need some help with my Curve 8520. It was knocked off the sofa and a white screen appeared which won't go. Doesn't matter if I take battery out, as soon as put it back in the screen re-appears. Power switch won't work. Red light which ususally indicates message/email is flashing but I can't get into the phone to see what it is.

I always press it by accident, I'd love to pop a the power menu (long press) instead of turning off the screen on a "standard" press.my Nexus 5 is right now unrooted, so I rather have a solution that doesn't depend on that, but if there is no other way, I'll do that..

I was talked into by a sales rep into buying another Xperia after experiencing the exact same problem with the older version as im now experiencing with my current model. I rely heavily on my phone and this is a massive inconvenience to me. The problem running out of power/charger not charging/ not being able to switch back on. Then the problem resolves itself only to happen again... And again... And again. This is not good enough. Funnily enough both models ive had problems with just after the warranty runs out. Leaving me with using my phone insurance not only making my phone insurance more expensive the following year but having to pay an excess charge.

When i put it in my pocket, and after a while i take it out and i found that my phone is switched off. When i tried to switch it on again, it didn't work. That doesn't really seem like any kind of power saving to me. I burned up 7 percent in 2 hours, and I wasnt using the phone. I think I might've used less power had I not done anything!!

All automatic downloads are also turned off. On a recent holiday to France the phone the phone decided randomly to download my emails at 3pm one Friday afternoon (after we'd been there for almost a week) - this totalled around 3MB and cost me around £10.00 This was the only time the phone did any downloads (it was in my pocket not being used at the time) - so it appears as if randomly for around 10 minutes one wet Friday afternoon the phone decided to ignore the data roaming switch and download my emails (and apparently nothing else). I have read some real horror stories online about this kind of thing but nothing where it just pops on and off.As I travel a reasonable amount I can't afford for this to keep happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday the volume down button and power button started not working. This has happened before and usually if I turn it off and on again the problem is fixed. That's not working this time. The power button works about 2/3rds of the time and the down volume button won't work at all, it sometimes even lowers the volume by itself. Because of this problem, whenever I turn the phone off and on again it brings me to the fastboot page and puts my phone on safemode, which I can't get out of. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, doing a factory data reset, and using recovery mode.

This afternoon my Iphone 3gs started to vibrate continously for about 2/3 minsutes whilst having a black screen. I then tried to bring the home screen up and none of the buttons would work. The power button hasn't worked for sometime so the remedy of holding the power and home button together won't work.
Is there anything I can do or is it completely dead with no chance of survival?
