Is there a non intrusive (as in rooting not required) method for "backing up" and "restoring" a Samsung S6 (SM-G920I) stock ROM.
Not interested in any custom rom nor any tinkering. this is strictly for recovery option should the operating system ever get corrupt or get malware.
I removed/uninstalled the stock gallery app. Even though I have google photo installed, I got an error message when I try to access gallery by clicking the gallery icon in the samsung stock camera app. I also could not set the wallpaper for the lock screen, as when I click the gallery icon in the setting screen, it gave me similar error message saying "app not installed". How I could restore the stock gallery app, or change the default app to google photo (preferred option).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI attempted to update my iphone 3 using itunes. I'm not certain but I believe I did a backup on my pc first. I am now unable to use the phone at all - the slide bar won't move and I have a camera icon next to the slide bar which is not responsive. I have tried to sync and even left the phone connected to the pc overnight. The phone is going flat within a couple of hours and won't stop beeping every few seconds and seems to be syncing all the time, even when disconnected from pc. I am fearful that I have lost all my contacts - nothing is working?

I have an iPhone 3gs i want to sell that has 3.1.3 on it with jailbreak a la Spirit and unlock a la blacksn0w. I have apps and personal data on there, and did the SHSH blob backup of 3.1.3 to Cydia right before 4.0 came out. Is there any easier way to restore it to stock than put 3.1.3 on there again (I fear it will not be accepted or some error even though I have the "blob backup" a noobie in that department and just followed instructions from a dev's twitter). Is there an easier way to restore the phone to clean, re-JB and re-unlock? Maybe like manually wipe all contacts, photos, and apps (that should take care of my personal data, right)?
Also, only going to sell my 3GS if iPhone 4 is not unlocked before the end of the summer. I'm going to Europe in the Fall and if this isnt the case, I'll just be bringing 3GS with me .
Is it possible to restore missing stock applications? namely filemanager and browser yes I know I can get similiar functioning apps on market but I want the stock ones back if possible

At the command fastboot flash system C:anglerimagessystem.img and it has sat here for over an hour and a half now with the output of writing 'system'. If I'm not mistaken, my phone is basically bricked at this point, as all I have written to the phone right now is recovery and bootloader really, and since I flashed the stock bootloader that means it is relocked.
Is there any way I can unlock it from here and then flash TWRP again, and then restore one of my backups of my 6P to at least get it working again?
When I back up to the cloud, all the photos in the gallery app copy. Pictures listed in the photos album do not. What should I do.

We're talking 2 seconds from within a message to back out to the conversation...and then another 2 seconds to back out of the conversation to the home screen.
I am doing a factory reset on DH's phone since Lolliflop wormed it's way into his life and he's not a happy camper. Using Verizon Cloud, his messages and call history have successfully been backed up but he gets a notification that cloud contacts backup has failed. And in the Cloud app it's self, there is always a "update pending" next to his 121 contacts. If I force it to back up, it backs up messages and call history but won't back up contacts. What to do about this?

I am having no luck in diagnosing a problem with my bluetooth(won't turn on) , Samsung has suggested doing a Hard re set ,in hopes of fixing the problem. Loving the phone, but was surprised not to see raw support and shutter speed ability in the stock camera app, as last may I was convinced I had read that it was going to have an 'exciting' camera update. After some research, I discovered this had been updated and implemented in Android 5.1.1.
So does this mean even with the impending 6.0 update, that the only way to use raw or tinker with the shutter speed will be via a third party app? If so that seems a bit lame..
I do love my lg g4 but compared to the s6 edge it looks ancient, the camera capabilities are simply amazing though. That's why I don't get why Samsung hasn't made it accessible from their own app?
My phone is currently rooted, with a different kernel and running deodexed XtreStoLite. How to go back to stock? I want to trade my phone in soon at T-Mobile and I know they'll notice the phone is rooted, since it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" when booting up. Everything works fine, though. I know in most people's case that text only shows for bootloop, but mine works fine.
