Jan 22, 2012as soon as I try and connect my new xperia pro to the home wifi network, it seems to be restarting my wifi router thus bringing the whole network down.

Xperia Mini/pro :: X10 Can't Connect To Home Wifi
Feb 16, 2011It detects our home network but when you ask the phone to connect it says' connecting... disconnected'.
I've checked the router settings and the network uses all three interfaces - 802.11g/n/b and encryption is by WPA + WPA2 - so I believe that these are the correct settings for this phone.

May 15, 2011I've got data traffic, and Wi-Fi ticked and I can see my network on the Wi-Fi Networks list but when I click on it and enter the password beneath Wi-Fi it says "disconnected".What's even weirder is that I managed to connect the phone to the internet the first time I booted it up for five minutes, but since then I haven't been able to recreate that success . What should I do?

Now it connects for about 10 seconds then disconnects then attempts to reconnect but with no success. Mar 24, 2010I bought my E55 yesterday, and I can't seem to be able to connect it to my home's wifi.It says the pre-shared key is wrong, but I am positive it's correct. I tried re-entering my pre-shared key in my laptop just to make sure I don't remember it wrong and it connected fine, it's just the phone that doesn't connect.My laptop says my network is connecting using WPA/WPA2 to connect so does the phone. The password is totally 11 digits, 9 letters and 2 numbers.

Sep 3, 2010Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"

-updated firmware 2.1
-made sure signal strength is excellant
-reset settings
-reset modem and made sure password and security details are correct
-used different modems and wifis to test the phone
-downloaded and used wifi apps ie wifi fixer etc
- read the hundreds of suggestions in different forums regarding this issue with this phone... noone has had any real success. maybe one or two people like i said, we have 3 of these phones with 3 different wifi modems. and have tried connecting to other wifi... it just refuses to connect its a shame becuase i can speak for the others in saying , if i knew the wifi didnt work on this phone we would never of bought it.
