reception. I can't make phone calls nor send texts. Sometimes the signal comes back but it's just for 2 or 3 minutes and then the signal is completely gone again. When I plug the SIM card into another phone it works just fine so that rules out AT&T's problem. Wi-fi works just fine. I factory reset the phone but the problem still exists. I am already out of the 30-day return/exchange policy, what can I do? Is this problem going to be fixed for the next update?
