Got a Verizon Sammy S5, Got a new 64g SD card. Running Kitkat 4.4.4. checked for the latest update all it good. MBP OS X latest updates.
Using the Android transfer app. And it will not allow me to drag & drop all my song. So I give DoubleTwist a try and it fails to sync a few of my 2800 songs.
I read somewhere that you have to root the S5 to allow this. Is that true?
If I drag and drop music files to the Music folder in the phone storage they show up in the music player app fine.
However, files do not show in the app when I add them to the SD Card.
The SD card has been formatted in the phone. I'm adding files to this folder directory - Card/Android/data/com.google.android.music/files. Is this correct?
I bought a 32GB MicroSD card for my N8 so that I had enough capacity to store all of my MP3s. Unfortunately I can't convince Ovi Music Player to sync music to that location. It always tries to sync the music to the N8's 16GB internal storage area despite there not being enough capacity to do so. Is there any way to configure either Ovi Music Player or the N8 to use the MicroSD card exclusively for the music library?

I currently have over 2000 songs favorited on my music player and would like to avoid spending over an hour to favorite each one again. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been downloading music with uTorrent for a while now with no issues. I download the music and it defaults to my download folder on the device. I then manually move it to the SD card and everything is great. Now suddenly when I move it to the SD card, it won't show up in the music app. If I leave it on the device it is fine but once I move it to my music folder on the SD card, it won't show up.
I am using the stock music app but I checked the Google play music app and it doesn't show up there either. The only way I can get it to show up is to plug into my computer, copy the folder to it and then put it in my iTunes. Then I have to copy it from iTunes folder back to the SD card and it shows up. I've also tried unmounting, removing and remounting the SD card and that worked as well. Both of those solutions are super irritating, especially since it has been working great for ages and now is just not working all of a sudden.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, unrooted, and I have been using a Samsung Evo 32 GB MicroSD card since I bought the phone in July. About a week ago I went to check for a photo and found that all of my photo albums that were stored on the MicroSD card were not found, along with all of my music and ringtones. When I looked at the storage, it didn't read my MicroSD card at all.
I turned off the phone, took out the microSD card, and put it into my Samsung Galaxy TabPro tablet, but my tablet read no data at all on the MicroSD card.
I tried to put the MicroSD card into an adapter to look at it on my laptop, but the adapter software said the card had to be formatted before it could be opened in Windows, so I dropped that idea for now.
How to have my card readable again or at least be able to retrieve the photos that were on the card? I had transferred a lot of personal and important photos onto the card (recent weddings of friends and family, pictures of my dog, etc.), and I'll be pretty upset if that's all truly lost forever.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and every time it sync to my 2014 Honda Accord the volume sync and plays music at extremely low volume even on max. Compared to almost any other phone like my iphone 4s that sync the audio for my music no problem. I tried turning the media on and off and deleting the device completely off the bluetooth list and re-adding which still does not work. I am using mobilego and it sucks as it won’t let you sort the order of your music.

The guy at the Sprint store supported me with the contacts, and also put all of my music/video/pics onto the 32G Micro SD that I installed in the phone about 18 months ago.
I have the Micro Card, the Micro SD adapter to regular USB for my PC. I've made separate folders on my PC from the card---Video-Music-Pics, but there's some stuff I'm not familiar with that shows up as well.
My question is, what mode does my new S6 need to be in when I transfer this stuff to the phone?
I will say that some of the music (I have a LOT) wasn't set up very well in my S4 Mini and thats my fault for being in a hurry, but it did what I wanted it to do. I have the S6 plugged into my PC via charging cord/USB, and the Micro SD is in another USB port on the PC---

It should be saved to the e: mass memory, but there is no settings in the application where to change the save location?. The phone automatically makes a folder named "Ovi Music Downloads" in the memory card. It should be created in the mass memory.

