Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia 6 'Installation Failed'
Jan 23, 2012
When i try to install 'Nokia Bubbles' after it is done with the first installation, when it is trying to do the second installation (the one that has to connect to internet), it shows 'Installation failed'. This has also happened to two other apps that needed internet connection.
I am not been able to install either skype or nimbuzz for E72. I get the installation failed message but no details. So far only skype and nimbuzz has shown the problem. I already tried hard reset but the problem is the same.
I found some applications, such as foursquare and Dropian, cannot be installed on my E7. Other applications, such as Gravity and Y-Browser, were installed without a problem though. I tried both of Ovi Store on the device itself and Ovi Store on PC, but both failed. I am not sure, but I guess it might be related to a Qt issue because Dropian is a Qt-based application. For your reference, my device firmware is up-to-date.
I am delete Mail for exchange from my Nokia e5-00, but I need it's again where I can download that? I try [URL]but all version give error when install on ovi store write "Sorry, this item is not available for the Nokia E5-00."when I change model to e72, e71, e63 and other I get "not available"
My E7 showed a new update is available when I connected it to my PC via PC Suite. This update was for Nokia Belle I believe. The update started and everything looked normal. I returned a few hours later and found a message on my PC that the istallation failed or was interupted. The phone was "frozen" with a black screen and not responding.
Yesterday i charged my phone using laptop as battery was fully dried out. after that i am getting this error.Phone start-up failed. contact the retailer.I charge my phone fully later on with charger. also tried restarting so many times, tried different sim card, removed sim card, removed memory card...but no luck.
Last day suddenly I saw that my E7 displayed "Critical update failed, removing the software."then it hangs, I had to restart my phone. After restarting I noticed that all my settings are gone. In my home screen by default all the icons, mailing and widgets are default, which was there when I bought the phone more than 6 months back. It is set to the three home screens, as if it is new phone.I cheked the menu and observe that all the apps that I downloaded are there even new Symbian anna is also there, mail settings are as it is.So what the apps/ software it was downloading without intimidating me I don't know, even I don't know till now what exactly happenned. Is it that Nokia was doing something over the Air (OTA), and which failed?
When upgrading my Nokia E7 from symbian anna to symbian belle, the phone switched off and on restarting, it display a text: "phone startup failed, contact retailer."
Yesterday I wanted to update my Nokia E63, I saw there was 2 ways of Updating, 1. Over The Air, but there was no clear definition on how to do that, So I want to the other option, Nokia Ovi PC Suite. The download kept failing but it kept resuming when I tried to download the update again. After the download finished Usually you do not need the internet to install something that you already downloaded (Should Always Be Like That!!) So I thought that and while the update was installing Nokia Ovi PC Suite said something about Cannot Connect To Service, Although My Internet was PERFECT! and I tried to turn on my E63 and it would just vibrate and then turn off. I tried reviving it by leaving the battery out for 5 mins ( I also left it out for 6 hours) And when you turn it on Hold the Green Button Call And the 3 and the *. But none of that works, I wanted to send my phone to Nokia Care through Post But you need the IMEI but How can I do that?
I have an installation of "DataWatch" from the Nokia Store that initially failed when my phone lost service in the middle of installation. Nothing I do seems to stop it from showing installation in progress in the store "says 'Installing.'
I've tried power off/on. I've tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds for the "completely power off" option (E7-00.) Given the amount of time required to put things back, I don't want to do a soft reset or a hard reset.
i have E71x and i am able to download 2go and installation is not a problem, But the major problem is that is not able to connect to network after installation. What can i do ?
I'm using an E71 and I'm having a problem installing apps, every time I try installing apps is says "file corrupt" but I know that the file is not corrupt. It does this for 'sis' apps only.
My E72 has Ovi Maps 3.03 (246) installed (I think this was the release last January).A few days ago, while checking the SW Update on my E72, it notified me of a new Important update - Ovi Maps 3.3. I looked at the "View Details" and notice that this is 3.03 (316), so the version number appears to be an update over the previous 3.03 (246) version.I tried installing it (several times) from the cellphone but it always ends up with "Update failed".Searching around the Internet, I notice that 3.03 (316) seems to be an updated version for the Nokia N86 (previously, this cellphone wasn't officially supported by 3.03 (246)).
