View 2 RepliesI just bought this device, love it so far. When I use a Google Voice command like, "play Madonna", it defaults to Sound Picker and doesn't play any songs. I noticed Music app is not even listed as a choice. See pic.
Is there a way to have the stock Music app as one of the choices instead of Sound Picker?
I posted the following at http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1616020. Discussion starts at post #16 in this thread.
============
some of us want a phone that has clear conversations, others want seamless bluetooth integration, even others want powerful web browsing and in my case, i want nokia to restore the music player interface regarding the back button to be restored to the way it was pre-v20.
as far as i can gather from the short time i've been on howardforums, it seems like this is as good a place to express frustrations about such items as these, wouldn't you say?
now, i do appreciate the input of those who suggested that this may have to do with having the mp widget on the main screen. i tried it and it definitely still happens even if i remove the mp widget and go from the music player icon.
So now the sequence is:
1. start music player -> get to music menu
2. choose music library
3. select artists (as an example)
4. scroll to the chose artist - so if you have 50 artists and looking for rick astley you have to kinetic a few times up and down before finding him
5. now you have to choose an album -- out of the 15 you may have of him -- more scrolling
6. now you have to scroll through the songs
7. pick song #12 let's say
So far so good, you're rick rolling yourself away to Never Gonna Give You Up and get out to the main menu somehow so you can do other things.
Now you decide that that was awesome but you want to hear Together Forever on his same Greatest Hits album. You'd think that going to the Now Playing screen, you could somehow just back out and get to the last list of songs -- Like on any other mp3 player I know. I've never used an iPhone but I bet you that's what you get on an iPhone.
Nope, Nokia decided that what you want is to browse your entire catalog again. So you have a choice from the Now Playing screen: either you get the menu and choose Go To Music Library and start from step #3 above or you have to start from #1 just to get to the same fricking list you *are* already on.
N97 v12 did not do this, the N95 did not do this, the N82 did not do this, the N900 does not do this (actually the N900 has the song list on the now playing screen which is nice) so who the f*ck at Nokia decided this was a great "improvement" that they needed to put in and then needed to keep?
So I understand that to some of you guys this is not a big deal. Good on you. It does not mean that it's not a problem so please spare us the give me a breaks and the what's the big deal. Some of the issues you find incredibly important might not resonate with others. It certainly does not mean it's not important to you does it?
i have a small problem with my nokia n96. when i using music player for awhile the refresh library button disappear. but when i reboot my phone its there again. and when im using nokia ovi player on my pc, when i connect my phone it saying your artwork not optimized for your phone. i click optimize and still cant see artwork on my phone. am i doing something wrong?

Does anyone else notice a delay in volume adjustment when you try to raise or lower the volume via the side buttons while playing music? my razr seems to hate doing so, the media volume bar will appear and disappear several times before the volume is raised all the way. my droid 2 took only about a second of holding the up button, holding the up button on my razr doesnt move the volume more than one or two clicks.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI can play the files through the file manager but not the google play or the default music player. I have even downloaded third party music players with no luck. I tried moving the files around to the default music folder, and even the folder with the samsung song that came with the phone. No luck.
My last phone (nexus 4) recognized the files instantly, even found the album art and organized all of them no matter where the files were located. I really don't understand what the problem is, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade.
Would putting the files on a micro SD card work at all?
Anyone know how to rename music files in galaxyss2 music player?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Samsung Galaxy S5, and suddenly nothing shows up on the music player. I don't use an SD card, only internal memory. And I tried bringing up songs individually, but they still don't show up on the music player.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on my music player I get unfortunately music has stop. I hit Ok and the app cuts down...
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnd set it up so that when I plug in my headphones and hit play on the remote, the music starts playing. On my S3, it was really easy. I just installed the app, and when asked if I wanted to set it as my default music player, I just said yes, and presto! Poweramp all day every day. I'd plug in my headphones and it was good to go. But on my S5, there doesn't seem to be any way to set a default music player. If I go into my application manager and go to Poweramp, under "Launch by default", It says "No defaults set", but there is no way to press the "Clear defaults" button because it isn't highlighted. It's just faded.
