I have a problem after upgrading to Android 4 Usually im connecting to workplace wifi by using static IP address setting But now in Android 4, those manual setting have been disable I cant make any changes with the router? How can i change the IP address?

My OS is windows XP and I have tried both PC companion and SE Update service for the upgrade. When it comes to the part where I have to "turn off the phone...wait for 5 or 30 secs, connect the cables etc then press the back button while inserting the microUSB into the phone"....then nothing happens. My computer just freezes after a few minutes with nothing indicating on the screen that something...anything is going on. I have tried this several times and for several days already.

As I correctly followed the steps from PC Companion, still the firmware version shows 1.6 version. The only change that I saw in my mobile was the Backup and Restore was added to my home screen.My questions are:
If I beckup my files would the software will update to 2.1 version?Even if I try to update the software through PC Companion, is it necessary that the software have to be available in my country ?Btw, I am using T-mobile operator in Macedonia (FYROM).
Regarding the gallery for every time we need to go to application manager in settings, clear cache. is there any permanent solution to see the files in gallery directly and how can i upgrade my android 2.3 to 3.2 or 4 version.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, I keep my 3G data services turned off. I have a wifi connection and the 3G connection isn't very good inside my house anyway. For some reason, every time I open Android Market, it tells me I have to turn on data services, even if I'm connected already to wifi, and then it keeps interrupting because of the poor 3G connection. Is there any way to force this application to use wifi? I have no problem with other applications.

I am extremely disappointed with Sony.I purchased my first sony phone Xperia mini Pro. With GB all 3 G data connection and all network connections worked perfectly fine.Upgraded to official ICS. Now I can not connect to 3 G data network at all.Wasted almost 2 days thinking that this is a problem with my network service provider.After searching Google it looks like bug in Sony ICS upgrade. I had a high respect for Sony. Now I feel terrible. I feel my switching from Nokia to Sony is a big mistake.I am from India. My workplace network settings:

Today I uploaded the firmware through Sony PC Companion to Android Version 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.587. After that my wireless connectivity that was working fine, stopped working.
My Wifi is secured and before I give the password, it says the signal strength is Excellent. After that, it says Signal strength is Poor and tries to keep connecting.
I update my phone, which is XPERIA MINI ST15i from gingerbread to 4.0.4 android version.. and I only have 1 problem.. I can't access any of my applications that needed an internet connection.. like google play and facebook, it loads super slow and the result is NO CONNECTION.. but my wifi cignal is at 3 bars..

I've checked the router settings and the network uses all three interfaces - 802.11g/n/b and encryption is by WPA + WPA2 - so I believe that these are the correct settings for this phone.
we have 3 mini pros, mine, wife and workmate.we are all having the same issue which is our phone will no longer connect to wifi we have tried the following-
-updated firmware 2.1
-made sure signal strength is excellant
-reset settings
-reset modem and made sure password and security details are correct
-used different modems and wifis to test the phone
-downloaded and used wifi apps ie wifi fixer etc
- read the hundreds of suggestions in different forums regarding this issue with this phone... noone has had any real success. maybe one or two people like i said, we have 3 of these phones with 3 different wifi modems. and have tried connecting to other wifi... it just refuses to connect its a shame becuase i can speak for the others in saying , if i knew the wifi didnt work on this phone we would never of bought it.