I've always stored my music in folders sorted by artist and never bothered with tagging as long as the file names started with numbers. I have over 300 gigs in music so I'm not about to start tagging now. my 32 gig sd card has 4500 music files.The music player doesn't play nice with my sorting - artist view winds up showing the same artists 10 times or sorts out compiltation albums while folder view has every single album (300-400 or so) sorted alphabetically.
I would like to go into the external sd card and play directly from there. I can do that, but only a single track will play and you can't use any other apps or browse when the track plays. Am I stupid or something?This is the main reason why I've always used Cowon music players or my sansa clip, I can simply go into folders and play. I have media monkey and love it but even there I use the folder directory.
I have , once, removed my mobile phone from data cable without safety remove and there it gave me lot of troubles. My facebook was not able to be connected through the provided application and my music player stopped working as and stopped refreshing saying that "File corrupted"
Finally. i removed my memory card, formatted it and made it worked.
Nokia should consider fixing these issues as we respect them a lot and think that they are still the #1 hardware vendor and will keep giving us good options than Samsung - android and will compete with apple phones.
I just bought a Nokia 5530 Xpress Music and tried out syncing my phone's files using Ovi Suite so I can easily retrieve them if ever they get deleted when I update my phone's firmware. When I synced my files, everything else worked fine except for the music files and these are the following problems I encountered: Ovi Suite did not only copy my phone's music files to my pc, it also copied all the music files of my pc to my phone at the same time. This shouldn't happen right? Because I'm only trying to sync my phone's files to my computer, and not transfer files from my computer to my phone so it should only copy all the songs in my 5530 to Ovi Suite.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Kingston 16GB Class 4 microSD (from a reputable source - not ebay - and yes it is a genuine 16GB microSD) for my N8 and want to transfer my music to it, to free up space for photos and video on the phone itself. What I thought should be a simple process, thanks to Nokia, has turned out to be a non-trivial exercise.I naively copied my MUSIC folder to the microSD (F), and then deleted the MUSIC folder on the E drive, and refreshed the library. It went through the process of seemingly refreshing for ages, number of tracks clocking up, but then told me the music library was corrupt and showed nothing.After playing for a while, I decided to reverse the process, put my music back on E and deleted the MUSIC folder from the F drive. Refreshed library and I was back to square one (thankfully), and everything worked as before, but, of course, I still hadn't got my music across to the microSD.
Then I searched these forums and found loads of people had had the same problem.It seems that, (as is often the case) the refresh of the library has bugs, and keeps old files somewhere on the device that should be deleted by the refresh process for it to work properly, but hang around causing problems (thanks Nokia - your software guys strike again)Despite trying to find these 'private' folders, they do not appear to be anywhere on any drive on my N8 (and, yes, I did have show hidden files set)
So, simple question is, how can I successfully transfer my music to the microSD so that it just works? Do i have to delete all 1400 tracks and reload them onto the F drive, and if I do this, will it sort the library problem. Ideally I would appreciate a tried and tested method from someone who has actually DONE it, as I don't want to screw my N8.
I have Google Music downloaded onto SD card but somehow the G3 stock music is unable to find and play it. Is this the security thing of Kitkat or somehow I am not doing the right thing. If it is not having to do with security, then what option to enable.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for help with this for weeks now and i can't find a bit of it anywhere. I wanted to put music on my phone so i went out and bought a micro sd card and tried to load music onto it using a usb to connect to my phone. I've tried literally just about everything. I switched over to USB Mass Storage mode and created a music folder and etc, etc,. But even after i put a couple of songs on the thing my phone still says there's nothing there. I also tried doing the Nokia Ovi Suite thing and apparently my phone model isn't compatible with it. I'm completely surprised by the lack of support from the manufacturing website.

Also, Ovi doen't delete my music on my Nokia N8 phone (I thought maybe that will enable sync option again?) I press delete it opens up the thing where it says it is deleting and then when I refresh all my music just comes back!

I want my device to unsync, which i have tried to do many times via the desktop program and even tried to select "forget this device"
I want my torch to forget my "home" music and not at all have the option to sync music via wifi or anything! I used to be able to easily make playlist from music on my SD media card but now it won't let me...

I can play the files through the file manager but not the google play or the default music player. I have even downloaded third party music players with no luck. I tried moving the files around to the default music folder, and even the folder with the samsung song that came with the phone. No luck.
My last phone (nexus 4) recognized the files instantly, even found the album art and organized all of them no matter where the files were located. I really don't understand what the problem is, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade.
Would putting the files on a micro SD card work at all?
