I've noticed that not all notifications are showing up as heads up notifications. Snapchat notifications are, calendar event reminders are, but Gmail and Textra notifications aren't etc. I installed a third party app to fill in the blanks and provide notifications where TW didn't, but it's weird that it's not consistent.
Is there a way to dismiss the heads up notifications on the One M9 without having to swipe away the notification and getting rid of it from the pull down tray? Its like...i don't want to deal with the notification now, i want to deal with it later after i'm done with whatever it is i am doing. I remember reading somewhere that google made a fix for this. Was this in 5.1?
I'm running stock Lollipop on the Nexus 5 , but the new heads up notifications in Lollipop doesn't work correctly. They show up, displaying the correct information, but the buttons doesn't work. This is causing me to have to dismiss the notification, open the notification tray and act on the notification from there. Is it something an app I'm using that's causing the problem? I've tested with both Hangouts video calls and the alarm clock.
The app works great but I don't always get alerts when new mail comes in. I am not sure how to trouble shoot this problem, the yahoo notification is checked off but doesn't seem to fix much. Anyone using the yahoo mail app have this problem? I know this may not be an Admiral issue but I figure I'd ask any way.
If you are on the phone in an application such a the browser or YouTube and receive a text message with Lollipop you now get a heads up pop up message. I noticed when someone replies to a group conversation, the pop up window lists everyone in the group conversation thread, but doesn't specify who sent the message. Therefore this makes the option to "reply" via the heads up pop up message useless, since you don't know who you are replying to. I tested it and if you reply, even though everyone in the conversation is listed in the heads up pop up message, the reply only goes to the one individual who replied to the group conversation.
I just received my S6 a few days ago (T-mobile variant). Got the latest update, factory reset it. Lately I've been having some issues with the haptic feedback and vibration when typing or receiving notifications. The haptic feedback when typing will suddenly be really unnoticeable or completely gone. I checked my settings in both keyboard settings and the Vibration settings under notifications and made sure I didn't accidentally lower the intensity. When I adjust the sliders, I can tell that the vibration is considerably less stronger than before.
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
I have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.
I was not navigating, just using the map function and discovered there doesn't appear to be an option to force the gps to use heads up orientation whereby the map displays in the direction you are traveling. It does this if navigating however. What am I missing here and what orientation mode was the map only function using.
I have a Moto X 2nd gen, which I got yesterday, and I got the upgrade to lollipop. It seems like my heads up display only works when I have a call, but when I get a text, I don't get the heads up display, just a notification which forces me to leave the app I'm in to reply, rather than just replying right there with the heads up. I was wondering why this was happening?
My 4s on Sprint will show me that I have voice mails , but i am unable to tap and play all of them? It shows a round dot next to the number or name , when I highlight that entry it shows me a play icon, but it will not begin to play when tapped upon, this happens frequently, i show all bars with the wifi off
Most notably is the alarm. There have been days that it is very loud and others I had to make sure the volume was turned up because it was pretty quiet. Luckily I was up this morning and waited for my alarm to go off. It went off but it was very quiet, if I was still asleep there is no way I would have heard it which is opposite yesterday because it woke my wife up it was so loud. I have changed the tone but it hasn't made any difference.
I just completed the Qi charge mod to my 1520. The charge mod does work, however the charger does drop off... Also I've noticed that the charge mod does not work through cases.
I have an IPad2 and IPhone 4S running the latest OS 5.1. I was texting with a 3rd party on my IPhone and was recieving responses back (all blue - not SMS). I was expecting a response on my iphone and did not recieve it in a timely manner but when I looked at my IPad the response was there. I waited around 5 minutes and still nothing. Then i dropped out of iMessage on my IPhone and started it back up and then I saw the text pop up.
Since day 1 on my Lumia 950 - unlocked, the screen brightness settings are not sticking. When I wake the phone from sleep (but not always) the screen is very bright. I have to manually switch through the screen brightness on the quick nav panel - 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% - 25% in order to get it to stick at 25%. Sometimes the auto brightness needs to be flipped off then on again for it to work. It is very inconsistent and I can't really figure out how to reproduce this.
