BlackBerry :: 9810 Need Basics About Wifi Auto-switching?
Dec 9, 2011
1- when i'm using the device by itself, all indicators show that auto-switching is working when wifi is available. ok, bb gurus, i can't afford any surprises on my bill, so...is it really working all by itself, or am i gonna have to play the "disable this, enable that" game to make sure?
2- when i'm tethered, i see my device is being used as a standard dial-up modem, so clearly there's no wifi to be had. but...during tethering, is there any hardware config that allows my device to become a wifi adapter instead of a modem?
3- i think i don't have hotspot capabilities, is that correct?
btw-i absolutely love how easy it is to check service/connection status.EDIT: i just noticed that when i have wifi, the ssid shows up next to the "AT&T" on the main screen, i walked back & forth across the street and watched it change...holy-moly i'm digging this phone!
I just bought a torch 9810 today. The wi-fi doesn't seem to switch off even after un-checking the box. it automatically switches on even after i've unchecked the box. HELP?
I have started getting a problem with the auto brightness switching itself off.
I keep switching it back on and then after a periods of time... Can't be specific but when I come out of an app or having been watching a video and go back to the homescreen it's really bright and the auto setting is off again.
I have a problem after updating to v. 7.1.0.342.After the update everything was fine. Now about a week later the auto rotate does not work any longer.I have removed the battery for a restart but i am still having the same problem .When i pay a game like Angry Pigs (That rotate the screen) it stays that way untill I slide open the phone.
I have a SA for when I'm in the house. Trigger: Detect my wifi, then: Disable Cellular Data, Turn on blue-tooth, dim brightness to 45%, lower ringer volume, But when I leave the house, I want it to Turn Off Wifi and enable Cellular Data. Is there a way the SA can detect that I am not connected to my home wifi and disable wifi and enable Cellular Data, or just enable one SA and disable the active one?
My Torch was in the process of rebooting to save a deleted program. I had it hooked up to a charger (on the wall, not USB). It crashed twice while booting up, and on the third try the boot-up progress bar stopped 2/3 of the way across the screen and never moved. Then I got a message saying "Error 102, Reload Software." I downloaded Desktop Manager (version 2.3) for my Macbook, but the program wouldn't recognize my BB when it was hooked up with the USB. I tried pulling out the battery, changing USB ports, reinstalling Desktop Manager.
I am trying to access the internet using the Mobile Network? When I go to Manage Connections, I enable Mobile Network. On the top right it shows the internet signal, with 3-4 bars (it varies) with and H+ to the left of it. Doesn't this mean that the internet should work? So I try using the Browser, just typing in something like [URL] and I get the following message, "There is insufficient network coverage to process your request. Please try again later."I've tried it a few times and it still gives me the same message. I've made sure that Data Services is "On", and below where it says Mobile Network and Network Mode it shows: AT&T and 3G/H+ & 2G, respectively.
In the Service Status tab, it shows:
Mobile Voice Status: Available Connection: Mobile Nework
[code]....
When I bought the phone, the salespeople had told me the internet should be activated. I called them a few mins ago and they said the same thing. Also, just an FYI, when I connect to my WiFi network at home the internet works just fine. It's when I turn WiFi networks off, and leave Mobile Network "On" that the internet stops working.
I suffer from the problem in two sometimes, if he came to my contact does not issue any ringing, and if you answer the call does not hear the caller's voiceThe duration of this problem that removed the battery and then do I bring it backProblem and return again in two daysI update my package to version 7.0.0.540 2290 and I'm having the same problem? This is the fault of the manufacturers of this giant company??Unfortunately, I was shocked in the device
My sounds are gone on my phone i cannot here when it rings or when i recieve an sms my sounds are enable and my software is up to date its really frustrating yesterday everything worked and today it does not work
My blackberry 9810 is dead and no red light shown while charging. I have removed the battery and re inserted it severally but still not coming up. Though, the phone is about 6month old.
I'm building my own website / business and I have an email set up with Windows Live Mail. I can send & receive with no problems from my desktop.I'm trying to enter the same entries from my email accnt into my BB so I can receive emails.
i recently got a torch 9810 used to use bold...the problem i'm having that i didnt have with the bold is i cannot connect through the wifi at home...it tells me i'm connected but under 'service status' blackberry internet service is still using mobile network (carrier)...why its not changing that status where in the bold i could clearly tell that when i turn wifi on it shows under internet service WIFI.I've contacted my carrier (rogers) and they said its blackberry issue If i dont find a solution for this i may have to say good buy to my brand new torch (i just got it litteraly 2days ago )
I have and LG V10 (just got it a week ago). My WiFi does not automatically connect to my saved connections (mainly home/work). When I open WiFi, the connection I am attempting to connect to shows Disabled. It connects right away when I hit connect. I have tried multiple times to forget/reconnect and nothing is working. I have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. I have been reading forums and so for nothing is working.
Connected to WIFI at home, disconnect from WIFI to go to work and Xoom never get connected to 4G/3G/1X. I power off and power back on then it connects to 4G/LTE.
This happening consistently now.
It looks like LTE maybe weak in my area as I see one or two bars but it should have switch to 3G.
Is there an App that would allow Torch 9810 to function like an ordinary FM tuner? i.e. Tuning to radio stations without having to use WiFi, EDGE, 3G, etc! I would like to install one in my phone but haven't had any luck so far!
My iPhone 4s keeps switching between wifi and 3G while I'm on my home network. Also I am not out of range, I'm within 15 feet of the router. Any suggestions would be great. I've done resets on both my device and router, still doing the same thing. I'm curious to know if any else is experiencing the same problem on there 4s's.
I'm facing problems like NOSERVICE(network) displaying, Iphone switching off automatically, not getting connected to ANY WIFI in my IPHONE 5S . My device is 2 months 25 days old , i had already contacted apple service center they are saying that Internal circuit has been damaged due to Short Circuit and warranty doesn't apply for it.
I've got a new Torch 9810 on AT&T. AppWorld and other programs on the phone ask for Blackberry ID Username and Password. I've entered the requested information several times but I keep getting the response "Unable to login to your Blackberry ID account" I'm at a loss as to how to remedy this. I'm on attempt 6 of 10.
I would like to know if it's possible to turn my Torch 9810 into a personal wifi hotspot. I'd like to connect my iPad to the internet using my BB provider (as a "router").
I've experienced some slow switching between wifi on and wifi off.. Especially when I switch wifi to 'OFF' it would take several seconds up to half a minute if not more....
I have just bought a 9810 and updated to the latest official OS from Telecom Serbia BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.1.0.2061. I am experiencing very weak wifi signals. My Bold 9000, iPhone and laptop can recognise over 10 wifi networks around my house. But the Torch 9810 cannot even recognise the one in my room, 10 ft away. However when I sit next to the Router it does recognise?
I am trying to get my torch 9810 to connect to my home wi-fi network and get the error "Failed to associate with the network". My wifes curve connects fine, and my old curve connected fine too. i upgraded and restored my data setups etc from a backup, but it hasnt worked since.
opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).
