my S5 tell me I am connected and my speed is excellent. However cannot open new emails, FB page posts or use what us. Keep getting a message saying cannot establish connection, tap to retry.have I got a virus?

I cannot access the net and get my emails or use a 3rd party browser like opera nor can i do anything. Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
I am trying to connect to a WPA2 wifi network at one of my company's offices and having no luck. My Droid sees the network SSID and treats it as a WEP secured network, so it only provides me the ability to enter the WEP password and not the whole range of WPA2 credentials. I have tried pulling up all advanced options I can reach from the WiFi screens without finding a way to change this. I have ICS on the phone.

I can connect and can browse internet but after a week can still connect to wifi but the problem is a can't connect to the internet I can't open even google and it says "Browser unable to connect to website". And it also happening at home sometimes i can connect to wifi and can brows to internet but most of the time I cant browse to internet and at my work until now I cant open internet via wifi even the connection is 100%. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a new S6 on Verizon and am trying to connect to the WiFi network at my office. I'm able to connect to the WiFi at my home, but that's the only other one I've tried.
The WiFi at work uses a dual-step authentication, where you connect to the WiFi and then browse to an internet site, where you are first directed to a page where I must accept their Terms & Conditions. However, this page is never shown on my phone - the browser just said there is no network.
In fact, when I click on Connect on the WiFi entry for my office network, it says "Connecting..." and then nothing. No WiFi icon in the status bar or any error is shown.
I've shown this to our IT folks and they have no answer - they simply state that everyone else is able to connect (although I have the only S6 it seems).
I've read through the WiFi troubleshooting guide I've seen in other posts, but nothing seemed to work.
I've rebooted the phone, "forgot" the wifi and re-created it - nothing works.
The phone is running Android 5.1.1
I've contacted Verizon support and they suggested that I do a factory reset on the phone, but I hate to go to such an extreme step. Is there any way I can debug the issue to determine why it is not connecting on the WiFi?
I have an issue with my Verizon S5. I suddenly have a problem connecting to wifi networks. When I go into the settings>wifi I can see networks no problem but when I select one to connect to there are two options, connect and cancel. For some reason the connect option is grayed out, well actually its light blue. The network I'm trying to connect to is secure and I have the password but even when I enter the password I can't select the connect option. I connected to a hotel network just last night no problem and today I have this.

I know there's an icon labelled "Internet" but it's actually the browser, not a simple means to connect to the Internet.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi bought the xperia mini pro a couple of days ago...i have been impressed with its features and functions and it really looks a real deal....i havent been disappointed by any of its feature...but today when i tried to acces andriod market i am unable to create a new google account therefore cant go through andriod market.as it says "can,t establish a reliable data connection....."i have been searching tirelessly on internet on this issue and have found that it is very common one....so i tried the following things but it didnt come up with the required result 1.i checked the "background data raffic" in accounts and sync.2.i tried to reset my phone wihout the sim card but nothing helped....now i cant try that Internet account trick as "Internet" is banned in my country due to some religious issues...the thing left to do is a "hard reset" i havent done that in any of my phones but i think i have to do it now...fortunately there is almost nothing that i have saved in this phone...i did take a couple of photos today but its not that important.....is it worth to "hard reset" my phone? as i havent done it ever since...would it be safe to do and not remove my stuff saved in my memory card?..as i dont want to lose my music and other stuff saved in the memory card....

I have successfully established the connection, but often have to reboot the phone in order to get the connection established. At this point, I have been unable to figure out the pattern of when I can no longer get connected. I have turned off all Smart Actions that manipulate the GPS connection, I have tried leaving it on all the time, or off when I am not outside, nothing consistent that I can figure out.

I created such network based on my laptop wireless adapter and configured a WPA2-encryption for it. Then I found this network available via Nokia 5800 wlan-menu and tried to connect - this caused an error "System failure: function is not supported". So that Nokia smartphones support only open and wep-encrypted Ad-Hoc networks. WPA/WPA2 is enabled only for infrastructure mode. (But my laptop wireless adapter only supports managed mode, ad-hoc and monitor mode, so I can use only ad-hoc mode to set up home access-point. And I am sure I should use only WPA encryption for it, because WEP is vulnerable)
Maybe I can edit some configuration file in my Nokia device to enable WPA-encryption for Ad-Hoc?
If Nokia can enable this function in later versions of firmware?
I also will be very grateful if you recommend some symbian-applications which can enlarge wlan-functionality in my phone.

I have a sony ericsson xperia x8, I have tried to log in to the android market loads of times but every time it says "can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". I have tried using wifi and changing the internet settings and not using 3g but it still wont let me connect! I have tried creating a new account as well but it just says the same thing!

Last weekend she asked me if i could update her software, and i did so from the Blackberry Desktop Software and updated to OS6. Everything was working fine until we found out that it only connects to the internet if i use data service, but i dont want to because we have wi-fi at home. When i turn data services and while roaming OFF, and put wi-fi preferred, and when i try to open a web page in the browser it pop ups a window saying "Data Services are disabled.