In Battery Use, my Display uses 69.2% of the battery, even with my obsessive reset of the screen brightness. It was over 75% before I realized the gorgeous screen is partly gorgeous because it's almost retina scarring bright.
The voice navigation and re-routing only work on occasion. When i miss a turn, which is often because the turn by turn voice is silent, it just tells me i am off route.
I am currently using a variable stride elliptical trainer Precor 100i.When using device with watchband, the step count always shows zero. When using the device with armband, the step count is very inconsistent depending on the orientation on the arm (i.e. 40 50 % Difference Between workouts). When using the device with the hip clip the device is consistent within 5% which is good enough. In regards to the watchband. The directions say to not place your hands on the stationary part of the Elliptical. That make sense and since my hands are on the moving parts of the Elliptical I would assume that the multi-axis accelerometer would not have an issue keeping the step count.
I would also assume that the multi-axis accelerometer would not have an issue keeping the step count regardless of orientation on the arm (i.e. Up, Down, Side)I want to use the watchband so that I can get periodic updates on my workout intensity.
I'm trying to use the trusted face and trusted location methods for keeping the phone unlocked but it's been very inconsistent (title of post is wrong - shouldn't say WiFi, should say location). I can sort of understand the face one not working well (although I've tried the "improve face recognition" option many times), but I don't understand why the location method won't work when I'm at home. Does it take a few seconds for the phone to recognize my location?
I have noticed for some time now that my Droid can sometimes lose some of the recurring events in my calendar. They "dissapear" even when I haven't made any changes to those events. (If it happened once, I would admit that I may have done something and forgotten. But, I've had the problem for a while and am very careful with recurring events because of it.) Toggling the sync in the Settings>Accounts and Sync section sometimes helps, but often the best workaround is to make some minimal change to the event by logging in to Google Calendar and resave it. I typically add a space to the end of the event name. Once I do this, the future events appear on my Droid once again. Because this workaround does the trick, I assume this is a bug and not user error.
On Sprint Stock OC9, and rooted.I am wondering if there is a way to disable some of the system notifications like "Charging... xx minutes Until Full" or the "Location Set By GPS". These are rather unnecessary. The GPS icon can stay but I don't need a notification along with it.
I am using an S6 for the last couple of weeks and noted that notifications are not being received. They are received when I open an app or connect to Wi-Fi. This is happening for Whatsapp, hangouts, messenger, google play. (there might be other apps too).
There are 2 days a week that i need my ringer on at work for daycare purposes. So i have ringtone on, and the other 3 settings (media, notifications, system) all turned off. However, i still get facebook message notifications, and vibrations from Twitter alerts.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S5 and the S Planner-calendar. I am also syncing with my Google calendar. The thing is, I never need notifications for appointments, I look at the calendar from time to time anyway. So, I allways turn of the notifications but I still get them, the kind of turn themselves back on after a while and I get both notifications by push AND by email.
I have a notification at the top of my Samsung Galaxy S5 which says Voicemail message. But it is not from EE, it is from +447953222222. EE says I am not to call the number as it is probably a scam but I cannot get rid of the notification. I have added it to my Blocked callers list, I have deleted it but it comes back after a second. I still have content lock on my phone so I have not been to any dodgy sites.
For the first time in 6 years of Android phones, I just had an ad pop up in my notifications. It was for the Walgreens drug store app. (An app I do not have installed.)
From googling, it seems it's pushed from an app I have installed, but it should be easy to figure out as I've only installed 2 new apps on this phone that I didn't have on my last phone.
I've had my phone for a couple of days, and I noticed I don't get notifications for Gmail. I do get a beep, but I don't get anything visual. (What if I didn't hear the beep?) There used to be a number on the Gmail icon, showing how many messages I had.
So for some reason when I try to set up notifications within Twitter's own app, it always gives me an error that it is unable to save my settings. The notifications work fine on my M8 but I've never been able to get them working on my S6 nor was I able to do so on my Note 4. Is that a Samsung issue? I end up missing important info sometimes just because I don't get notified.
