View 1 RepliesI've disabled some of the bloatware on my phone in order to get better battery life, however as soon as I did that I couldn't access play store anymore. I then enabled back all the bloatware but that didn't work. How to get play store working again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe European Commission's DG Competition successfully forced Microsoft to allow users choice in the selection and installation of browsers.
Nokia's forcing of JokiuSpot, Qik, Boingo and Vlingo on customers and not allowing this bloatware to be uninstalled seems equally anti-competitive.
It would be nice to see DG Competition turn their attentions to the mobile software market. Perhaps this would finally rid those of us that don't want it from being forced to accept such software. It would also assist in ensuring fair competition in the mobile software market.
Motorola / Verizon take note: Your competition is starting to get the picture.
HTC EVO 3D owners can now delete carrier preinstalled software bloatware without rooting their devices.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge. Loving the phone, but was surprised not to see raw support and shutter speed ability in the stock camera app, as last may I was convinced I had read that it was going to have an 'exciting' camera update. After some research, I discovered this had been updated and implemented in Android 5.1.1.
So does this mean even with the impending 6.0 update, that the only way to use raw or tinker with the shutter speed will be via a third party app? If so that seems a bit lame..
I do love my lg g4 but compared to the s6 edge it looks ancient, the camera capabilities are simply amazing though. That's why I don't get why Samsung hasn't made it accessible from their own app?
My phone is currently rooted, with a different kernel and running deodexed XtreStoLite. How to go back to stock? I want to trade my phone in soon at T-Mobile and I know they'll notice the phone is rooted, since it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" when booting up. Everything works fine, though. I know in most people's case that text only shows for bootloop, but mine works fine.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy 920F has previously 5.1.1 from another csc, probably UK and the app freeze stock in 5.1.1 appear but now flashed spanish (ATL vodafone) and the freeze menu has gone i think.
How to come back ? appears that all the 100% apps stays in auto-freeze cause the notifications from apps disappear and lags considerably

1.TWRP + su binary = bootloop :/

Have KNOX tripped but i must have stock kernel + stock rom ROOTED :/
How do I get back to stock, from a custom rom?
I did a backup of stock, with TWRP, but can I just restore it or do I need to flash stock firmware with Odin first? (I'm on XtreStoLite right now).
Just don't want to brick it, so unsure if I can just restore, or I need to remove the custom rom before restoring.
I have a SM-G920F phone and I recently flashed the UK version of Lollipop to be able to participate in Marshmallow beta program. I didn't like it because it didn't support my gear VR and I went back to Lollipop. Now I have the UK version installed on my phone and I can't get rid of the Android 6.0 beta OTA software update notification.
So I would like to flash the Nordic countries firmware but my pc is broken and I don't have admin permissions for my pc at work. It there a way to flash it without a pc?
Is there a non intrusive (as in rooting not required) method for "backing up" and "restoring" a Samsung S6 (SM-G920I) stock ROM.
Not interested in any custom rom nor any tinkering. this is strictly for recovery option should the operating system ever get corrupt or get malware.
I'm about to fully flash my device back to stock. I have a o2 UK variant s6. I have downloaded the correct 5.1.1 rom via sammobile. However the worry I have is about the bootloader, do I have to do anything with it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI removed/uninstalled the stock gallery app. Even though I have google photo installed, I got an error message when I try to access gallery by clicking the gallery icon in the samsung stock camera app. I also could not set the wallpaper for the lock screen, as when I click the gallery icon in the setting screen, it gave me similar error message saying "app not installed". How I could restore the stock gallery app, or change the default app to google photo (preferred option).
View 2 Replies View RelatedBeen messing with xposed on XtreStoLite Deodex 2.2 with my 920T. I had to restore a backup that was working perfectly fine before.. Upon flashing the backup, my stock camera is gone. I see the folder/apk in the system/app location..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using samsung s6 with mtk 6589 cpu. What i did is i wanted to root it but failed because odin cannot detect the phone. So,i hard reset the phone and reboot it.After reboot it, my imei is gone ,wifi mac address is gone, bluetooth address also gone.
And also, my phone doesn't show its model number it put there ''Android''. Before i hard reset it, the model number is SM-G9200.
What I am planning to do is downloading the stockrom from samMobile and flash it :/ i wonder if this will work since it is an MTK phone. Odin cant detect my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've currently rooted my Galaxy S6 and I'd like to return it fully to factory stock without tripping KNOX. Unfortunately I'm going to return this device since the memory management issues are a dealbreaker for me on a $800 phone. Will flashing stock firmware trip KNOX?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to have support from samsung... Kinda tired of custom roms and also I want root so badly. So is there any way to have root and get otas from samsung?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt certain times, for example at the gym or a crowded bus, where there are a lot of loud sounds around you, the maximum media volume is not enough for me. I used to have Note 2 with the same problem, but I just rooted it and modified sound config file, but I really want to avoid rooting S6, since its a superior phone and i dont need any benefits root might offer.
So is there a way to increase maximum heaphone volume, without rooting your phone? I am using medium-range sony earbuds, hated the new Apple like S6 stock ones (by the way, what do you think of them?), and atm I dont have spare cash for a new model, so replacing the earbuds is out of the question. If not, what is the least-system-modifying root and sound mod? I want to stay as close to stock as possible.
Everything seems to be working fine in stock email except one thing. When I send or reply to an email, it disappears. I know it sends, but there is no record of it in any of the sent folders. In the inbox, it shows that an email was responded to, but it doesn't exist on my device. It is not view-able in sent folder from any other device like my computer on IMAP either.
The email makes it to its destination so it's not the end of the world. However, I do like to have a record of what I send from my S6.
How to change dpi from stock to lower? I have tried couple of times and always it's just bootloop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI root my S6 without trigering knox. But I know if I install custom recovery that will triger knox. So is it possible to install custom rom with stock recovery? Do I have to rename rom zip file as update.zip? Will that triger knox?
I am on 5.0.2 not 5.1.1 yet.
I had flash TWRP via odin couple times but nothing, it again boot into stock recovery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6 active running on 5.1.1. I was wondering if there was any way at all possible to hide the stock E-mail app from being seer, removing it or disabling it in any way. I have both yahoo mail and gmail downloaded via separate apps, so I'd like to remove from view the stock app. Also, does ping pong root would work with my phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed unikernel on my g925t s6 edge regular edge. Now i need to revert to stock kernel but i can't. If i do a fresh install of the latest build OI1 from odin the flash procedure complete successfully but the phone after that wont boot because it stuck at Samsung logo powered by android. And when i go to download mode Recovery mode is Samsung official and System status is custom. I tried to factory reset with recovery but nothing.
I have also tried to fully wipe the phone with twrp but nothing. After i flash the official lastest build with odin the system status is still custom and the phone is stuck at Samsung logo. I have to flash this kernel again in order to boot the phone. But i need that phone works with stock kernel and stock system. I also did an efs folder wipe, which means i have flashed another efs with odin and after that imei said unknown. Than i have repair imei and have my phone back to function. But i cannot revert to stock...
I flashed to 5.1.1 T-Mobile when it came out, then learned it was a leak and wasn't ready for release yet. Unsurprisingly I'm having issues with System crashing, etc. I tried to flash back to 5.0.2 and I end up in a bootloop.
I'm stuck! The only ROM that seems to work now is 5.1.1, all others get me stuck in a bootloop in which I must use TWRP to flash back to 5.1.1. How to be able to go back to a stable 5.0.2!
