For the first time in 6 years of Android phones, I just had an ad pop up in my notifications. It was for the Walgreens drug store app. (An app I do not have installed.)
From googling, it seems it's pushed from an app I have installed, but it should be easy to figure out as I've only installed 2 new apps on this phone that I didn't have on my last phone.
Just recently reset my phone, and am now noticing that the notifications are not popping up like they are supposed to when you are browsing the web and a text arrives. They just go to the notification bar and I do not get a choice to swipe them up or away.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to root my SGSII. I downloaded Odin3 v.1.85 and clicked on the .exe file, but i get a pop up in Korean + the English letters ini. When I dismiss the pop-up the Odin3 window flashes on my desktop screen for a split second but won't stay up there permanently for me to finish rooting my phone. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Is there another link to download Odin3 that doesn't have this issue?

Sometimes it's kind of inappropriate like some kind of dirty email or something. I've never seen these before and I don't look at anything bad on my phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMe and 2 of friends are facing the same issue with galaxy s6, galaxy s6 edge . I tried to google it but found no solution.I keep randomly getting a popup message that says:
OPEN CHANNEL
connect to server
Cancel Ok
Even if the phone is locked and the screen is off, the message pop up unlock the phone and appears for 3-5 seconds and then disappear and the phone get bac to be locked and screen is off.
got an s6 edge and the message "the dock is connected" constantly keeps popping up on the screen. my phone is overheating because of this and its draining my battery.

The phone connects perfectly fine and it says it is connected, but whenever I attempt to use the internet nothing will load at all. The wifi bars are there and are full, but nothing works. In wifi settings it says it is connected. On all of the other desktops, laptops, and mobile devices in the house the same wifi works perfectly fine. So, I have come to the conclusion that it must be something having to do with the phone.

I am using an S6 for the last couple of weeks and noted that notifications are not being received. They are received when I open an app or connect to Wi-Fi. This is happening for Whatsapp, hangouts, messenger, google play. (there might be other apps too).

The thing is, I never need notifications for appointments, I look at the calendar from time to time anyway. So, I allways turn of the notifications but I still get them, the kind of turn themselves back on after a while and I get both notifications by push AND by email.

EE says I am not to call the number as it is probably a scam but I cannot get rid of the notification. I have added it to my Blocked callers list, I have deleted it but it comes back after a second. Snapchat notifications are, calendar event reminders are, but Gmail and Textra notifications aren't etc. I installed a third party app to fill in the blanks and provide notifications where TW didn't, but it's weird that it's not consistent.

The notifications work fine on my M8 but I've never been able to get them working on my S6 nor was I able to do so on my Note 4. Is that a Samsung issue? I end up missing important info sometimes just because I don't get notified.