This is the case for Google Play Music, and the default S5 music player app as well. When I go to "Default applications" in the settings, under "Set Defaults", there are only 2 options: "Home" (TouchWiz Home), and "Messages", but there doesn't appear to be any way from here to set any new default apps such as my music player of choice. The worst part is, maybe 4 out of 10 times, when I plug in my headphones and click the play button on the remote, Poweramp will start and a song will start to play, but the other 6 times, I'll click play and nothing will happen and I have to unlock my phone and manually press play on the Poweramp widget on one of my home screens. I just want to plug in my headphones and have it work consistently every time like it did on my S3.
In the galaxy S4 I had the option to use voice control in Samsung music player, like "next", "stop", "pause" etc. ( it was located in the voice control settings under "Input and Control")In the galaxy S5 I have now I can't find this option for some reason , went through all the settings, it's gone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my music player in my s2 LTE is constantly having problems. At random, it will do any one of the following; pause, mute, go full volume and skip songs. This can happen while in my pocket, it can happen when the phone is stationary and not being touched. Motion controls are off. I've downloaded several other music apps and they all do the same thing. I've tried using other headphones. Sometimes it won't happen for a very long time and its no big deal, but sometimes it just constantly pauses or skips songs and makes it more of a hassle than it is worth to listen to music on my phone. It's been happening pretty much since I got the phone in mid December.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i transferred my whole music library to S6 and happily listened to it via the stock music player. Then much later when I had downloaded some new apps and edited settings, I returned to the music player to see that all my songs had vanished. I still have them on the memory and Poweramp can still find them, but not the stock music player?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been downloading music with uTorrent for a while now with no issues. I download the music and it defaults to my download folder on the device. I then manually move it to the SD card and everything is great. Now suddenly when I move it to the SD card, it won't show up in the music app. If I leave it on the device it is fine but once I move it to my music folder on the SD card, it won't show up.
I am using the stock music app but I checked the Google play music app and it doesn't show up there either. The only way I can get it to show up is to plug into my computer, copy the folder to it and then put it in my iTunes. Then I have to copy it from iTunes folder back to the SD card and it shows up. I've also tried unmounting, removing and remounting the SD card and that worked as well. Both of those solutions are super irritating, especially since it has been working great for ages and now is just not working all of a sudden.
I'm trying to remove the Samsung Music Player app but when I go to Application Manager or App Info, the Disable button is grayed out. How do I kill this app?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI haven't had any issues with my Verizon Galaxy s5 until after updating to Lollipop 5.0. The default/pre-installed music player crashes very often. It won't start playing until pressing play a number of times, once it finally does play it will stop after the song has finished, if I try to skip a song it will usually crash once I hit the skip button but if I get lucky it will let me skip 4 or 5 songs before giving me the "Unfortunately, Music has stopped" error message.
It does crash sometimes mid song. I'm not sure what the issue is, as I said I haven't had a problem like this before updating. I will also randomly get an error message saying that Contacts has stopped working, which I have seen others report happening, but I haven't seen anything about the music player crashing. I have a 128GB sd card but I don't think that's the issue. Everything has worked fine until this update. Attached is a screenshot of the blank music player after I receive the error message ...
Is it possible (and wise) to remove the pre-installed Music Player that came with the Samsung Galaxy S2? I ask because I prefer to use a superior music player and occasionally there are conflicts between the two so i thought it would be better to remove the pre-installed one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a 2014 BMW with Nav/BT,
Every time I select my phone as the Music source in the BMW Nav, the phone chooses the last used music source. So, if I've rebooted the phone and haven't used any media players on phone, it opens the Samsung built in music player and plays the demo song that came with the S6.
If I last opened Spotify, the next time I select my phone Spotify auto plays. Same with Pandora.
Any way to select a default and work around this "last used" setting?
My Galaxy S6 was one of the loudest phones I've owned. Its still loud but only when listening to music or watching YouTube, every other app isn't as loud anymore.
For example, I got a music game, when I listen to the song from the music player its perfectly loud, when I listen to the same exact mp3 in the game its no as loud anymore like it use to be.
Is this a known bug? is there a fix or update coming to address this?
PS: I noticed this RIGHT AFTER the 5.1.1 update (on verizon) before every app in my phone was loud
Since the update my music player randomly stops and says it can't play files that could be previously played? Also every time I press the home screen Google Play store shows up.
