Samsung Galaxy S II :: Music Player Not Working?
Feb 25, 2012So my music player in my s2 LTE is constantly having problems. At random, it will do any one of the following; pause, mute, go full volume and skip songs. This can happen while in my pocket, it can happen when the phone is stationary and not being touched. Motion controls are off. I've downloaded several other music apps and they all do the same thing. I've tried using other headphones. Sometimes it won't happen for a very long time and its no big deal, but sometimes it just constantly pauses or skips songs and makes it more of a hassle than it is worth to listen to music on my phone. It's been happening pretty much since I got the phone in mid December.

Dec 14, 2015I just bought this device, love it so far. When I use a Google Voice command like, "play Madonna", it defaults to Sound Picker and doesn't play any songs. I noticed Music app is not even listed as a choice. See pic.
Is there a way to have the stock Music app as one of the choices instead of Sound Picker?

Sep 12, 2011i've just updated the firmware (v. 52.0.007) for my nokia 5800 xm, but when i tried to open the music player application, it tells me that there is a system error. i've tried re-installing the phone update but music player still shows me a general system error. this is making me quite sad. i want my music! heck, it's an 'xpressmusic' phone.
been a bit disappointed with nokia lately. first the Internet failure and now this... don't make a nokia loyalist switch to apple!

May 15, 2015I can play the files through the file manager but not the google play or the default music player. I have even downloaded third party music players with no luck. I tried moving the files around to the default music folder, and even the folder with the samsung song that came with the phone. No luck.
My last phone (nexus 4) recognized the files instantly, even found the album art and organized all of them no matter where the files were located. I really don't understand what the problem is, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade.
Would putting the files on a micro SD card work at all?

Nokia: X6 Music Player Not Working
Jan 28, 2010The music player on my Nokia X6 is not working. It was fine for the first few days I had it, but suddenly it didn't recognise that there was any music on the phone. I have tried refreshing the music library, re-installing the entire software on the phone, doing a hard reset, and deleting a 'corrupted file' from my PC. All of these were suggested to me by Nokia, I have spent a lot of time on the phone to them and persevering at home, deleting all the files off the phone, reinstalling the Nokia Ovi Suite and Music Player, starting again with downloading music to the phone and refreshing the music library in the music player. None of these have solved the problem and now if I select refresh music library the phone gets stuck on trying to update the library and I have to turn it off then on again to be able to use it for calls etc.

Jan 20, 2010My 5 week old X6(Comes with Music) no longer recognises that the phone has a large amount of music stored in it. My Advent Notebook 4211 runs Windows 7 and happily ran Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Ovi Player for 3 weeks, allowing lots of downloads from the Comes With Music Nokia site. However, 2 weeks ago theOvi Player failed to start when selected: "Nokia Ovi Player has stopped working".
Nokia Technical Support merely advised me it isn't meant to run on Windows &. strange that it ran fine for 3 weeks on it? I Un-installed and re-installed the latest Ovi Suite an Ovi Player as instructed by Nokia, but to no avail.
Then, 3 days ago, after trying to back up the phone contents through the Ovi Suite, The phone no longer recognises it has any loaded songs? But, if I look at the phones memory via my laptop and its windows system, the phones mass memory clearly shows all the files containing the music on the phone!?

Oct 6, 2011My music player only works some of the time and other times it gives me an error message. Also when I set ringtones from any music on my phone(ones I bluetoothed, ones downloaded from apps on the market, and also ones I copy and pasted from my computer) they will only work sometimes. Other times they seem to reset themselves and go back to a default ringtones or say unknown ringtone and will not work at all. The only ringtones that work all the time are the ringtones that came on the phone. My friend is having the same problem and the tech at US Cellular said he has had couple people come in with the same problem but they can't seem to find a solution. Also when the ringtones/music player is not working the videos in the "Help Center" on my phone will not work either. There seems to be some kind of glitch. I just want to be sure that there isn't some kind of setting wrong or something before I take this phone back and get something else because I would love to keep this phone, but it's not looking very promising.

Sep 12, 2014And set it up so that when I plug in my headphones and hit play on the remote, the music starts playing. On my S3, it was really easy. I just installed the app, and when asked if I wanted to set it as my default music player, I just said yes, and presto! Poweramp all day every day. I'd plug in my headphones and it was good to go. But on my S5, there doesn't seem to be any way to set a default music player. If I go into my application manager and go to Poweramp, under "Launch by default", It says "No defaults set", but there is no way to press the "Clear defaults" button because it isn't highlighted. It's just faded.
This is the case for Google Play Music, and the default S5 music player app as well. When I go to "Default applications" in the settings, under "Set Defaults", there are only 2 options: "Home" (TouchWiz Home), and "Messages", but there doesn't appear to be any way from here to set any new default apps such as my music player of choice. The worst part is, maybe 4 out of 10 times, when I plug in my headphones and click the play button on the remote, Poweramp will start and a song will start to play, but the other 6 times, I'll click play and nothing will happen and I have to unlock my phone and manually press play on the Poweramp widget on one of my home screens. I just want to plug in my headphones and have it work consistently every time like it did on my S3.
