I root my S6 without trigering knox. But I know if I install custom recovery that will triger knox. So is it possible to install custom rom with stock recovery? Do I have to rename rom zip file as update.zip? Will that triger knox?
My 1 month old s6 (920i) struggles to get a 3.5hr SOT during the day. Coming from the s3 where i used to easily get a 5hr SOT with the same usage style i can say this is pathetic. In the battery section top of the list i have Android OS and Google Services, followed by Facebook and Instagram.
Note that i have most of the things turned off except when using them, such as wifi, gps, nfc etc... Also i tried booting to stock recovery and clearing cache but this has not solved the issue. The phone does go to deep sleep as i have checked using BBS.
Been trying to flash Gaakxy s6 back to stock for hours. I get this message in ODIN

I'm new to the Samsung S6. Just brought a second hand S6 edge from eBay, and how to flash twrp recovery to the phone. It's been a while since I flashed a Samsung phone unsure on the process on how do it. I'm not really worried about tripping know....
I flashed to 5.1.1 T-Mobile when it came out, then learned it was a leak and wasn't ready for release yet. Unsurprisingly I'm having issues with System crashing, etc. I tried to flash back to 5.0.2 and I end up in a bootloop.
I'm stuck! The only ROM that seems to work now is 5.1.1, all others get me stuck in a bootloop in which I must use TWRP to flash back to 5.1.1. How to be able to go back to a stable 5.0.2!
I see that when i use odin to restore i used this to see if it will get rid of lags or not .... I started a thread about the lag i am facing but apparently odin does not format the device my only hope to get this device running smoothly is this method ....
Anyway as usual I don't do lot of research (I'm stupid I guess), so first I flash CF-Auto-Root via Odin and... surprise phone is stuck on boot logo, so I don't panic too much , I install TWRP via Odin and everything is ok, then I download a stock firmware 3483.1 MB and try to flash it via odin but oh surprise, it fails, on the phone screen say
W REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2 BINARY: 1
and on odin :
Odin engine v(ID:3.1005).. File analysis.. SetupConnection.. Initialzation.. Get PIT for mapping.. Firmware update start.. SingleDownload. sboot.bin NAND Write Start!! FAIL!

Some reason a monster energy wallpaper from zedge somehow turned into a splash screen that won't go back to stock even after Odin flash stock multiple times .It was only a wallpaper at that point now after Samsung boot then the monster energy logo then the t-mobile boot screen.Everything works fine just can't get rid of it even after multiple Odin flash to stock and factory resets
I got an m8 from a friend that had it rooted so he could use it unlocked on tmobile. I looked up how to get stock sense back onto it and successfully did that although the device is still rooted with TWRP as the custom recovery. How to get my m8 back to stock. like 100% stock. I want to be able to accept updates from att and have no trouble doing so. SO FAR i tried flashing a recovery image that i found.
I am not able to post links yet but it was the stock recovery firmware base version 1.12.502.18 for ATT from the website andromods which i read is the correct one.
I flashed the recovery image there^^^ and got the red triangle with the ! in it, then my phone restarted about 2 mins later and went back to the rooted sense 6 overlay i had but i still have TWRP on it. I thought i had bricked my phone at this point but it restarted.
So, how can I completely get rid of TWRP? I have a fastboot program already installed.
My Nexus ha been a dream. Though I've hit a few bumps, I don't expect to waste money on other flagships again.I don't need to be able to right this instant, but wiping cache is one of my regular troubleshooting tools. Upon troubleshooting an MMS issue I was having, I discovered my recovery wasn't working properly. Though I fixed the MMS issue by resetting APN settings, the recovery thing has been bothering me.
I am running stock and locked. I have done nothing to this phone to warrant it being my fault. The problem is simple (and a Google search indicated, common). When you get to Recovery, you get a droid on its back, a red exclamation mark and "NO COMMAND". Doesn't matter if you hold up and power, tap up, or get there from the bootloader. The recovery software is seemingly missing completely.
So just purchased my nexus 6p and after reading the index by Heisenberg, I came to know that I have four updates to install. So downloaded all serial wise.
But the problem is when I boot into stock recovery and select apply update from SD card it says sdcard not mounted. So how to solve this.
