My phone will only connet to the internet when the wi-fi connection is working. I can have a full signal for text messages and calls but when i turn the wifi off, i cannot connect to the internet or use the app world.
does anyone now how to fix this or know how i need to direct the settings or to see if the settings have been reset or something?
I just bought Neo V 3 days ago. First day I connected it to internet which I use at home via Wifi. There was no any problem, there was internet connection. But 1 day after it's gone. I'm connecting wifi (sees it, enters password and connects) but there is no internet connection. I surfed on internet to detect problem and all i found was 'changing wep to wpa' . (I'm using u.s. robotics 9106 as modem) But it didn't work out too.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am able to connect to my wifi and it shows with both a check mark and the wireless bars in the top right of my phone that I am connected to wifi but when I try to refresh apps using the internet or pull up the internet browser it says I have no internet connection. I have a tablet the connects to the same network with out any problems and has full internet access so it's something with my phone. I have tried forgetting the network and reconnecting along with resetting my network settings. nothing seems to be working.

I am with orange and I have 500MB data per month. When I try and use the mobile network internet it says 'This is a WiFi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've read around the forums and elsewhere but haven't found a solution yet Have an 8350i and with the Mobile network off (Nextel) I turn on wifi (both at home and at work) and it connects to the network, icon is white not gray Data service is on and was working before (had the phone for 9 months). I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs,firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? A weird thing has started happening on my 5800 in that certain apps seem to have started failing to connect to the internet. If I use the browser then I get the connection choice menu i.e. WAP or WiFi, but certain applications have stopped giving this choice and therefore just sit there doing nothing. The only way I can get them to do anything is by connecting to a WiFi point first via settings then starting the application. This is okay when I'm near a WiFi point but it means cannot use these application properly on the move. The apps that are affected are Gmail, Googlemaps and Forcea Weather.
If anyone has any idea on how to fix this then I would be grateful for your help.
Newly changed my subscription. I get these messages trying to use ovimaps on my cell:First I get this message: "Connection failed?" and the it goes in a mode "Waiting for GPS?" but after 15 minutes it has still not found GPS signal.In addition I can tell that internet now works 100% perfect but my yahoomail only reach connection 8 out of 10 attempt to get connection. Using mu yahoo email account on the phone I get the message. "Shot down one of the connection".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a new Curve 8520 just resently and have a problem with my internet connection. I use my Curve without data plan/bis. To go in the internet I use Opera 5.0 and for Emails logicmail. To connect to the internet, I changed my APN according to my provider setting:
apn: internet (thats for o2 Germany)
No authentification
Username/PW: blank
On the first day, everything worked just fine, Opera aswell as Logicmail. I also had a EDGE symbol in the upper right corner. On the second date I found, that Opera and logicmail would not connect via Wifi. So I started to play around with settings. Anyway, since then Opera and Logicmail refused to connect via EDGE, however Wifi worked.... I could not figure out the ressons, so I tried to undo my setting changes. And yesterday I was finally able to connect via EDGE again. And here is the funny thing: This morning, I got the same errors agian, when trying to connect via EDGE. I did not do anything with the phone last night, it just refuses to connect. It still shows me the edge sign, but opera always tells me, that it is unable to connect. I set the application application permisson for both programs to "prompt" under the point "internet" to see if the phone even tries to connect, but it does not. Wifi still works fine. It seems that my Blackberry forgot about EDGE and always wants to connect via wifi.Can anyone help me out here?
I bought my blackberry 8530 yesterday. I used the internet in a pub on WI-FI, but when I left the pub and tried to access the internet I can't. When I open the browser and type an address, it just says that I should be in a WI-FI zone and to check this, or something along those lines. How do I get onto the Internet without using WI-FI??? I am on a 30 day rolling contract with Orange who give me 500MB of internet as part of my bundle.

When I open "Manage Connections" I see a green check mark next to Mobile Network- Verizon Wireless and Wifi so I know it's connected. If I un-check the Mobile Network and wait for it to disable then reconnect it will work fine and all my e-mails and texts from the night get pushed through. I have great service at my house so I'm not sure why my phone keeps losing the data connection at some point during the night. I am running the latest OS .886 and this is my second 8530 "certified pre-owned device" as my first 8530 died. I also did a battery pull the first day I noticed this which re-connected the data but it happened again when I woke up the next morning.Has this happened to anyone else?

Well here is the scoop I switched from my curve to a samsung instinct for a couple of days to try out the touch screen.It was a friends phone.I didn't like it, it was way to simple I like my apps and stuff on my blackberry.So I called sprint today to switch my phone back to my blackberry.I can get calls make calls, however I cannot access the internet or set up my e mail.I have resent my service books and received nothing.When I go back into my setup wizard and say setup e mail it says your device had a problem connecting to the server.When I got to like facebook it says no connection.I just want to get back on my interenet and e mail.

But i started looking over the internet and saw that the new Curve 9300 might be released as early as august. I wondering should I like ask Virgin if they'll let me upgrade once it comes out since I just bought my phone or just return the phone and wait till the new curve comes out. On the other hand, it connects to any other network: ive successfully connected to many friends wireless and many restaurants' wireless without any problem. View 5 Replies View RelatedWith no internet or app usage my phone was to 30 percent after only a hour maybe a hour and half of usage. Not even close to the 4.5 hours of usage said. Complained to Verizon and getting the Tour 9630. Not too happy because i will be leaving the trackpad and i hear battery life on the tour is so so. I wanted the new bold but they wouldnt let me. But they said if my new phone gives me problems, then might get the bold. Either way i want a good phone with decent battery.
