Oct 23, 2011My phone will only connet to the internet when the wi-fi connection is working. I can have a full signal for text messages and calls but when i turn the wifi off, i cannot connect to the internet or use the app world.
does anyone now how to fix this or know how i need to direct the settings or to see if the settings have been reset or something?

Jul 6, 2011I bought my blackberry 8530 yesterday. I used the internet in a pub on WI-FI, but when I left the pub and tried to access the internet I can't. When I open the browser and type an address, it just says that I should be in a WI-FI zone and to check this, or something along those lines. How do I get onto the Internet without using WI-FI??? I am on a 30 day rolling contract with Orange who give me 500MB of internet as part of my bundle.

Jun 30, 2011I have had my bb curve for a few months now, no real problems. suddenly it refuses to grab net, any other servers, or send/receive any mms. tried the battery pull reboot several times, no change. signal showes 1xev. signal strength is fine. followed several other forms of advice given on other similar problems, they either dont apply or dont fix the problem. problem started two days ago.

Jun 25, 2010This may be a stupid question, but I'm lost, I am trying to sign in to a website: URL... and while the arrow clearly knows that it's a link, when I click on the link nothing happens.
Also, I tried to complete a job search on monster.com. I could complete all of the fields, but when I clicked on the "search" button, nothing happens.
This is a personal blackberry with no security restrictions, so I'm not sure what I have to turn on that's not turned on.

Jun 1, 2010Well here is the scoop I switched from my curve to a samsung instinct for a couple of days to try out the touch screen.It was a friends phone.I didn't like it, it was way to simple I like my apps and stuff on my blackberry.So I called sprint today to switch my phone back to my blackberry.I can get calls make calls, however I cannot access the internet or set up my e mail.I have resent my service books and received nothing.When I go back into my setup wizard and say setup e mail it says your device had a problem connecting to the server.When I got to like facebook it says no connection.I just want to get back on my interenet and e mail.

Aug 31, 2010my BB used to connect to my wireless network but for some odd reason it doesnt anymore: it recognizes the network but cannot connect to the internet. On the other hand, it connects to any other network: ive successfully connected to many friends wireless and many restaurants' wireless without any problem. Its worth mentioning that my BB used to connect fine with my homes wireless and i just woke up one day to find that it isnt working anymore (the wifi sign remains gray, in the "wifi connections" there is a connection and theres a white line in the black box instead of a tick.Is there any way to fix this?

Aug 14, 2010With no internet or app usage my phone was to 30 percent after only a hour maybe a hour and half of usage. Not even close to the 4.5 hours of usage said. Complained to Verizon and getting the Tour 9630. Not too happy because i will be leaving the trackpad and i hear battery life on the tour is so so. I wanted the new bold but they wouldnt let me. But they said if my new phone gives me problems, then might get the bold. Either way i want a good phone with decent battery.

Jul 5, 2010I am with orange and I have 500MB data per month. When I try and use the mobile network internet it says 'This is a WiFi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

Upon reinstalling the battery and resetting the device, my keyboard started acting strangely, numbers letters i didn't press would appear on the screen. Jul 4, 2011So I got my new Blackberry Curve 8530 two days ago with Virgin Mobile.I have the $35/month plan with UNLIMITED data, web, & text and 300 calling minutes.I love the phone but I've had a lot of issues with it:- When I download the Facebook app it says I don't have the data/service plan for it and I've even tried downloading the v1.6 via web instead of app world.- I tried to make a BIS account and it said it wasn't registered with the service and told me to do the whole host routing table thing and I did, I DID get the registration message and I tried to make a BIS again and it still doesn't work!- When I go to the Email Setup it only has the option for an enterprise account, and I want to use a personal account.- The blackberry maps isn't in any folders or on the homescreen but it is in the options>applications folder.* Also, the twitter app, Internet, and everything else work fine!I think that's all and I really want to know if you guys have any solutions and I really love this phone! I really want to know if it's a Virgin Mobile or Blackberry issue!

Mar 4, 2012The letter key "L" will not work when pressed, and seems like there is some sort of delay with that letter. Sometimes when it is pressed, it does compute the letter but multiple time and with about a 5 second delay. Most of the time it won't work at all.Now, the trackpad also does not work right. It will scroll up ,down,left, and right at home screen, but will not do any of that in the BB menu or apps like Facebook. I can use it properly in the viewing of scent calls and viewing of recent texts. But once I open a text I cannot scroll again.There is a way around all that, if I hold down the alt key I can scroll again, but of course my letter al is not working.

Did a battery pull fix your issue?: No Apps installed and their version if possible. (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications): None BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device): None Scroll pad works on and off, will not work on some menus. E key will work sometimes, usualt types an upper case E and not a lower case, will not type 2 E's in a row. Works ok when typing a 2. There were some other buttons giving issues a while ago and then it all went away and now this just started again out of nowhere. I tried backing up / wiping the phone, upgraded to the latest software and it is still giving me issues. The phone has never been exposed to any sort of moisture, I don't even use it in the rain.Another issue, possibly related, possibly not is that I get 1 vertical line and 1 horizontal line in my photos I take. This started out happening sometimes and not other times but now it is constant.
BB Curve :: 8530 With Verizon Stopped Working?
Oct 19, 2010For some reason the track pad on my Curve 8530 with verizon stopped working yesterday. I can move it up and down and side to side on the home screen, but if I try to open an application like facebook, bbm or even sound profiles, it will not move up and down. When I try to get to the main menu to do a hard reset of the phone, the trackpad will not move at all. I can go up & down, left and right in messages and e-mail applications that is on my home screen, but when I try to access those applications in the main menu it won't respond. I've tried battery pulls and entering safe mode with no results. I tried cleaning it with a business card. I took it to verizon who said they didn't know what to do. PLEASE HELP! I got this phone a month ago from a friend in perfect condition as a replacement and can't afford to get another one!

The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. Jun 25, 2010I have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
