Mar 4, 2015Almost every day, I get a random message on the S5 saying "contacts has stopped". How can I prevent this message from coming up?

Apr 23, 2015my Galaxy S5 keep showing the message unfortunately phone has stopped and every time I hit okay and it goes away for like half a second and then shows back up. I can't do anything with my phone at all.

Jun 19, 2015Earlier this week I updated my edge to 5.1.1. Ever since I randomly get the error message "unfortunately hangouts has stopped". I have never used hangouts and it has been disabled since the day I got my phone. I tried clearing the cache and it still happens. I use the stock texting app and have never even looked at hangouts. I tried to diagnose what was causing this, but it happens at random times.

Dec 7, 2015Im not sure whats wrong with my s6 but it keeps restarting itself. Yesterday was worse because I was texting someone and.. during that 20 minutes, it restarted itself 4 times! I did some experimenting these past few weeks, I switched my phone to safe mode for a day or so, and the problem never occured.. not even once! Back to the problem, I have a feeling it might be some of the apps I have (I dont have that much apps), I got rid all of my game apps but problem is still occuring.

Galaxy S6 :: Random Contacts Disappear?
Nov 3, 2015So randomly when I woke up this morning, I picked up my s6 edge and a number of my contacts were flat out gone. I opened up my gmail account that I have my contacts saved too and they were all gone from there as well. Along with that, in my messages it used to link a few pictures to the names of people I was texting, but now all the pictures are gone, even of the contacts I didn't lose. I tried resyncing and everything but that doesnt work because these contacts seem to have disappeared completely from gmail.
All of my edge contacts disappeared too. And again, I literally did nothing, this just happened when I checked my phone this morning.
IPhone :: Random Phone Numbers Appear In My Message Inbox But There's No Text?
Mar 27, 2012So I checked my text message inbox this morning to find a random number sitting there in between messages I had gotten the day before. There wasn't any writing underneath the number and when I clicked on the number, there wasn't even a text message... as if it was blank. What's weirder is that my phone didn't even register that I'd gotten a new text.. the number just appeared.

Galaxy S5 :: Getting Random Sounds While Using Phone?
Jan 26, 2015I have been having this annoyance where the phone would play a sound (it is like the sound the lockscreen makes when you set it to swipe to unlock). I hear the sound about every hour or so, but I am trying my best to figure out how to remove it.
So far I haven't did anything to stop this from happening, I'm looking for some answers to hopefully get rid of this.... I keep thinking that it is a notification, but I don't see one of them.

Dec 1, 2015I have an S6 (AT&T) and it is downloading to my phone random txt files without even opening any apps!
The two that are being downloaded are ScenenUserSleep.txt and miniclipld.txt
I removed the Pool game app from my phone (made by miniclip) and it seems to stop the miniclipld.txt from downloading but the other one I cannot stop!!!
Why is it doing this and how do I stop it??

Oct 15, 2015I transferred/restored all my info and apps to it used it all day till night perfectly fine. It was fast, wifi working fine, etc. Then tonight I installed Go Launcher on it and played with it for like 10 mins and then noticed wifi stopped working. I turned wifi off and when I tried to turn it back on it failed, I kept trying until wifi turned on. Mean while the phone was super super slow so I turned off power saving mode but it didnt work. Then I noticed wifi started turning off on it own. My next step was remove Go launcher but it didnt fix anything, the issues stayed. Next I reset it to factory setttings but when it came on, wifi was failing (and phone slow) even during the initial set up wizard.
The phone was completely fine during the whole day.And my biggest worry is that this is an exchanged phone. I originally got a supposedly new s5 from ebay, (from a guy with thousands of reviews/transactions and like 98% positive score) but eventually I realized the battery was fake and that the IR blasted didnt work. He agreed to exchanged it and I received it yesterday and now today the phone has already failed but in the weirdest way possible by being completely fine for the majority of the day.

Nov 24, 2015I woke up this morning and tried making a call so I hit the green dial app icon and instantly get the message:'Unfortunately Contacts has stopped working.. and it closes it'
I am pretty IT savvy so I googled the heck out of the issue. Here are the things I have tried. I started by going into Settings > Storage > Applications and cleared Data/Cache of several contacts related apps.I disabled the Google + app completely.I disabled all contacts syncing of all accounts and re-enabled.I made sure all apps are fully updated, even though when the problem first started all apps were out of date. Additionally, firmware is fully updated.Finally, I held volume up, power, and home button and wiped android cache partition.

Dec 18, 2015When I get an incoming call I get a message saying "unfortunately phone stopped"
I have done a factory reset cleared all the caches and it is still there.
What I did narrow it down to is the priority calling in the sound setting if I go to interruptions then select priority interruptions and leave "incoming calls" unchecked I am able to get and answer calls. As soon as I check incoming calls it gives me the phone stopped error.

Dec 8, 2015I'm running El Capitan on my Mac Air. I've had no problem transferring photos up until now. Hook up the USB, Photos opens and asks if I want to import. Bing, done.
Today Photos doesn't open automatically. I opened it manually to see if it would ask about importing; it didn't.
I checked "about this Mac/System information". The Mac doesn't appear to see that the Android is connected via USB. But it is. The Android is charging because it's hooked up. I've tried four different cords. Same result.
I downloaded the updated Samsung Switch. I've opened it several times, and plugged in the Android when told to. I've had two results: sometimes it didn't see the connection at all. The other times it tells me this kind of connection isn't supported, and to "change connection mode to media device".
I know there are various other ways to send photos - File Transfer, etc. What I want is to get back to where my Mac immediately and happily responded to seeing my S6 hooked up.
I've downloaded several updates in the past two days. Maybe one of those is the problem. I can't find a way to see which apps have updated. Any way to check that out? If the problem isn't the updates - why this has stopped working, when it was fine yesterday?

Aug 24, 2015My phone stopped charging when turned on. When off & plugged in the charging icon appears every 8 seconds & stays on screen for 5 seconds. It takes OVER 24 HRS to get a full charge which then is drained completely within the hour. I have purchased multiple charging cords & used many different outlets. There is NO water damage, however, since day 1 of purchasing this s5 it CONSTANTLY OVER HEATS to the point I cant hold it until I turn it off or do the 'cooler'.

Nov 24, 2011Love the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!

Sep 20, 2015I have gotten my custom mp3 files assigned to different contacts but the default notification sound overrides them so they all sound the same. I know there has to be a way to have each contact have a different tone because it was added as far back as s3 which I also currently still own as well and would like to have my contacts all have different tones so I know who's texting me.
