I'm trying to get whatsapp on my blackberry curve 8530 but it's not working.I've installed the blackberry app world browser but then when I try to connect my phone it says 'An error has occurred communicating with the BlackBerry App World Web plugin. Please restart your device and try again.
View 1 RepliesI topped up my 6 month bb memerbship on Saturday morning and got a verification email later that evening.
My BBM, Twitter and Facebook are working fine however, my internet and WhatsApp isn't. When I click on WhatsApp, it just says "Initialization can take up to 5 minutes" and when I click to use the internet, it just says "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later".
I've had the phone for 2 years and have never had this problem before. I currently have the WhatsApp free trial which expires in August so I don't want to delete and re-install incase it charges me?
I have a blackberry tour as well as a curve 8530/20 for verizon. I have trapster downloaded on both my tour and my curve from blackberry app world. On my tour it connects and everything works fine. On my curve it constantly is looking for a connection and it wont follow me. I have gps set location on under options and did everything I think i need to get it to work.

Upon reinstalling the battery and resetting the device, my keyboard started acting strangely, numbers letters i didn't press would appear on the screen. I went on to reset the device again by pulling out the battery. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I got my new Blackberry Curve 8530 two days ago with Virgin Mobile.I have the $35/month plan with UNLIMITED data, web, & text and 300 calling minutes.I love the phone but I've had a lot of issues with it:- When I download the Facebook app it says I don't have the data/service plan for it and I've even tried downloading the v1.6 via web instead of app world.- I tried to make a BIS account and it said it wasn't registered with the service and told me to do the whole host routing table thing and I did, I DID get the registration message and I tried to make a BIS again and it still doesn't work!- When I go to the Email Setup it only has the option for an enterprise account, and I want to use a personal account.- The blackberry maps isn't in any folders or on the homescreen but it is in the options>applications folder.* Also, the twitter app, Internet, and everything else work fine!I think that's all and I really want to know if you guys have any solutions and I really love this phone! I really want to know if it's a Virgin Mobile or Blackberry issue!
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe letter key "L" will not work when pressed, and seems like there is some sort of delay with that letter. Sometimes when it is pressed, it does compute the letter but multiple time and with about a 5 second delay. Most of the time it won't work at all.Now, the trackpad also does not work right. It will scroll up ,down,left, and right at home screen, but will not do any of that in the BB menu or apps like Facebook. I can use it properly in the viewing of scent calls and viewing of recent texts. But once I open a text I cannot scroll again.There is a way around all that, if I hold down the alt key I can scroll again, but of course my letter al is not working.

Did a battery pull fix your issue?: No Apps installed and their version if possible. (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications): None BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device): None Scroll pad works on and off, will not work on some menus. E key will work sometimes, usualt types an upper case E and not a lower case, will not type 2 E's in a row. Works ok when typing a 2. There were some other buttons giving issues a while ago and then it all went away and now this just started again out of nowhere. I tried backing up / wiping the phone, upgraded to the latest software and it is still giving me issues. The phone has never been exposed to any sort of moisture, I don't even use it in the rain.Another issue, possibly related, possibly not is that I get 1 vertical line and 1 horizontal line in my photos I take. This started out happening sometimes and not other times but now it is constant.
For some reason the track pad on my Curve 8530 with verizon stopped working yesterday. I can move it up and down and side to side on the home screen, but if I try to open an application like facebook, bbm or even sound profiles, it will not move up and down. When I try to get to the main menu to do a hard reset of the phone, the trackpad will not move at all. I can go up & down, left and right in messages and e-mail applications that is on my home screen, but when I try to access those applications in the main menu it won't respond. I've tried battery pulls and entering safe mode with no results. I tried cleaning it with a business card. I took it to verizon who said they didn't know what to do. PLEASE HELP! I got this phone a month ago from a friend in perfect condition as a replacement and can't afford to get another one!

I had my phone in my pocket today for about 30 minutes and when I went to take it out none of the buttons were responsive the only thing that worked was the track pad. The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. The trackpad works correctly in all other places except opening a link online. Is there a trackpad setting that I may have turned off by mistake?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
After doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

Then I downloaded a game and a theme.. about 30 mins after the theme it started not to work.The only thing I can do is take a picture.The track ball wont move at all. Left or right. It will take a picture.Is there anything I can do? Please help me if you can.I cant even dial my phone. when i type a name in it wont let me scrool down to the number I need.is there a way to dete the stuff? Or fix the trackball?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOkay, I recently got a replacement blackberry and used the device switch wizard to switch from my old Blackberry 8520 to my new Blackberry 8520. At first, I had a few problems with the Twitter and Facebook apps, but thanks to rcnathan, that's under control.
But now there's a new problem: email. Neither of my email addresses work (@*.blackberry.net or my personal email) and anytime I try to send something, a red X immediately appears next to it.
I use Nokia X2-00 on Vodafone , India. I have a Vodafone Mobile Connect Plan. I had been using Whatsapp without any problem for the past 6 months or so. 2 weeks back, i accidentally deleted the VMC access point.
Since then, i've been facing problems. I have asked the people at Vodafone Customer Care to provide me Settings for VMC. But whatever i do, my Preferred Access Point does not change from Vodafone Live! to Vodafone Mobile Connect. I have even tried creating a Personal Setting with the Account Name as 'www'. But it doesn't help. I am able to set the Default Config Sett. as 'Vodafone Connect' , but the Preferred Access Pt. is always Vodafone Live! I know Whatsapp requires VMC to run, so what can i do to get it back?
I just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?
