View 2 RepliesThe Google search widget isnt working as well as holding the home button to open now. I type in my search, get the loading icon, it disappears like it's done loading but it's blank. No error messages. Can't find any "google now" or "Google search" in app manager.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my Galaxy S6 started only doing a Web search when I would ask questions. In the past I would get the little cards with info on drive time or sports scores. Now all it will do is conduct Web search and bring up a list of sites. What I can do to fix this so I get the info cards again?

My Google search bar is not in my widgets on my S5. I had it and now it's gone. I can't use the voice feature with my keyboard either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I press microphone to do google search on home page--sometimes 10 second delay.
On S6 I notice whether at home with wifi or out with only cell data, that when I press the mic icon to do a google voice search I will see a white screen for up to 10+ seconds until the word "Listening" pops up.
It is as if it cannot connect to the service to perform the voice search immediately. Once it does connect, I can perform a web voice search with absolutely no delay...
Under running apps, Google App is of course running. I did disable these apps but not sure any would make a difference-except perhaps Cloud???
Note: I am not syncing Gmail or using a Google Email account for contacts, email, etc..

Sometimes when i click microphone on google search, i get "Can't open microphone" error. First i tought it's about google app but it is not. When i tried to call a friend on Viber he couldn't hear me and i realized it is about all applications which uses internet. To be sure, then, i tried to record voice on Facebook Messenger, microphone didn't work.On skype didn't work.
Then,i called somebody on gsm network, microphone worked. I tried to record my voice on local application, microphone worked.Again, i tried all applications which uses internet, no luck.
After some minutes microphone acts normally.I mean it works everywhere. I couldn't understand when it works normally or according to what.
When i have this case, killing all apps and reboot phone not working.
Oddity is that my friend had Sony Z3, she has same issue.Microphone sometimes works sometimes doesn't work. So, i started think that maybe one app that we both have, always occupy the microphone and doesn't let another applications to use it. But why i can make calls on gsm network or record voice on local apps. Maybe they have higher priority on using microphone(?).
It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Now, i did a list of apps which uses microphone and i will try to delete or force stop one by one when i have this issue.
Another friend who has Sony Z3 has exactly same issue. So far, 1xGalaxy S6, 2xSony Z3
So I woke up this morning and noticed the Google search widget had changed itself from a smoke colored transparent look to a solid white look. I've done nothing that would alter this and I don't even think it can be changed by the user.Did it update itself and this is part of the update?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI didn't think I'd want the google search bar w/ voice on my home screen (the widget), so I removed it, figuring a small icon was enough and that I could always add it back later. Now that I decided I do want it after all, I can't find it anywhere; seems it would be under widgets, but not that I can see. Where I can find it?

View 1 Replies View Related...and not have them save in the phone itself (in the "Gallery" app)?
I have them all backed up to Google Photos and don't need them also on my phone.
I read that if I remove my original pictures from my S6, all those pictures will be removed from my google photos as I am interacting with the cloud--instead of just my android phone. But I need to clear up some space on my 64gb phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX".
When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account.
The only photos I see in my gallery are ones I have taken.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy S6 today to replace my Nexus 5. I am having trouble with some of the functionality involving pictures. All the pictures from my Nexus 5 are on Google Photos. I have Google Photos selected under my sync options for my account, but I can't seem to get them on my phone. I would like them on my phone so that I can select them to send to people and such in my gallery when I want to send an image using Google Messenger or something.
I was also wondering if there was a way to use my contact pictures from google or other places (Facebook maybe) on the S6 stock Contacts app.
When I back up to the cloud, all the photos in the gallery app copy. Pictures listed in the photos album do not. What should I do.

On all my previous Samsung Galaxy phones I could display my Picasa photos in the gallery, but I cannot work out how to do this with the S6 Edge (or even if it can be done)? I liked the feature because it meant I had access to all photos in 1 place... if this can be done on S6 Edge?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was recently noticing some differences in the pictures saved in the stock S6 Gallery app and those backed up in the Google Photos app. Even though I have the Photos app set to upload "full size"... there is a noticeable difference when it comes to clarity and ability to zoom. Is there a fix that I am simply overlooking? Because it's not even close to be honest.

Searching for it on the Play store yields NO results.
