I currently have the blackberry bold 9700 for tmobile.I can connect to my home network but i cant use apps such as the facebook app or the IM+ app or any social networking apps of that sort.Whenever i do try, it says you need a mobile carrier internet connection or a wifi connection. I have a white signal(showing im connected) to my home network but nothing will work.
OK, this might sound like a silly Q, but when I connect my BB 9700 to my home broadband router via wi-fi, are all browsing data downloads automatically directed via the wi-fi, rather than via my carrier's network, or is there a setting somewhere that I need to change?
Like many of you , I'm having WiFi connection problems with my new BB9700.When I am out of the house, I can see my BB finding local WiFI hotspots and I can connect to them immediately. However, when I get home, my BB doesn't connect to my WiFi, returning the following error message: Unable to Connect Reason: Failed to obtain an IP address I have downloaded the latest BB software (now running version 220.127.116.111), cold booted everything in sight (router, phone, coffee table and the cat) but still get the same error. My foot hurts, the cat isn't talking to me and I still cannot connect at home ! Of course my Carrier's connection works perfectly as does their outrageous fee structure... (They are 3G, or Hutchinson Telecom by another name.)My WiFi service provider (PCCW / Netvigator Hong Kong) has checked the setup of my system and reports that everything is working correctly. I can connect my PS3, my laptop, my Nokia E71 without any problem and the hotline guy can see when I connect each of them to the system.I have tried different combinations of switching the usual options on and off on the BB but still can't get a connection.
I can't connect to my WIFI at home, I have been doing it for months now but all of a sudden there is a red star above the WIFI logo on the top right and something keeps coming up about hotspot login but can't figure it out
i used to be able to connect to my home wifi and download apps from bb appworld. then i travelled from the philippines to my work base in the bahamas. then i couldn't go to appworld but still able to open my facdebook and Internet. just today i couldn't connect to my wifi (it's working fine), even if i enter the password. i wonder what happened?!!!
I've typed in the correct password for my network, but when I click connect, the wifi status says 'connecting' then 'disconnected'. I have tried using Satic IP and also adding a wifi network, but they don't seem to make a difference!
Up until recently I've had no issues with my iPhone 4, however, as of late, the phone can't detect my home WiFi network. I have several other devices that can find and connect to the network without issue, and have power cycled the router to be sure. the issue is most definately with the phone itself. iPhone has no issues connecting with public WiFi networks at McDonalds, Starbucks, nor the Airport. As far as iPhone is concerned, there is no WiFi networks to connect to in my home. I can't remember if this issue began before or after I installed 5.1 on my phone. I'd like to try all avenues before fully resetting the phone, as I have alot of data, settings and un-backed-up photographs, documents, etc. I'd rather not risk losing. So far, I have reset the phone (Hold Home and Power until phone resets.), Reset network settings, turned the phone on and off both with WiFi turned on and off to no avail. For the record, I have searched out and read alot of threads on this issue, and tried many if not all of the suggestions contained therein. Most of these issues pertain to iPhone not detecting ANY networks, or detecting but not connecting.
All of a sudden I cannot connect to my home wifi, nor home wifi at my daughters house. It finds the connection right away, but after putting in the password, I immediately get a message "unable to connect to ......" I have tried connecting to free wifis at public places and it connects fine. The password on mine has not been changed, nor has my daughters?
I bought an iphone 4s yesterday, and last night I connected to wifi at a friend's house. This morning, when I tried to connect it to my home wifi, it wouldn't work. I've tried changing the wifi setting in my phone, and turning my router on and off, and resetting the wifi settings in the phone.
I have a D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router connected to my Telus high speed modem at home. The router has been set up for WPA-2 security with a 63-character passphrase. A 17" Macbook Pro (2010) (built-in Airport) and a homebuilt PC (2011) running Windows 7 (D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adaptor) are able to connect to the router. I have copied the same passphrase to the Notes section of my iPhone 4S and then tried to connect to the network. Passphrase is correct. Connection times out and says it was not able to connect.
I have tried both turning on and off the wifi on the phone. I have done the forget this network and reinput the wep password, I have reset the router 3 times. I am sitting next to the router and my macbook pro ( which is connecting with no problem) I have input the wep password perfectly.
My iPhone will not connect to my home wifi. My iPad is connected and my husbands phone is connected.┬ My cell┬ phone gives me the error message it is unable to locate my wifi address. Do I have an incorrect setting? How do I connect?
so, lately my phone started acting up whenever it comes to connecting to my home wifi.
this problem started not long ago. when im standing right next to the router it connects. but if i move a step away i start losing signa;. so even if im in the room with the router i barely get any wifi (while all the other devices work even from outside the house)┬
but when im out it connects to other wifi's (eg the McDonals wifi) and it works perfectly
i reset my network settings& restored my iphone but┬ it didnt solve anything.
I bought my E55 yesterday, and I can't seem to be able to connect it to my home's wifi.It says the pre-shared key is wrong, but I am positive it's correct. I tried re-entering my pre-shared key in my laptop just to make sure I don't remember it wrong and it connected fine, it's just the phone that doesn't connect. My laptop says my network is connecting using WPA/WPA2 to connect so does the phone. The password is totally 11 digits, 9 letters and 2 numbers.
Ever since I connect my gopro to my z3, I don't get auto connect to my house wifi. I will need to disable the mobile data traffic and only then i can connected to my house wifi. Previously, when i reach home my z3 will auto connect to my house wifi without me disabling any mobile data traffic on my settings.
My husband and I recently purchased the iPhone 4S. Exact same phone. His will connect to the home WiFi, but mine won't.Any ideas on why? We checked the settings and both have the same settings on our phone. It will bring up the WiFi name, and when I add the password, it says that I am unable to join.
