I use the stock messaging app, and when I get a text message, my phone doesn't vibrate. Yes, I have vibrate checked in the notification settings of the Messages app, and every other notification vibrates my phone.
For example when I receive texts that are larger than normal, it shows 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, and 5/5 sometimes more sometimes less. It's aggravating cause when you should be receiving one message, you receive several texts. And they are usually out of order so you gotta go back and forth. I am on U.S. Cellular and have a galaxy s5. My friend has a s4 on U.S. Cellular also and hers doesn't do this. I think it did this for me also on the s4 and now on the s5. Maybe I'm just missing a setting?
My E72 suddenly does not vibrate or gives out a tone upon receiving a SMS.I checked the profile I used and the vibration and message tone were checked.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings but the problem still persist. Not sure where the problem lies though. When people call me, my phone does vibrate and the ring tone plays.but if I remember correctly, the notification light may or may not work at times when receiving an sms and the screen does not lit up upon receiving it too (if I'm correct, not sure now since I didn't notice when the problem occurs). This only applies when receiving SMSes.
I don't want to start using alternative messaging apps becuase I shouldn't have to. As a consumer and user of the phone, I should be able to use the stock messages app if I want too.
What I am asking today is this - Does Samsung will include facility to DISABLE the SCREEN WAKE ON FEATURE in the Lollipop update? After all, it really seems to be a complete NO BRAINER to include an option to disable this feature.

So I have a Samsung S6 Galaxy through Verizon. I also use the Message+ stock app that Verizon has placed on the phone.
My lock screen is disabled through a 3rd party app (No Lock), so when I previously received a text message, my screen would awaken, and a preview of said text message would show up in the status bar.
Now i had to reset my phone, and upon resetting, my phone will still show the blinking LED light, and make the sound associated with receiving a text message. However the screen no longer lights up, so now if i want to read the test message int the status bar, I have to hit the power button to light up my phone. Very annoying.
I have went through the settings where there used to be a checkbox that said "show preview in status bar and lock screen", but that selection no longer seems to be there. I will also say that if my screen is already awake (either if i'm currently using the phone, or the screen hasn't turned off yet), the preview of the text message DOES show up in the status bar.
I will use another app that just awakes my phone when a notification is received...but i don't want something that has pop-ups, widgets, and the like. I really just want my phone to awaken as it did prior due to the reset, without (seeing at least) any add-on's, etc.
i bought my mobile about a year ago. it was working pretty well.about 2-3 days ago, my phone stopped vibrating on an incoming message. It does vibrate during an incoming call.I have restored the factory settings, switched it on and off, took out the battery and put it back on, but nothing seems to work. Also, the normal message notification(the small envelope on the upper right corner) doesnt show up when i recieve a message. I tried to set it on general,so that it wud give the message tone on an incoming message, but it doesnt give the message tone as well.
when im the normal profile everything is fine, but when i switch it to vibrate for work and school, my gfs sms tone is still the mgs alert and still plays thru
I want to extend the alert when i get a message while its on silent. I have vibration on and it just vibrates once and i dont know when i have a message. How can i extend the vibration alert when i get a message?
Yesterday my N8 stopped vibrating when it recieved a text message , I enabled vibration alert in the profile and checked if it was a hardware problem by calling . The phone vibrates when it gets a call but it doesn't vibrate when a message comes ! I did not install advanced battery monitor also ! I reset my phone and re-installed the latest firmware also , but still the problem persists
I wanna ask about my C510. It didn't vibrate when message come. I'm using service test, all of them work except vibrating alert. Is there something about hardware or maybe firmware?
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?
Mechanism to turn off the vibration or mute the message notification automatically during video recording, due to the motor vibration sound always record into the video.
On silent and normal profiles, the vibration stops after around 20 seconds even though the incoming call persists. How do I get the vibration to continue?
Everytime I take my phone off of power save mode, my vibration feedback turns off on its own and I always have to turn it back on manually. What's causing this?
Updated to Lollipop last night and frustratingly I am now getting the same vibration notification for everything where as before it was for example 2 shorts vibrates for texts, 1 long vibrate for emails etc. Because I use my phone mainly on vibrate I need this so I know what kind of alert I am getting in my poket.
I first had vibration feedback when my fingerprint did not match for screen unlocking. But now I have realized that my phone no longer vibrates upon not matching my fingerprint to the records it's got. It only says "no match" on the bottom of screen, without any vibration.
Since I've played around with my phone settings I'm guessing it might be something I have accidentally disabled. So I went back to settings and browsed through everywhere that looked like relevant to my issue but did not succeed to find anything (tried enabling some features and checking the "no match". And my phone is NOT on battery saver mode).
I had a system update on my brand new s6 and now it won't vibrate for notifications it works for the keyboard and when it turns on and off so the motor is good. And I went into setting and it's all on. But I just can't get it to work.
I started using Hangouts again for SMS on my Verizon S5 and quickly remembered why I had stopped in the first place. I cannot seem to turn off the Hangouts app vibrations for new texts. See, I use Light Flow for all my notifications, and I have it set up to vibrate twice when I get a new text message. Light Flow is working fine, but the problem is that there is always a third, longer vibration immediately before the Light Flow ones. I assume it's coming from the Hangouts app itself but I've poured through every setting, turned off vibrate everywhere I've seen it, and yet the single, long vibrate persists. I've even gone through all the main phone settings to no avail. I'm also relatively certain that Light Flow isn't the issue; when I disable that app, I still get the single, long vibration from Hangouts.
How to disable vibration and sound in messaging app?
When you unclick the vibrate option in notification settings in the stock messaging app, it won't vibrate when you receive a text if you set your phone to vibrate mode.
I don't want my phone to vibrate and make a sound with volume on when receiving texts, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it vibrate only when in vibrate mode and make a sound when in sound mode without vibration.
Other apps like groupme allow you to separate vibration and sound mode, but can't in the stock messaging app...
I did a google search and a search on this forum but i could not find a solution. After i send a text i get a balance notification from O2, This notification vibrates. Is there a way to turn this vibration off (or only have it vibrate in silent mode, like i have enabled for my SMS)
my phone won't vibrate on notifications or calls anymore and it's killing me. settings > sound > vibration is set to 'always'. i didn't drop the phone or anything, so i don't know what it could be. the vibrating phone icon is visible on the top bar too.i'm using go sms pro and have that set to vibrate always, and even if i run the test notification, it says that vibrate is on, but it doesn't actually vibrate.
I just received my S6 a few days ago (T-mobile variant). Got the latest update, factory reset it. Lately I've been having some issues with the haptic feedback and vibration when typing or receiving notifications. The haptic feedback when typing will suddenly be really unnoticeable or completely gone. I checked my settings in both keyboard settings and the Vibration settings under notifications and made sure I didn't accidentally lower the intensity. When I adjust the sliders, I can tell that the vibration is considerably less stronger than before.
I am using Android 5.0.2 rooted by pingpong. I have G920FD I have a problem because I can't turn on vibration when I am calling. I want to have vibration when I am calling and have connection and when I call off on the end of my call. Where is this option.?
