I bought an iphone 4s yesterday, and last night I connected to wifi at a friend's house. This morning, when I tried to connect it to my home wifi, it wouldn't work. I've tried changing the wifi setting in my phone, and turning my router on and off, and resetting the wifi settings in the phone.

Up until recently I've had no issues with my iPhone 4, however, as of late, the phone can't detect my home WiFi network. I have several other devices that can find and connect to the network without issue, and have power cycled the router to be sure. the issue is most definately with the phone itself. iPhone has no issues connecting with public WiFi networks at McDonalds, Starbucks, nor the Airport. As far as iPhone is concerned, there is no WiFi networks to connect to in my home. I can't remember if this issue began before or after I installed 5.1 on my phone. I'd like to try all avenues before fully resetting the phone, as I have alot of data, settings and un-backed-up photographs, documents, etc. I'd rather not risk losing. So far, I have reset the phone (Hold Home and Power until phone resets.), Reset network settings, turned the phone on and off both with WiFi turned on and off to no avail. For the record, I have searched out and read alot of threads on this issue, and tried many if not all of the suggestions contained therein. Most of these issues pertain to iPhone not detecting ANY networks, or detecting but not connecting.

It finds the connection right away, but after putting in the password, I immediately get a message "unable to connect to ......" The router has been set up for WPA-2 security with a 63-character passphrase. A 17" Macbook Pro (2010) (built-in Airport) and a homebuilt PC (2011) running Windows 7 (D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adaptor) are able to connect to the router. I have copied the same passphrase to the Notes section of my iPhone 4S and then tried to connect to the network. Passphrase is correct. Connection times out and says it was not able to connect.

I have tried both turning on and off the wifi on the phone. I have done the forget this network and reinput the wep password, I have reset the router 3 times. I am sitting next to the router and my macbook pro ( which is connecting with no problem) I have input the wep password perfectly.
