Galaxy S5 :: Why Does Phone Keep Sounding Notifications For 36 Hours
May 5, 2015
My phone keeps sounding notifications at 10 minutes intervals for 36 hours after each reboot. I tried several ways to stop this happening, to no avail. What can I do?
I just bought the galaxy s6 dual sim from expansys.com , the phone is great and i loved everything about it, except that it takes 6 hours to fully charge , I tried :
- draining off the battery. - using another cabel - rest factory
Every single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.
Is there any way I can stop Outlook (or Gmail if I can do it to just one account) from sending notifications (or syncing in general) outside business hours? from 5p-9a
Is there any way to stop app notifications on the phone other than having to bring the app to the home screen then pressing the app to check app info and then selecting stop notifications? This seems so bulky. Like is there another way of getting here?
I can't find it now, but when I had an S4, I remember seeing instructions on how to see all notifications that you've received on your phone (not talking about the notifications pulldown). How to do this?
I'm looking for simply showing incoming txt notifications on my Windows PC. Responding directly from my PC would be great, but not a "requirement" for me. I generally use Chrome on my desktop...
I think moto had/has their own app to do this (I am coming from a MotoX, and now love my GS6 Edge), so I'm wondering if Samsung has their own.
I saw this Pushbullet app, and it looks like it would work.
BTW: Extra credit for an app that will only send the notifications to my desktop if I'm home (or even better, within BT range of my desk). Don't need txt notification popping-up if I'm traveling!
I have an S6. And it has had the latest software update. Ever since yesterday, I am not receiving any notifications for ANYTHING, be it messages, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc, I only see I have a message if I click directly into the app and then it shows me i have new text/snap or whatevs. This is frustrating so much!!!!! Ive checked in my settings and I have all my notifications switched on, I even set them as a priority but still no joy! I have also restarted my device a couple of times in the hope that would work but nope ....
I liked just seeing notifications as small icons at the top of my phone. .. not these intrusive pop up messages. It's funny how someone else decides what's an upgrade for me. Is it possible to just get my little icons back?
It's a brand new phone and all the settings have been checked, the app has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times. The phone has even been reset to factory settings but I still can't get facebook notifications. I get no sound and no flashing light in the upper corner of the phone.
My phone updated to version 5.1.1, and since then I no longer receive push notifications when the phone is connected to wifi but asleep. Waking the phone up - by swiping the screen - activates it and the messages come in. This is particularly diferent because MightyText doesn't work until I wake up the phone.
I have looked through all settings and cannot find a solution:
- power saving mode is off - 'Keep wifi on during sleep' is set to 'Always' - I have no battery saving apps on my phone.
When working from my computer and so not to have to go to my phone, is there an app. (that will sync with my phone app.) or method to receive and send texts from my computer. Will it have a pop-up box on my computer?
Will it also show and save the texts on my phone?I am on verizon with an S5. I use the standard messaging app on my phone.
I just purchased the S5 and I am a little confused. I have vibrating on for notifications but when I get a notification the sound plays but no vibration. I have a different sound for texting and other notifications. When I get a text I get the vibration but not with any other notification. Vibration intensity is set all the way.
My new galaxy s5 has the Lollipop update....my notifications don't show up on locked screen....In my settings I have it set to show up....I have did a hard reset and factory reset and it still doesn't work....
When I have a missed call my notification only says "Missed Call / Wireless Caller" instead of displaying the name or phone number of the person who called even when they are in my address book. I cant seem to find a setting for this besides the "Notifications on lock screen- Show content" which I have already enabled. I also have "Show caller information" enabled in the call settings.
I have a Galaxy S5, don't get me wrong I like it apart from, when I receive an email notification from my Outlook App (because exchange wont work on this phone at all but did on my Galaxy S4), it plays my ringtone for my phone.
I have been in every imaginable setting going, and my notification alerts are set to beep, which it works for messenger, but any emails that come into my Outlook App and a notifcation pops up on my main screen it rings! I then think its an incoming call and it isnt, it will only stop when a screen swipe and clear.
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
I use the default Calendar app on my S5 with several Gmail accounts, all which have default reminder settings. None of those accounts will use my default for calendar reminders, even after Syncing and rebooting. I've gone into my phone settings and searched for Notification, Reminder and Calendar and none of those settings have default reminders. I can only select to enable to disable these options.
I have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.
my phone is acting strange. It is brand new and when i call someone or someone calls me it sounds like they are in the distance.i can barely hear them but they can hear me fine.
I've this issues on previous Storm 2 devices. Surprisingly, due to some irresponsibility issues, my 3rd Storm 2 is an insurance replacement and of course the first thing I did was upgrade to a hybrid OS.So on a previous OS I had the alarm settings set perfectly like previous working alarms on my older Storm 2's, but the tone won't go off. However, the Alarm shows the pop-up saying dismiss/snooze. So I upgraded to a newer hybrid, and of course the same issue. I'm thinking this issue is only due to my device since the alarm has yet to work. But it is definitely a necessity.
And I can't return my device to Verizon and get it replaced anymore due to the insurance replacement....well at least that's what the rep said when I took it there due to activation issues.
I have been experiencing an interesting issue since I upgraded to the official 5.0 OS for my 9000. I have my profiles set to play tone A for emails and tone B for SMS messages. (Tone A and Tone B are just generic tones preloaded on the BB for the sake of the explanation - I doubt the particular tone I have set is causing an issue). this worked fine with my older OS, but since the upgrade I have been experiencing random times when the tones will actually revert to tone C (which sounds like BBPro_Sanguine for the record). This occurs without any predictable pattern as a replacement for either tone A or tone B. Sometimes I can go a day without this issue, but the next day I may notice this Tone C alerting me for hours until it reverts back to the proper tone (either A or B depending on if the alert is for an email or SMS), and I have absolutely nothing to do with it reverting to the proper tone. I have tried a battery pull, but the problem persisted.
I got my (Verizon) G4 a little over 2 weeks ago. I've noticed that on about half my calls the phone speaker sounds loose/tinny/rattling when the person on the line is speaking.
I've tried every combination of enabling/disabling noise suppression, voice clarity and voice privacy, but nothing has worked.
I just noticed my speakers sound flat and have an echoing sound when listening to music and watching movies. I'm sending it back to Motorola but will end up receiving a like new device as the replacement.
I noticed that there are times I do not get an audible when the phone is charging. Whether it's with the home charger the phone came with or a car charger (from Verizon), the majority of the time, I do not hear the alert when a message comes in. This has happened to me with all of my Tours (on my 3rd replacement). I do not have any custom ring tones/alerts. All the alerts I use are the ones that come with the phone. I don't have any 3rd party apps which would affect the tones. Does anyone else experience or hear of this? If so is there a fix to this?
