I just bought my bb and was connected recently. I upgraded the bb messenger 2days ago and yesterday I lost the bb icon. So now I can't view my contacts, nor receive chat messages. Since the icon disappeared I can't do anyhting on the bb messenger. I tried to uninstall but could not find a way to do it.
I recently upgraded my BB Desktop Manager to the latest version and now have lost the icon on the phone for BB Maps.Desktop Manager shows it as installed, as does the phone. But the icon is not available.I have tried to remove and re-add using Desktop Manager with no success. This appears to be a known issue: the problem is you are missing one module. If you look in Options / Advanced Options / Applications / BlackBerry Maps, you should see four:net_rim_bb_lbsnet_rim_bb_lbs_apinet_rim_bb_lbs_ribbonnet_rim_bb_lbs_resource_en I am missing the ribbon module. Been unable to download from the BB Website I cannot do a show all on the home screen as that option does not exist.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310.I tried to follow the instructions on a similar post and go to my address book to change the contact directions, However I lost my icon for the Address Book for some reason.how to make everything operable again?
I have somehow lost the icon for "contacts". My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!
My iPhone syncs with my gmail contacts, but they were all lost during upgrade. In the gmail account settings, it no longer allows me to select contacts for syncing. Has anyone else experienced this?
i have blackberry curve 8900. i upgraded the OS from 4.6 to version 5.0. it was successful. i did a back up files before i upgrade and restore it after i upgrade. however when i browse my phone, most of the pre-installed application was lost? no games inside the folder, some program in the applications folder was lost and many more even the third party application. but what i don't understand is why the pre-installed applications are gone? do i need to re-install again these applications?
I have lost several applications including BBM applications after upgrade when I download it the system will say it is installed already but you can not see the icon.
I did an upgrade today, followed instructions, did backup with all boxs ticked, after upgrade completed I did the retore action etc. But I have not got all contacts saved and do not have any of the previously uploaded applications. I need them urgently, but no one available at erickson help line. Also vodaphone phone line and service office are not able to help me my service is with them. How do I get this critical info back, as I urgently need to contact several people in my contact list, but can't without their numbers that are saved into my phone or wherever they get saved when entered.Have also done previous backups, but none seem to restore this info.
I upgraded my iphone 4 to the 5.1 software yesterday evening. Following upgrade my calendar, notes and bookmarks were still there but many apps missing, all music gone and most crucially most of my contacts have disappeared although I still have lots of text messages (numbers appearing rather than name) and emails. I have contacts only where their name begins with an A !All backups have disappeared too. I connected to an old laptop and managed to retrieve apps and the music which I had syned from that laptop previously but still no sign of the contacts.

Just upgraded wife's iPhone 3gs to latest IOS(5.1). After completion everything was good except all of her contacts were gone. I tried re-synching and nothing. I tried restoring and, I thought it had made a backup before the upgrade, but all backup copies were after the upgrade.
My iPhone 4s lost its bluetooth after upgrade, genius bar can't help?
Went into store and saw "genius" who spent an hour unable to fix problem. Changed phone (battery was getting hot) but no help.
looked at his Iphone 4s to sync it with mine but he could not tether his either. The upgrade has fixed some problem but knocked out bluetooth which can not connect to any of my equipment. Ipad, Iphone or coil for hearing aids.
I did an upgrade on my OS for blackberry bold 9900 and after the upgrade was done everything was gone from my phone. I managed to get all contacts, messages, e-mails back but all apps that I downloaded and paid for via app world is missing. How do I get this back?
Before upgrade to Belle, I have some 30+ appllication installed in my C7 Anna. Surprisingly, After upgrade to Belle, many of applications were missed. I have to reinstall all those applicaitons again.
Is this due to some problem during Belle upgrade or is it expected that all existing applications will be erased after upgrade?
I received an email message from Blackberry inviting me to upgrade my OS to 5.0.0.1, which I did wirelessly. At the end of the process, after the restart, I got a message that said "uncaught exception ....I pulled the battery and tried again a few times, but I kept getting the same message.I Goggled the error message and to my horror found hundreds of listing - most related to corruption errors! However, since my blackberry home screen appeared under the message warning, and it is supposedly a mission critical device and I need to work, I clicked ok and started to use my device again.
All seemed find until I noticed that some of my contacts were missing.Maybe about 10%. I determined that some of these missing contacts had been updated since my last back-up. Others had been on my BB for years.I decided to try and restore the address book from my last back-up.I launched my Desktop Manager 6.0.2 and tethered my Curve.First I backed up the "damaged contact list" as part of a full back up.All went well. Then I went to use a 2 week only back up file, that I made before the OS upgrade. But the address book field was dimmed. There were 4036 entries on the dimmed back up file. I had 4021 on my Curve, but many more than 15 were missing. Regardless, I couldn't restore because:
(Dimmed entries are data types that are read only . . . . )The only solutions to this problem I found via Google related to older OSes and devices and involved deleting service book entries which look nothing like the service book entries I found. Or, is simply a problem related to running a RIM application on a RIM device after an upgrade to one more "advanced" RIM OS from another RIM OS, at RIM's recommendation?
I upgraded my OS this weekend to 6.0. I cannot send or receive emails on my device now, nor do I even have the icon for my email accounts anymore. I tried to go through setup to verify them, but I keep getting a messag that says, "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again."
I used to be on an enterprise server, but no longer use that email, but I have always been able to continue using my other accounts. I don't know if that makes a difference at all, but I mention it so the response I get doesn't include activating my enterprise server.
I am so so dissapointed with Sony. At no point was I warned that all my Apps would be lost in the upgrade! I had calander apps with important dates in, and a notes facility which contained all sorts of vital information including passwords I don't have recorded else where (stupid I know). Now all of those apps are gone. I'm struggling to recover my contacts at the moment as well, but am following the advice in the discussions to try to recover those!
I did Gingerbread update this morning, Now my phone doesnt pick up my memory card, and I also cant mount my phone to the computer, I insert the cable and then get the option to connect the phone, but nothing happeneds . The worst is that my memory card is not picked up.
I am new to iPhone but gather others have had issues in the past? Some of my notes got deleted - can I get them back and more importantly, how do I avoid this happening again?
I just upgraded my IPhone to OS5. I cannot find IPOD app to download. Also, I have a new "Nike + IPOD" app that I cannot delete. (I can't hold it down until x appears."
Lost wifi connectivity on 3GS after 5.1.1 OS upgrade. Have tried every remedy, short of wiping my whole phone (have done reboot, backup and restore, reset network settings, reset all settings, etc.). Apple says my "hardware must be broken." Hard to believe, with 350,000 hits with same problem on Google search, just in these few days since upgrade was released. I do not want to wipe my phone and start over (for obvious reasons), nor do I unnecessarily want to purchase a new phone (for even more obvious reasons).

I just upgraded an iphone 3gs from 3.1.2 to 5.1.1 and it properly updated the firmware then at the end tried to restore the data. While restoring it kept prompting me for a password which I don't have any setup so I pressed cancel and it started synchronizing but my messages and notes are not showing up! I'm particularly concerned because I checked the size of the backup and it's like 200 mb! that seems very small. Is there a way I can fix this so it sync back everything properly and otherwise how can I restore to my previous backup with the previous firmware?
