when I'm trying to add my Whatsapp Images folder to the backup and sync within the new Photos app I keep getting "Unfortunately, Google Play Services have stopped working". I have uninstalled, wiped cache and reinstalled and tried restarting my device.
View 14 RepliesNamely, every time I open the Google+ app on my S6 Edge, then try to open Locations, the app crashes.
I've sent several crash reports, no use. I've factory reset the phone, no use. Took it to Samsung service, no use.
They've reinstalled all Google apps, no use. The odd thing is, my S5 mini duos handles G+ Locations with no problem.
...and not have them save in the phone itself (in the "Gallery" app)?
I have them all backed up to Google Photos and don't need them also on my phone.
I read that if I remove my original pictures from my S6, all those pictures will be removed from my google photos as I am interacting with the cloud--instead of just my android phone. But I need to clear up some space on my 64gb phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the international SM-G920I version of the S6, running the latest 5.1.1 update.Recently, it has started giving me issues in the Google Photos app. I am unable to back up any photos. When I go open the app and go to the Assistant tab, it always shows "Backing up 1 item out of XX".
When I go to the "Backup & Sync" settings of the app, I get constant toast notifications saying "Backing up 1 out of XX". I factory reset my phone and tried again, however the issue persists. I am able to upload photos onto Google Photos using my computer, so it does not seem to be an issue in my Google account.
The only photos I see in my gallery are ones I have taken.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy S6 today to replace my Nexus 5. I am having trouble with some of the functionality involving pictures. All the pictures from my Nexus 5 are on Google Photos. I have Google Photos selected under my sync options for my account, but I can't seem to get them on my phone. I would like them on my phone so that I can select them to send to people and such in my gallery when I want to send an image using Google Messenger or something.
I was also wondering if there was a way to use my contact pictures from google or other places (Facebook maybe) on the S6 stock Contacts app.
When I back up to the cloud, all the photos in the gallery app copy. Pictures listed in the photos album do not. What should I do.

On all my previous Samsung Galaxy phones I could display my Picasa photos in the gallery, but I cannot work out how to do this with the S6 Edge (or even if it can be done)? I liked the feature because it meant I had access to all photos in 1 place... if this can be done on S6 Edge?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was recently noticing some differences in the pictures saved in the stock S6 Gallery app and those backed up in the Google Photos app. Even though I have the Photos app set to upload "full size"... there is a noticeable difference when it comes to clarity and ability to zoom. Is there a fix that I am simply overlooking? Because it's not even close to be honest.

Whenever there are multiple updates in the Play Store and I press "Update", the first app updates, then the second one starts downloading, but the download hangs at some point, then after a few seconds the entire Play Store app closes without any message.
After that I can open the Play Store again and try to update the apps, but they only update one at a time, because on the second update it always crashes.
All the Google apps are at the latest versions, Play Store has version 4.6.17. This is happening for a while now, but I can't pinpoint it to a certain version of the Play Store app, but in the past I did not have this problem.
I've tried restarting the device, clearing data and cache for the Play Store app, clearing the cached data for the entire system, even switching the runtime (btw the problem is happening on both Dalvik and ART), but nothing worked.
I also have enough Available space: 4 GB as reported in Settings/Storage.
On my wife's Nexus 4, also completely stock and with updated Google apps, the problem it's not happening, so it's not something in my environment.
As of this morning, every time I go to use the dialer it crashes. I can go through people and make calls, but can't go directly through the dialer. I tried resetting my phone. Really don't want to do a hard reset, but if I have to I will.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I cracked my screen, changed it with OEM new parts, and worked great for weeks after the installation.Now, I'm having camera issues, back camera works fine, but when you switch to front facing camera the app freezes and crashes, and I get cant connect to camera black screen, and at this point the back camera wont work either, if you restart and clear data on camera app the back camera works again, but front facing will never work.I;m running stock rooted but I've had this issue with rooted custom roms and stock unrooted. I'm not sure if this is related to the screen change or not, but it worked great for weeks after the screen change. and, I;m having the same issue with other camera apps too, no snap chat installed nor any other apps that could conflict.

I tried to wipe partitions, make a factory reset, format partitions, flash stock 1 file and stock 4 files (with pit file inside). View 4 Replies View RelatedSo when using Dolphin browser on my S6, and visiting some sites [replicable for me loading up imgur.com ] the browser freezes up midway through loading it, and the page becomes unresponsive. A few seconds later the screen goes black, and brings me back to the home screen of the phone. After this, my wallpaper would be reverted to default, and while plugged into my computer I would lose access to the sd card. After crash like that from Dolphin on s6? I've since uninstalled it and have been using chrome for now.

The Google search widget isnt working as well as holding the home button to open now. I type in my search, get the loading icon, it disappears like it's done loading but it's blank. No error messages. Can't find any "google now" or "Google search" in app manager.
