I just tested my new Samsung S5 and an alarm I set did not work with the phone turned off. This is disappointing as it's a feature mobile phones have had for 30 years. Is there a secret handshake or setting I don't know about?
View 18 RepliesWe have two identical Galaxy S6 Edge and the default icons (i.e. messages, email, gallery etc.) look completely different. Mine is the standard icons and the other has smaller more "bubbly" looking icons. I've tried searching for a fix on the web but nothing has worked so far. I've seen you should be able to edit icons by long holding them down but this doesn't work.

Starting yesterday, my GS6 wont "wake up". This has happened twice now. I have only had the phone a week and haven't done anything to it, root, etc. The only way I can get it back is to press Power, Home Key and Volume Down at the same time to reset the device...not factory reset, but reset as in Power Down and restart.

This is an employer-provided phone, so I cannot root it.
So I have been using stock ROM or very close to for the past 6months or so and constantly have this issue despite clean wiping multiple times while moving from Lolipop to M preview to M. At first I thought it was my specific car but now is happening with the rental I have.i am new to Bluetooth so maybe normal but I don't think so. When I connect to my cars Bluetooth then make a call, after the call I get a constant "bluesleep" wake lock until I turn Bluetooth off. If I make a call during the day while driving then get out of the car when I get home, it keeps my phone awake all night unless I remember to turn blue tooth off.Ive noticed it only happens once I make a call or use the Bluetooth for something. If I just simply connect to my car, I don't get a wake lock.
Is this how Bluetooth is supposed to work? I can't imagine so but the fact I'm basically stock and have wiped many times and different android versions makes me think maybe it's just an android thing.
Whenever I borrow a friend's Android phone, including one of my friend's new Droid X, the homescreen always takes at least half a second before it registers my finger page swipe.
Why are ALL Android phones like this? Why can't they make this right?

Pics from iOS phones are fine, but nothing from other Android phones work at all...is this a bad setting. On my side? Nexus 5 with all apps updated to current.
I factory reseted my phone recently and I cant seem to get my alarms to trigger, i do NOT use the phone default alarm software, (mainly because I do not want the alarm sign icon at the top of the screen reminding me what I already know), so I use another software, I currently have 3 other alarm software's (Tasker, Alarm Clock Plus, Alarm Clock Xtreme) and while they do trigger when I test the alarm just a couple mins from now, the problem is at the morning, I assume its because my phone goes into deep sleep? here is my CPU spy screenshot which confirms my phone going into that mode, are alarms not supposed to trigger there?

All is fine and snappy etc, but I'm not sure if I have turned anything off, because waving my hand over the screen doesn't seem to do anything any more? It was working fine. I have been playing around with the settings to get the phone to my liking - I may of accidentally turned something off, I'm not sure.

Normally when I go to sleep I put my phone in silent mode from the quick toggles in the notification panel. I like silent mode so I don't get vibrate notifications during the night and sounds that would wake me up.
Before the update my alarm which I use in the AM to wake up for work used to work in silent mode and I would hear the alarm. The last 2 nights the alarm goes off but only on the screen and does not make a sound like it used to.
Im on the verge of getting the MOTOACTV but wanted to double check something.Will the device only pair with Motorla phones? I have a blackberry and want to make sure I can send and receive calls using the device paired via bluetooth.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to listen to music as usual using the orginal headphones that came with the M9, however it did not detect it and the sound played through speakers instead. So I tried them in three different phones and they worked just fine, so then I thought it was the jack socket, but I tested two different headphone (Phone and computer) and by some miracle both worked. So now I'm seriously confused whose fault is it? The headphones or the socket?
I managed to get the headphones working on the M9 for about 20 seconds before they stopped working again, I did it by pressing harder and fiddling with the cable, but now it won't work at all, despite the other headphones working just fine.

Whenever I shut down and turn my phone back on, the apps within the applications have all moved around and forgotten their positions? The apps on the home screen are unaffected.
Having chosen the S2 over the iPhone and having used it now for 3 months (learning new things about it almost everyday) I think I can now arrive at a decision whether I made the right choice.Having seen peoples' iPhones and read on certain forums about them I'm glad I went for the S2 however (there always is an however!!!) there are [so far] 3 little gripes I have w.r.t. the S2
1) The OnOff button could be better in terms of positivity and position.
2) The (installed) Music Player unlike the music player on the iPhone doesn't remember the last position played on a certain track if you navigate away from it and listen to something else and then return to it. A real pain when listening to audiobooks unless you split the audiobook into small (~5mins) tracks then you just have to remember which track you last listened to when you turn the phone off or listen to something else on the music player. This is unlike iTunes, which the iPhone uses, which does it automatically when you check the 'Remember Playback Position' box. Naturally the inability to not remember the last position played doesn't really apply if you just listen to 3mins music tracks!
3) Kies for Mac (which is my main computer) is terrible slow almost unresponsive.Kies for the PC is marginally better but nowhere near as user friendly as iTunes.
My S5 used to show info when I waved my hand over the black screen, now nothing. I have tried looking for the air wake button, but it is not where I have read it should be. I do I turn this back on????
View 1 Replies View Related I got my GS5 last week, and I'm loving it, but it have one issue that bugging me. This issue don't happen often (only 3 times since I've got it), when I put my phone to sleep, and wake it back on, the two soft buttons on the bottom of the screen (back and multi-tasking button) lit up, but the screen does not, I have to force to take out the battery and put it back in, turn the phone back on then it would work.
I did called the store i got it from, but they don't have any more s5 in stock , and Samsung won't replace mine (what kind of customer service is this?), the store I got it from said they have to see the issue with their own eyes to be able to exchange me a new one, IF there will be any new S5 coming in for the next week or so.
my screen won't lit up upon waking the phone but the 2 buttons on the bottom of the screen lit up normally.
I will have my S5 freeze up and go black after trying to wake it up. My interface and messaging also feels very laggy at times where I pretty much have to wait for it to respond. I had the S view case on when it was freezing so I've removed that but it didn't work. Do you think i should just return this back to AT&T to try and get this replaced?

During the workout the UI became high latency and almost completely unresponsive. It would take 3 4 presses to the Power Key to get the device to wake up. When device did wake up, the CapTouch UI would not accept any swipe or touch gestures. I finally was able to power the device down hoping for a graceful reset. However I was concerned that I was never going to get to the point of getting to the power down screen. seen this issue on other Android devices and know that there are times when a battery pull is needed due to a deadlock or a process gone haywire.

There is no information about what and why. I disabled all motion features, deleted shealth. Turned off Location services.
The same happened to another S6 from a friend, and a S6 edge. All 3 devices have ssp wake lock problem.
I have a GS6 stock for AT&T. Every time I get a notification, my screen lights up. When I had my HTC m9, the screen never woke up besides for calls. It's really annoying having the screen light up for any and all notifications.