Whenever I restart my phone, it waits for a little jiffy, and then a message appears, "Unable to complete installation from memory card. To install remaining applications go to Application manager". How do we get rid of this? Well, how do we recognize the App that's causing this?
Got the Anna update via my phone Update, and after installation, I got the two important updates 1/2 and 2/2. I am not able to install 2/2, but the rest went fine. I have tried a Factory reset
Just when I think the E75 cannot get any worse (it has slightly worse reception than 2 tin cans and a bit of wet string!!), Nokia send me a OS upgrade that will "result in improved performance"! Tragically, it continuously comes up with the great message "Installation failed due to lost connectivity; do not disconnect USB connection during installation"! Now, whilst I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, even I can see that disconnecting the cable would not be condusive to a successful software upgrade, so of course I am not doing that! I am about to wind the clock back over 10 years and resort to my trusty 6150.
I got the Nokia e63 in April 2010. One of the things I did first was: 1. Update Ovi Store app on the phone 2. Ran Nokia Maps on the phone (applicaiton already on the phone) or downloaded Ovi Maps from the Ovi Store - cant remember. 3. Regardless of how I did (2) I managed to install country maps for specific areas (US New York, UK etc) by using Ovi PC Suite
So all ok so far. Now I started putting more applications and games on the phone but it kept getting slower and slower - to a point it would not render the screen properly or mix two screens into one. I have a 2 gig memory card in it with only less than 20% in use - the phone memory had over 80Meg free. So really could not understand why it performed so badly. Anyway I spent several hours resetting the phoning and doing all the above again - but OVi Maps does not install any more (I get Installation Failed message).
To add more headache - the internet was very slow and I had to attempt several times to update Ovi Store after each reset - finally gave up and had to use a WLAN connection. When I go to the Ovi Store web site on my pc and find Ovi Maps - there is now a message saying its not available for e63. Yet that was not what I recall because I have installed Ovi Maps on the phone before and installed the additional country maps on several occassions (the last one being as recent as May 2010 - last month) All of a sudden Ovi Maps is not compatible with the Nokia E63? The Ovi Store app on the phone gives no indication of compatibilty issue with the phone - so you can keep downloading it and using up your internet allowance and it keeps failing to install without giving any useful message.
For some weeks now im getting "installation fails" message when trying to install some of the software from OVI or from downloaded files. For example, Nokia Sleeping Screen. It downloads and the Ovi bar says "installing" then a smaller window appear in the lower section of the screen saying "preparing installation" then "Installing" then after a few seconds "installation Failed. Some apps for example Spotify installs perfectly, but here the bottom window don't appear at all. I have made a full reset, problem remains. I did a 3 finger reset, problem remains.
im facing a problem with installin the ovi maps.. yesterday i deleted the nokia maps from the application manager tab in the settings as an error kept coming asking to move or delete items from C: as memory was full.. i deleted the nokia maps alone cos of which 15 mb of free space was there in C:.. so i decided to update the ovi maps again but it kept on getting failed... i tried in the nokia ovi suite n the software updater as well by connecting the phone to my pc.. it says maps couldnt be installed as there is a missing dependency..
I installed some apps in a 5800xm, but since yesterday i cant install any app: i got this URL...it say Installation failed, unknown error: 2148532241.I tried to reinstall ovi suite beta, and I restored the default settings in the phone but still got that error, I can not install anything even if I install through Pc Suite.what can i do before i try to hard reset?
I tried to connect my Nokia 5230 to Ovi Suite for the first time. (In clear hope that I will be able to add the Philippine Map to Ovi Maps.) But the Supprt Software wont install and the suite can't detect my device. What will I do?
ever since this app was available i have never tried using it. always getting installation failed error. all versions dont work and even installing it by not using ovi store will still fail. im using n8 pr1.1
I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