Second thing after mounting can I apply all updates serialwise one by one and then reboot or do I have to apply an update and then boot then apply the second one and so on.
I have CWM installed and I wish to install TWRP 2.6.3.3. I have the .img file downloaded on my laptop but I was wondering how do I flash it ?! I have both "ROM Manager" and "Recovery Tools - Flasher" installed on my HTC One. If I was to flash it, would my HTC One become wiped ?
My iphone stock on recovery mode and i have broken lock buttun.i tried all the program that takes you out of recovery mode but nothing helped..the only way that i can get my iphone back is to put it in dfu mode but as i said i don't have lock button so i can't. how can i put my iphone on dfu without lock button?
I have SOL25 ( ZL2 ) and when i bought it it had a rom ( D6563 ) which is Z2a rom i think so i put the sim unlock pin and i wanted to flash the SOL25 rom using flashtool but with no luck, i get error, i flashed back ( d6563 ) and it is working for now
1. Is there a side effect for keeping D6563 rom ? 2. SOL25 is supposed to be 32 gb but i only get 11gb, is it cause the rom is not the stock one ? 3. Can you give me a link to the stock sol25 rom ? 4. Any way to flash the original one ?
I can't seem to get a working recovery after flashing stock images with and without TWRP 2.8.7.1.
I followed these steps to upgrade to Android 6.0 after verifying the md5 checksum of my download:
adb reboot bootloader fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead....img [it looks the same as before, but I did it anyway] reboot bootloader fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead....img reboot bootloader fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash recovery recovery.img fastboot flash system system.img
I have also tried with and without flashing cache
fastboot reboot
Then I go back into the bootloader and try to access recovery, but I only get the dead android with the red triangle.
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 7 (2013).
When I got the phone it had some revolutionary thing on, and people say I need to flash back to stock ROM how would I go about doing this? HTC WildFire (Sim free) (From the UK)
Not boot up as normal. The farthest I can get is --ROM Manager removed-- recovery screen which was installed by a friend. How do I flash the original settings and system for the device using a pc?
I am currently running Resurrection Remix MM version. I would like to downgrade back to 511. Can I just flash a lollipop rom through recovery or I need to flash system image of lollipop first?
After OTA update device got stuck on Google logo and somehow recovery is missing, Android on it's back with red triangle. Is there way to fix it with locked bootloader ?
After Updating an X10i phone is going through a constant boot/reboot @ sony ericsson logo so i thought i should try a recovery, took battery out as phone wouldn't turn off, reinserted battery, plugged usb into PC and held Back button then inserted usb to phone , got Large battery Image with Flash going through it.Asked or software update and picked repair,Goes through Prepairing then shows list of phones , i pick X10 of course and it asked me to disconect phone fromPC, all the usual steps to do recovery again Says its downloading update....There is no software avalible for your phone yet WFT SONY?
Last night I pulled my S5 out of my pocket and there is a new lock screen that tells me "To unlock, enter the recovery password" I am very about locking my phone before putting it in my pocket, so I find it very hard to believe that I accidentally mistyped my PIN multiple times. I don't ever remember setting up a recovery password, and have tried every combination of passwords I might have used. I tried the google device manager. When I attempt to lock the phone with GDM, I get this message, "Google has verified that a screen lock has already been set, the password you entered wont be needed"
Every time I try the wrong recovery password, it tells me I entered the incorrect recovery password 1 time and all data will be erased. The only way to avoid this is to pull the battery and try another password. I have searched all over the place and cannot find a solution. I have found 1 other person that had the same problem and ended up wiping their phone. I am trying to avoid that.
So i recently switched to a new rom from my previous rooted one. Unfortunatly, i forgot to enable developer debugging or oem unlock in developer options before i restarted, so now my phone is in a boot loop. It wont go into recovery mode, or boot into the system. I can only go into download mode. My knox is tripped, and it shows frp lock. So far i tried flashing the stock 5.1.1 firmware using odin, and it fails on nand write. Tried flashing a new bl and cp, but frp blocks it.
Right, model of my phone is SM-G920T
Seems to be when i was trying to flash the original firmware, i got an old one, F6, when the correct one is F8. Went through with odin and seems like everything is back on track!
