View 4 RepliesI back my photos up using the Google photos app on my nexus 5, in fact I've disabled the gallery app and use the Google photos app to view all my photos. When my phone is on the WiFi and charging it backs up all my photos except one!! it always says "backing up... 1 left" but there is no photo awaiting backup.

I have them all backed up to Google Photos and don't need them also on my phone.
I read that if I remove my original pictures from my S6, all those pictures will be removed from my google photos as I am interacting with the cloud--instead of just my android phone. But I need to clear up some space on my 64gb phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX".
When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account.
Over the past two weeks, photos I've taken aren't backing up to Google.I have Lollipop, and photos have backed up since it was installed, but I reset my phone after Christmas and since then they aren't backing up.
I've looked at the settings and as far as I can see they are correct (auto backup on, over WiFi and mobile, etc.), but they don't appear. The photos show up in the Google photo app, but not on any other device. I can manually upload them to Google Photos. Photos on other devices will auto upload. I have 12GB of data allowance left.
What is the quickest and easiest way to back up pictures and videos quickly? Need to do a backup without being near my home computer...

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy S6 today to replace my Nexus 5. I am having trouble with some of the functionality involving pictures. All the pictures from my Nexus 5 are on Google Photos. I have Google Photos selected under my sync options for my account, but I can't seem to get them on my phone. I would like them on my phone so that I can select them to send to people and such in my gallery when I want to send an image using Google Messenger or something.
I was also wondering if there was a way to use my contact pictures from google or other places (Facebook maybe) on the S6 stock Contacts app.
My system is listed below. I have LOCATION TAG turned on. In looking at the INFORMATION on the photo, it shows GPS coordinates instead of the physical location (street, road, etc). Is that the way it works, or do I need to change the settings?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that Google Photos are stored in the cloud. Are gallery photos stored locally, and if so, does that decrease storage on the phone?
Smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S5, Lollipop 5.0, Verizon network
On all my previous Samsung Galaxy phones I could display my Picasa photos in the gallery, but I cannot work out how to do this with the S6 Edge (or even if it can be done)? I liked the feature because it meant I had access to all photos in 1 place... if this can be done on S6 Edge?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was recently noticing some differences in the pictures saved in the stock S6 Gallery app and those backed up in the Google Photos app. Even though I have the Photos app set to upload "full size"... there is a noticeable difference when it comes to clarity and ability to zoom. Is there a fix that I am simply overlooking? Because it's not even close to be honest.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have several hundred photos on my new S6 that came originally from my iPhone that show up fine in my gallery. When I open Google Photo, I only see very few pics, mostly what was taken with the S6 and what is on my Google Drive.
View 12 Replies View RelatedNow that Google Photos is offering free unlimited storage, I'd like to switch from OneDrive to Photos, but I can't find Photos anywhere on my phone. I could have sworn - in fact I KNOW - I used to have it. I checked Titanium Backup and disabled apps and cannot find this app on my phone anywhere. Searching for it on the Play store yields NO results.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor about a week now I've had an alert pop up on my phone stating that my "Storage Space Is Running Out". Â Today is the first chance I've been able to connect my phone to the PC. Â I'm trying to export my photos from the phone to my PC so I can clear some of the memory ... how I go about this?
Â
The second issue is that with my phone plan, I have a 1GB data limit a month and I have a widget on the home screen telling me how much I've used etc. Â The other day I got a "Data Usage" alert on my phone, which I have set to 1GB and to warn me when I'm near my limit (I've set to alert me when I have 100MG remaining).
Â
I don't want to turn mobile data off. Â I have my phone automatically connect to wifi when at home.
I did a reset last night to try to fix my overheating issue. Now I can't figure out how to restore all my photos from google to gallery. I checked Google under accounts and Gallery is not listed under sync.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a non intrusive (as in rooting not required) method for "backing up" and "restoring" a Samsung S6 (SM-G920I) stock ROM.
Not interested in any custom rom nor any tinkering. this is strictly for recovery option should the operating system ever get corrupt or get malware.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I use smartswitch to back up my phone, will it restore my phone the way it was after I do a factory reset? Or will I have to manually restore my settings or home screen or anything like that?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that backing out of messages has been getting slower and slower over the past few weeks. Is there anyway of speeding things up? I just don't want to delete my messages and I can't imagine that slowing my phone down anyway..or could it?
We're talking 2 seconds from within a message to back out to the conversation...and then another 2 seconds to back out of the conversation to the home screen.
I am doing a factory reset on DH's phone since Lolliflop wormed it's way into his life and he's not a happy camper. Using Verizon Cloud, his messages and call history have successfully been backed up but he gets a notification that cloud contacts backup has failed. And in the Cloud app it's self, there is always a "update pending" next to his 121 contacts. If I force it to back up, it backs up messages and call history but won't back up contacts. What to do about this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not very well versed in computerspeak , and have never had to back up anything on my phone. I am having no luck in diagnosing a problem with my bluetooth(won't turn on) , Samsung has suggested doing a Hard re set ,in hopes of fixing the problem. I would like to back up ALL of my data , contacts , apps , texts , etc. , but have no idea on how to go about it. I did a search here and became even more confused ! Will I be backing up to a pc , if so will I need a physical connection , will I backup with KIEs , and again , how is this done , and what , if any apps should I get to make my life easier , by the way after this , I want to update the OS as I am using gingerbread.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm now getting repeated notifications on my Nexus 5 (Android 5.0.1) about how Google+ (version 4.8.0.81189390) has backed up my photos. The same photos. Over and over and over again. It didn't do this in previous versions. I don't know if this is a Nexus problem, a Lollipop problem, or a Google+ app problem. But, how I get it to stop?
