Galaxy S5 :: Unable To Connect To Facebook Via Home WiFi?
Dec 14, 2014
Just bought a new Samsung S5 and I'm unable to connect to FB via the wif connection at home. We have a newer Linksys router and everything else in the house works fine (laptops, PC's, Kindle, PlayStation). Is there a setting somewhere on the phone or the router that is keeping me from connecting?
my S5 tell me I am connected and my speed is excellent. However cannot open new emails, FB page posts or use what us. Keep getting a message saying cannot establish connection, tap to retry.have I got a virus?
I bought my E55 yesterday, and I can't seem to be able to connect it to my home's wifi.It says the pre-shared key is wrong, but I am positive it's correct. I tried re-entering my pre-shared key in my laptop just to make sure I don't remember it wrong and it connected fine, it's just the phone that doesn't connect. My laptop says my network is connecting using WPA/WPA2 to connect so does the phone. The password is totally 11 digits, 9 letters and 2 numbers.
as soon as I try and connect my new xperia pro to the home wifi network, it seems to be restarting my wifi router thus bringing the whole network down.
After update 5.1.1 my iPhone 4s and iPad 1 both say "unable to connect with..."I have tried "forget network" I have turned off and on both WiFi and phone/Pad My network is listed and I have set the correct password all settings look ok to me.It just will not connect....
Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
I have a new 5c iPhone but can not connect to my Wi-Fi Home Wireless Network as my new phone does not recognize my password. How can I change the password and move on?
I recently updated to Software version G900PV-83BOK4 on my Galaxy S5. Ever since the update, I cannot access Facebook unless on wireless connections. All other Apps work fine. When accessing Facebook I receive a message that says, 'Can't connect right now.'
I've tried various things and can't seem to correct. There is a similar thread on Facebook for all Android devices, but no one seems to have a solution.
For some reason, a error keeps popping up every time I connect to my home wifi. The phone connects perfectly fine and it says it is connected, but whenever I attempt to use the internet nothing will load at all. The wifi bars are there and are full, but nothing works. In wifi settings it says it is connected. On all of the other desktops, laptops, and mobile devices in the house the same wifi works perfectly fine. So, I have come to the conclusion that it must be something having to do with the phone.
I have a new S6 on Verizon and am trying to connect to the WiFi network at my office. I'm able to connect to the WiFi at my home, but that's the only other one I've tried.
The WiFi at work uses a dual-step authentication, where you connect to the WiFi and then browse to an internet site, where you are first directed to a page where I must accept their Terms & Conditions. However, this page is never shown on my phone - the browser just said there is no network.
In fact, when I click on Connect on the WiFi entry for my office network, it says "Connecting..." and then nothing. No WiFi icon in the status bar or any error is shown.
I've shown this to our IT folks and they have no answer - they simply state that everyone else is able to connect (although I have the only S6 it seems).
I've read through the WiFi troubleshooting guide I've seen in other posts, but nothing seemed to work.
I've rebooted the phone, "forgot" the wifi and re-created it - nothing works.
The phone is running Android 5.1.1
I've contacted Verizon support and they suggested that I do a factory reset on the phone, but I hate to go to such an extreme step. Is there any way I can debug the issue to determine why it is not connecting on the WiFi?
I have an issue with my Verizon S5. I suddenly have a problem connecting to wifi networks. When I go into the settings>wifi I can see networks no problem but when I select one to connect to there are two options, connect and cancel. For some reason the connect option is grayed out, well actually its light blue. The network I'm trying to connect to is secure and I have the password but even when I enter the password I can't select the connect option. I connected to a hotel network just last night no problem and today I have this.
I've noticed that 90% of the time I am on wifi at my house Facebook will not load content. It will only show some stuff if previously loaded. My computers, TVs, wife's iPhone 5...all work fine on my wifi. The only issue is Facebook on my phone.
Did the update and now my iphone 4s wifi does not connect to my home wifi. It just sits there with the little circle going round and round. My ipad3 updated and works fine...
i have blackberry bold9700 version 6.0. i am using wi fi network but my facebook not working. a error occured here, the error is you are currently on a service plan that does not support this application, connect to a wi-fi network or connect your service provider to upgrade your data plan.
i have blackberry curve 8900 version 4.6.1.114 and i'm using the older version of facebook blackberry version 1.6.0 because i've read that you can use wifi with the older facebook version without data plan. however i still can't connect. it says "could not connect because a data service is not available...etc" i tried to turned it off and remove the sim card and battery however it's still not resolved. is there any other way i can use facebook blackberry using wifi?
I can't connect to my WIFI at home, I have been doing it for months now but all of a sudden there is a red star above the WIFI logo on the top right and something keeps coming up about hotspot login but can't figure it out
i used to be able to connect to my home wifi and download apps from bb appworld. then i travelled from the philippines to my work base in the bahamas. then i couldn't go to appworld but still able to open my facdebook and Internet. just today i couldn't connect to my wifi (it's working fine), even if i enter the password. i wonder what happened?!!!
I've typed in the correct password for my network, but when I click connect, the wifi status says 'connecting' then 'disconnected'. I have tried using Satic IP and also adding a wifi network, but they don't seem to make a difference!
Up until recently I've had no issues with my iPhone 4, however, as of late, the phone can't detect my home WiFi network. I have several other devices that can find and connect to the network without issue, and have power cycled the router to be sure. the issue is most definately with the phone itself. iPhone has no issues connecting with public WiFi networks at McDonalds, Starbucks, nor the Airport. As far as iPhone is concerned, there is no WiFi networks to connect to in my home. I can't remember if this issue began before or after I installed 5.1 on my phone. I'd like to try all avenues before fully resetting the phone, as I have alot of data, settings and un-backed-up photographs, documents, etc. I'd rather not risk losing. So far, I have reset the phone (Hold Home and Power until phone resets.), Reset network settings, turned the phone on and off both with WiFi turned on and off to no avail. For the record, I have searched out and read alot of threads on this issue, and tried many if not all of the suggestions contained therein. Most of these issues pertain to iPhone not detecting ANY networks, or detecting but not connecting.
All of a sudden I cannot connect to my home wifi, nor home wifi at my daughters house. It finds the connection right away, but after putting in the password, I immediately get a message "unable to connect to ......" I have tried connecting to free wifis at public places and it connects fine. The password on mine has not been changed, nor has my daughters?
I bought an iphone 4s yesterday, and last night I connected to wifi at a friend's house. This morning, when I tried to connect it to my home wifi, it wouldn't work. I've tried changing the wifi setting in my phone, and turning my router on and off, and resetting the wifi settings in the phone.
I have a D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router connected to my Telus high speed modem at home. The router has been set up for WPA-2 security with a 63-character passphrase. A 17" Macbook Pro (2010) (built-in Airport) and a homebuilt PC (2011) running Windows 7 (D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adaptor) are able to connect to the router. I have copied the same passphrase to the Notes section of my iPhone 4S and then tried to connect to the network. Passphrase is correct. Connection times out and says it was not able to connect.
