My galaxy s5 went under an automatic update last night to 4.4.4 and now my contacts are stuck. The contacts list won't load and keeps saying "updating contact list." Once in a while a message comes up that says "unfortunately, contacts has stopped." I've tried everything short of a factory restart (which I don't want to have to do) . This update is terrible, I have slow speeds, freezing screen and the contact issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor a while now whenever I open my contacts it loads extremely slowly. This means I can't actually click to make a call for around 30 seconds approaching a minute at times.
Also when people call me because of this the contact name doesn't always appear as it just shows a number as if the phone doesn't recognise it's someone from my contacts list.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 and I am new to android. today I did an update and I am having trouble with my contacts, it is telling me that contacts have stopped working and I'm unable to make calls via my contacts. my messages are no longer showing up with names and just a number. I have cleared the cache and data and I still have no joy
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a popup saying contracts has stopped working. I also have some video's apps from Swagbucks locking up the phone but that could be the apps. When I frist installed lollipop I guess 2-3 weeks ago a lot of stock apps issues a master restore fix all but the popup for contracts. The pop up appears after I close thee phone. contracts or message app. Clear cache. cache partition and did another master restore. I guess until there a update or the s6 comes out I am stuck with it.

For some reason my dialer is very slow, Loading contacts in Dialer taking forever, if it's catced it is fine sometimes and pops up real fast like it should be... but in most cases when I launch it, I have to wait more than 20 seconds for my device to load my "Speed dial" list, and when I switch to "recents" or "contacts" tab, everything is empty, after a few seconds all contacts appear at once...
Very weird, I tried to delete recently added contacts and looking for special characters that maybe affecting or something, but no luck, I also disabled Xposed and its moduls and also unrooted, but didn't worked..
I have an iPhone 4s and for the past few days my Safari will not load pages. I am also having trouble connecting to the app store and using the Maps. I thought it might be a problem with AT&T and my phone being throttled but it is not. Is this an issue with the 5.1.1 update for the iPhone?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI downloaded SwiftKey-X...and every time I reboot the phone..the dock first loads some of my apps..usually the last downloaded apps.Example..i switch the phone on, and where my contact/messaging/phone icons are..are now, FireFox, and 2 or others.This eventually fixes itself after about 15 seconds.If i remove SwiftKey, then this doesn't occur at all.

The problem I have however is not with the game itself but with the images it has put on my phone to run itself, they seem to have 'inbedded'into the system on my phone so when for example I go into my camera I have a Haypi symbol on the bar at the top and then when I close it and its between closing an app and going to the main screen or vice versa the Haypi Kingdom shield and sword and severaL motifs appear briefly.I have tried removing the game to get rid of this but it still happens even when its not installed now, its like as if its installed a Haypi Kingdom theme to my phone! I like the game but not so much that I want to see it all over my phone!

(Firmware: 2.3.6)Not sure which app update caused it...Suddenly "Facebook" , "Twitter" and few other apps stopped and a deluge of pop-ups of Force Close appeared on my Screen. Even though I select "ForceClose"..they reappear repeatedly. I could not open the TASK Manager by pressing the Menu button. I could not even select "Power-Off" option.
Finally I had to shut-down the phone by LongPress of the power button on the right.When restarted....All my contacts are lost. I am not able to import from my SIM card and neither am I able to create new contacts.When try to save a contact..."Unable to Save Contact" is the message I get.All the messages I received and Logs are intact. If I make new calls, its getting logged. Only Contacts has the problem...not able to create/save a contact.I have now:

Two weeks back, I updated the Firmware from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6 using Kies. how to get the contacts working.
Is there anyway of stopping my phone from only displaying web pages in mobile format,With my old HTC there was a setting to switch between mobile and standard page format, I tried putting "about:debug" into the browser which gave me some more advanced options in the settings menu and selected normal rendering bade made no difference, Could it be an APN settings issue ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLove the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
I have a new phone. AT&T couldn't add my Droid Maxx to their service, so now I have a phone, with contacts from google, but the contacts don't have any phone numbers even though on a computer I can clearly see the phone numbers. Need transferring contacts from google to galaxy s6 contacts. With out phone numbers, and phone isn't really a phone.

View 11 Replies View RelatedOk, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

Previously it was synced to another Gmail account. Even though the phone said all has been synced (to the new Gmail), nothing appeared when I login to the new Gmail account contacts.

I have this same problem with both of them.When I go into Email and try to pull up the list of my contacts I can only see about 7 of my 50 contacts. The screen will not scroll to display all the contacts.It first was not working on my wife's phone. I checked it on my phone and it was working when I first tried it but it stopped working as I was testing the scrolling function. Now neither phone will scroll so you can see all your contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I live in Sweden and bough my phone in June. Had KE2 on it and wanted to update to KE7 with Kies but it wasn't available at the time, so I used a guide on this site to update it manually through odin.
Anyway after that I went away to a place with no good internet connection for 2 months and didn't really keep up to date with this site. Now I'm back home and want to root this phone to improve battery life and get the wiimote app to work.
1A. Since I updated to KE7 using Odin, and not Kies, is it dangerous to root the phone?
1B. Do I need to debrand and update through Kies if a new update is available?
2. Will the Wiimote app work if I root the phone?
3. Is there a guide to follow on what to avoid after rooting so I don't brick the phone?
Is there a way or app that can let me update my sim contacts or do i have to use my old non smartphone to do that?
