Do i need to flash pit to the phone?
I root my S6 without trigering knox. But I know if I install custom recovery that will triger knox. So is it possible to install custom rom with stock recovery? Do I have to rename rom zip file as update.zip? Will that triger knox?
I am on 5.0.2 not 5.1.1 yet.
I flashed to 5.1.1 T-Mobile when it came out, then learned it was a leak and wasn't ready for release yet. Unsurprisingly I'm having issues with System crashing, etc. I tried to flash back to 5.0.2 and I end up in a bootloop.
I'm stuck! The only ROM that seems to work now is 5.1.1, all others get me stuck in a bootloop in which I must use TWRP to flash back to 5.1.1. How to be able to go back to a stable 5.0.2!
I see that when i use odin to restore i used this to see if it will get rid of lags or not .... I started a thread about the lag i am facing but apparently odin does not format the device my only hope to get this device running smoothly is this method ....

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust updated from a nexus 5 to galaxy S6 and wondering if there's any way to get the stock android lock screen to display?I need to use a pin due to work restrictions on the phone, so can't disable the normal lock screen to use an alternative widget - I've tried a few of these but just get two lock screens. I prefer the stock lock screen as there's more spacing between the numbers (easier for fat fingers).Phone isn't rooted. Android 5.1 using nova launcher.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSome reason a monster energy wallpaper from zedge somehow turned into a splash screen that won't go back to stock even after Odin flash stock multiple times .It was only a wallpaper at that point now after Samsung boot then the monster energy logo then the t-mobile boot screen.Everything works fine just can't get rid of it even after multiple Odin flash to stock and factory resets

View 3 Replies View RelatedWould you recommend I follow this process? Furthermore I have a question about the stock android which would be installed. Is this considered the 'official' version of Android? I.e. will I be getting updates as soon as they roll out, similar to how it works on say a Nexus device? Or will I need to reinstall the whole OS everytime I need to update the OS?
I never used Android before this, having used BB and WP before this. Also, will the functionality on my phone remain the same? For example will the camera still make use of the laser autofocus? What functionality would be lost if I install stock? Would they be specific software features such as QMemo and knock code for example?
Is it possible to unlock bootloader, root, flash twrp and somehow flash the stock rom? If yes, where can I get the rom files for flashing with twrp?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have gotten my phone back from repair, and it is now empty. Before I sent it, I backed up the SMS messages using the stock messages app. I stored the file on dropbox. Now, I am trying to restore the messages. So, I go to dropbox, and export the file to the SD Card in the phone. However, no matter where on the SD card I store the file, the messages app cannot find it to restore.
//Note that I now have no messages in my phone. Do I need to make some messages to produce the correct folder first?// (Edit: I did this, and it made no difference)
why the file cannot be found?
I have tried in vain to try and import bookmarks into the Android Stock browser. I have tried various apps such as CMarks, XMarks and others but with no luck. Yes I have Dolphon Browser and Friefox but would like to use the Android Stock broswer for bookmaks.. I have heard some somes have the impoting of boomarks disabled on the stock browser, is this true for the xperia pro?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my new HTC One M8 (AT&T) when I receive a call from a blocked number it comes up Private Number in the stock android phone app, even though I have that number identified in my stock Android Contacts app. When this happened on my old HTC One V (Virgin Mobile), it identified it using the Contacts app. Any way to get it to identify it on the M8, without having to switch to a different set of apps?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed a custom recovery on my nexus 6 called Rastapop. Don't get me wrong, its a great rom, it's just not for me. I would like to completely revert back to android 5.0.1 because I loved it. I completely wiped the device before installing Rastapop, so I cannot simply "factory reset" my device.
I can completely handle the flashing process due to the fact that I am an experienced programer. All I need from you is the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 ROM, and the link to the Nexus 6 5.0.1 GAPPS (Google Apps).
Or am I just missing it? I just want to see my fb friends' profile pics pulled into the Contacts app, like with every other Android phone I've had...

I know many of us did not buy this phone for its camera capabilities, but given that this is part of the Xperia line, it's disappointing that this phone did not ship with at least the X10's imaging software. Sony Ericsson was content to put their on touch on many areas of the device, yet, they decided to NOT touch one of worst pieces of Android. Would anyone else have liked SE to tweak the camera software? I wasn't expecting Arc-status, but I also wasn't expecting such a low-quality experience on such a "high-end" device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOkay is there actually a ROM that I can flash to my US Cellular Touch Pro 2 to make it an Android? THIS THING SUCKS! I like the ability to have my windows programs available on mobile. Beyond that this is the most pathetic piece of crap phone I have ever seen! It does NOTHING well, and EVERYTHING takes 10X as long to do! My old Triton I could at least call and text from without spending all afternoon either waiting or swimming through endless drop lists of crap to do something.I have found lots of links to more links, that have links to more BS! If someone could PLEASE tell me is there an android ROM out there? If so, could you please give me some straight forward, from the start directions to flash it to my phone, and a DIRECT link to the download?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor those of you who want to view websites in desktop mode on your mobile I would first recommend you just use Dolphin browser. They have an easy toggle add on that you can go back and forth between mobile and desktop modes very quickly. If you must have the stock Android browser I have a trick for you too. Open up stock browser, in the url type "about:debug" Nothing will appear to happen. Now press menu>More>Settings>(in debug area) UAString>Desktop. You may have to refresh the Page for the new settings to take effect. Now you are surfing in desktop mode!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have questions about animated gif file(s) which is send by Android Gmail as attachment My device is non rooted N5 with kitkat (4.4.4); gmail is 5.0.1 (1642443).
1) Unable to open gif attachment as animated file in gmail, I usually use Quickpic to open gif file in my device and in cloud storage because Gallary dose not work. But in gmail i do not have to option to choose the app, the default image viewer in gmail ( may be gallery ?) dose not display the animated effect. So i have to save the file to my phone or to Gdrive to see the animation. Is there a way to view the animation directly in the email without save the file??
.2)Could i send image files in Android gmail as 'In Line' Similar to the 'insert photo' function in desktop gmail instead of 'Attachment', how?
I can't seem to get a working recovery after flashing stock images with and without TWRP 2.8.7.1.
I followed these steps to upgrade to Android 6.0 after verifying the md5 checksum of my download:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead....img [it looks the same as before, but I did it anyway]
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead....img
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
I have also tried with and without flashing cache
fastboot reboot
Then I go back into the bootloader and try to access recovery, but I only get the dead android with the red triangle.
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 7 (2013).
