Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia E6 - Touch Screen Doesn't Work In Certain Areas
Sep 17, 2012A strange thing happened. I had been coping with Nokia somehow without shifting to another phone for 5 years now. Today i updated to belle refersh, now my tocuh screen doesnt register my touch in certain areas, i cant pull down the notification bar, cant scroll vertially (horizontal scroll works with jerks), the icon i click on doesnt get selected, but one above or on the side of it gets selected...pretty strange and annoying...what i did....removed memory card, restarted, checked...same thing...clean formatted the phone (without memory card...still doesnt work).

Apr 29, 2010I have a Nokia E71 which as I write is not responding to any of the keys. When I turn it on it boots up and then gets to the 'Set date' window, which I can't get past because it does not register me pressing 'OK'.
I think reinstalling the firmware will fix this, because before it stopped working it went through a phase of not working, and then working again, and then not.
The problem I have is that I can't select the 'PC Suite' on my phone when I plug it in because it won't let me press any keys. how I can get my computer to recognise that I have the phone connected, without having to select PC Suite on my phone?

May 2, 2011i got my new nokia e5 a couple of days ago, and its been working great, only right now every time i press unlock and then go to use it 5 seconds later it will black out the screen. it doesnt go straight to lockout mode but sometimes it wont let me go back to see mode for 5-8 seconds no matter what button i press.it did it the other night but only for an hour this is persisting.
I now tried to reset to factory defaults but that didnt work either sigh, i geuss its a faulty phone, ill bring it back to the guy, if anyone knows if there is some way to fix it because it is a looong way for me back to the shop

Apr 28, 2012I've had a Nokia E7 for about half a year. it worked pretty well until the screen got cracked. It worked fine for a while, then the touch screen stopped responding. I got it fixed and it was working perfectly fine for about 2 weeks. i was using it one day, and it was eprfectly fine. I set the phone aside for a few minutes, then came back to it. I saw the whole screen was showing static, like when your tv has bad reception. i tried turning it off and on again, but it did not clear it up. I tried calling my number, and the phone rang. After about 10 minutes of curses and profanities, it cleared up again. About half an hour later, it became static again. Once again, after about 10 minutes, it cleared up. That night, i plugged the E7 into the charger, and the next morning, it was displaying static once again. i turned it off, intending to go see the shop. When i went, i turned the phone on, and there was no static. When he was checking it over, it went back to static for about 5 seconds, before returning to normal. When i left, i had walked about 50 metres when i reached to my phone to check the time. it was displaying static yet again. This was was about 5 hours ago and it has been displaying static since.

Nov 5, 2010I`m trying to use bluetooth to connect to my car`s bluetooth system. The car side is ok and has found the E5. However to set up the pairing on the E5 I need to add a pairing code . Added the code to car system but can`t find anywhere on the E5 to add the pairing code. I have tried using the blue tooth help on the phone which tries to explain but when I try the suggestions I can`t get a screen to add code.

Jun 25, 2011Just bought Nokia E5, 3 days ago!...Turned off the phone, put it on charge. A little sound indicated that the phone was fully charge after two hours, the screen was indicating that the battery was fully charged. Removed the plug from the outlet, to my suprise...the screen remained lit up, still indicating that the battery was full. I waited for several minutes, it was still the same. So i turned it on. Then i turned it off again, put it on charge again and the poblem was the same!

Oct 23, 2011When I receive a call my screen automatically locks and darkens. Sliding the key lock switch to unlock the phone doesn't work. Not having access to the screen is a problem for two reasons: 1. I don't know who is calling me (as the screen is dark) 2. I cannot use any of the phones functions (i.e. speaker, conference calls, hold, etc.) This all started when I upgraded to Software Version 022.014 with Software Version Date 2011-07-05. Both points above were working before this update.

Aug 21, 2011Yesterday was my first day trying to use my new E7 as my primary phone. I am having a major problem where the phone is stuck at the white nokia log boot screen and it keeps restarting.
In the days before, I updated from the original 13.x firmware to 14.002 though the ovi suite. After about an hour of usage yesterday, I opened the on phone ovi store application and it said an update was required before I could use it, so I let it update OTA. After the update, I opened the application and tried to get Angry Birds Free. The download started, then I pressed an in app button to do something else in the mean time and the phone froze up during the screen transition. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Back into the ovi store to continue the download, this time the phone restarted on its own halfway through the download. Back into the ovi store a 3rd time to continue the download, phone froze up. Restarted with 8 second power cycle. Wouldn't get past the boot screen.
Yesterday I was able to get the phone to connect to my computer and I attempted to reinstall 14.002 firmware 2x, which seemed to work but I was still stuck. I was able to call Nokia Customer Care and the support person tried some of the same things I did. Then without a sim card in the device we connected to my computer, tried to reinstall firmware, it complained about no sim card. I put an old non-working sim in the device and the home screen came up all of a sudden. So it appeared to be fixed.
I'm back to the same issue today, only now my computer won't connect to the phone. I've tried 10 times. Once it connected but only as a storage drive, not to Ovi Suite.
