Galaxy S6 :: Calendar Reminders Stopped Popping Up
Nov 4, 2015
Recently my Samsung Galaxy S6 has stopped showing me calendar reminders. I feel the phone quickly vibrate when there should be a reminder, but nothing pops up like it used to.
Everytime i add an event to my stock calendar i get an email reminding me of the event. How do i turn this off? Tried turning it off when creating the event but still getting emails.
The keyboard on my HTC Wildfire has suddenly stopped popping up when I tap on a text box. Have checked settings and it all looks ok. Removed battery and sim and then rebooted but still cant bring keyboard up
I started having this problem randomly 2 months ago, and when I put appointments on my calendar, they do not notify me, I checked all my settings and profiles and everything is set up, I don't even get the pop up message for the reminder. I even did a backup, clean install of the blackberry with the newest software, restored my messages and contacts etc, and the same issue still occurs...
Had my torch for a week now, all works great except I get no reminders at all from the calendar for appointments, no pop up on screen, no tones or vibrates. If I set a reminder alarm then that works, so does the alarm clock in the morning and all of my message alerts, phone, text, e-mail etc, but nothing from the calendar appointments.
After performing the most recent upgrade, I have noticed that calendar entries that I enter directly into my blackberry 9700 are giving me duplicate reminders. I don't sync calendar entries at all and there is only 1 calendar entry in the calendar, but I end up needing to dismiss 2 reminders for each entry. Interestingly enough, if I update the calendar entry, after that, I only get 1 reminder going forward.
I don't know if this is a problem with the Calendar app, Hangouts, my Nexus 5, AT&T, or Google Calendar on the web. I'm using my Nexus 5 and the built-in Calendar app to sync my phone calendar to the online (web) Google calendar (www.google.com/calendar). For almost all of my events, I've got a Reminder set on the web version to send an SMS to my phone via my standard AT&T, Hangouts-verified phone number. Up until a few days ago, I've gotten these SMS reminders without issue. Suddenly, I'm not getting all of them (I get some, but not all). There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes they'll arrive, sometimes they won't. Looking at the events in the Calendar show the Reminders are still set up. Rebooting the phone doesn't seem to work?
Also, as I was checking the settings on the phone to see if any of those could be causing the problem, I noticed a setting in the Calendar app for "Pop-up notifications" (Calendar app | 3-dot menu | Settings | "General settings" | Notifications | "Pop-up notification"). I turned it on, but it doesn't seem to do anything (I get no pop-up notifications when one of my Calendar events fire).
When I make an entry in Calendar on Outlook 2007 I get a message that it will not show up in Reminders because it being saved in to a file that is not supported. How do I correct this issue? The appointement itself will show up on my iphone's calendar.
I know there is a current discussion regarding calender event notifications[URL]..but I wanted to add some additional information regarding this issue. In furious78's posts, it states that this issue began after the Gingerbread update. I do not know if this is where my problem lies, and I will explain.
I am and Outlook user and I use a program called Sync2, which syncs Outlook and Gmail contacts and calendar.I recently had a corrupt Outlook reminder message and I also purchased a new desktop computer. To stop the craziness of the constant corrupt reminder, I stopped using Outlook on my laptop (until I can get to reformatting it) and I stopped using Outlook on my desktop until I got the new tower operating.
Saturday I fired up the new tower and finally this morning I got to syncing Gmail with Outlook. However, during the time I was not using Outlook, I noticed that I was not getting reminders on my phone from all my calendar events. It finally struck me that if I created the event in my phone, I got the reminder. If I created it in Gmail, I didn't get the reminder on my phone. I never really noticed this because I never really entered calendar events into Gmail. They were always done through Outlook or through my phone.
This morning I decided to test it and I created an event in Gmail and an event in Outlook. I received the reminder on my phone from the Outlook event, but not the Gmail event. I created an event on my phone.I got the notification on my phone and in Gmail and in Outlook.Obviously, there is an issue with the reminders that come directly from Gmail. I hope this can be fixed soon.
Is anyone else having problems with calendar events being sent to your motoactv? Everything else works perfectly and the calendar notifications is checked.
I have done a factory reset, but the problem is the same before and after... Calendar reminder notifications are not coming in when they are supposed to. If I haven't used my phone in a while, I get no notification at the time the reminder is supposed to go off. It's not until I wake my phone up that the reminder will just come in at whatever random time it feels like.
As an example, this morning (just did the factory reset before bed last night) a reminder was supposed to go off at 6am (set to be 2 hours before the event). I woke up my phone at 6:09, the reminder wasn't yet there, and sure enough, it pops up after about 10 seconds. Before resetting, it was the same situation. If I woke it up 20, 30, 45 minutes after the reminder was supposed to go off, that's when it would show up.
Of course, if I try to test it by setting a reminder that is supposed to happen in the next couple minutes, then it comes up like a champ. My battery is always in Performance Mode, so the phone is never in a "deep sleep."
On my old iPhone 4s a calendar reminder would stay visible until I had read it. My iPhone 6 plus seems to lose the reminder after a short period but certainly before I have read it. Is there a setting I have wrong.
I deleted a calendar event from my iPhone 4S after the event but it keeps popping up on my phone as an alert every single day. I might have set it to recurring which I don't remember but even if I did I deleted the event itself. I sync my phone with my laptop everyday but I don't understand how I get an alert on my phone when I already deleted it. The worse part is I cant find this event anywhere on my phone but it pops up before lunch time every single day and its so annoying now. What I should do to get rid of this recurring event that I already deleted.
how do I delete the calendar birthday reminders coming up on my phone. I know this is connected to facebook but I do not keep the facebook app turned on all the time on my phone. I have tried goin into the specific date on someones birthday and deleting it but it still comes up on m phone.
I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet. Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time. My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST). However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.
For the first time in 6 years of Android phones, I just had an ad pop up in my notifications. It was for the Walgreens drug store app. (An app I do not have installed.)
From googling, it seems it's pushed from an app I have installed, but it should be easy to figure out as I've only installed 2 new apps on this phone that I didn't have on my last phone.
I have the galaxy s6 and i keep getting on screen ads. I hit the multi task buton and it says its under "system" everyone else says its just under their notifications but mine are on screen and are quite annoying.
Today I have been getting ads popping up randomly. I open fb, an ad will pop up. I open Instagram an ad pops up.. Hasn't happened before. I've ran lookout and malware bytes and everything shows clean.
I am trying to root my SGSII. I downloaded Odin3 v.1.85 and clicked on the .exe file, but i get a pop up in Korean + the English letters ini. When I dismiss the pop-up the Odin3 window flashes on my desktop screen for a split second but won't stay up there permanently for me to finish rooting my phone. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Is there another link to download Odin3 that doesn't have this issue?
I am on a Galaxy S5, in the UK on EE. Running Lollipop 5.0 but with a new update that has fixed the no silent mode issue. I have just tried to set a reminder using Google Now with my voice, which has always worked before, except now the reminder sets my clock alarm instead of storing it in Google Now in the usual way! I've checked that the Clock app hasn't been set as default etc.... but to no avail.
