Currently in Europe, trying to get my phone to work! have the network changed to global and I am signed up for a international plan, but where my signal bars usually are it says "SOS" in red.

But now, my tour will randomly disconnect from the wireless network and say it's "searching for CDMA" or when it does connect to the network, It won't connect to 1XEV, so I can't use data or anything. I've tried a battery pull and resending my service books but I'm still having this problem,

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have always had problems with these "network" emails that transmitt information: network@etp1008.etp.na.blackberry.net This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server. I use desktop redirector to send messages from Outlook to my blackberry. Sometimes I rarely receive these and other times I will have my blackberry and Outlook inbox folder FLOODED with multiple emails of this kind. Sometimes as many as 100 emails overnight. The only way I have found to bypass these messages is to create a folder in Outlook (I named it blackberry emails) and create a rule for all incoming messages from these addresses to filter them into this folder and set the folder to not sync with my blackberry. This is the only way I have found to NOT get flooded with these emails in my inbox and blackberry. Does anybody know of a better solution or rather why these emails are coming? I know they are supposed to dissapear, but they are not.

Seems to be pretty good so far.The weird thing I am seeing today is that whenever I do a battery pull (several times today re-registering apps) I get a email in the Message box saying something about registration on the network was successful.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy biggest complaint against BB was the ultra slow page load times that I would sit on the 'Requesting...' screen for ages and ages, sometimes refreshing it a few times it would finally get going to download the page. Well I went to Verizon today and talked withe tech he asked if I tried setting Mobile Network from Global to 1XEV. I said no and went ahead and did that, and wow what a difference. I was surfing on my BB for the past 30mins, the 'Requesting...' stays for less then 2 seconds before proceeding, the webpage seems to download faster, and it's so much better. I was also having the occasional issue where my antenna bars would suddenly disappear for a minute status would say 115dBm and then would popup back to 4-5 bars, that problem was resolved as well it seems. The tech at vzw said it was because in global the phone is alway searching to connect to both network or something.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi saw on kevin's Internet video about the blackberry messenger stress test that it said "crackberry.com" at the top where it would normally say the network's name. is there a way i can actually enter in what i want or at least have the network's name on there? it's really annoying to have that blank space there at the top of the screen. it looks awkward for me.

Clicked on Help and no sooner did Help launch the BB Browser and this message popped up "There is insufficient network coverage to process your request. Please try again later". I though the message might be Radio Companion specific, so I attempted to launch BB Browser directly. Immediately received the same message.

I changed the housing in my Tour to make it white but the trackball doesn't sit right and i have a problem scrolling down. I can't seem to get the trackball to sit properely in this housing its just not centered. If i can put a curve trackball in, which model curve do i use?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've developed a problem with my 9630 (carrier: Sprint) recently. I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).
Almost everytime I go to use the browser, or an application that uses the browser (such as Poynte) I either get the error that it can't be used because the radio is off (which it is not), or that there is insufficient network coverage at this time and to try again later. Needless to say this is getting VERY old. I do had Quickpull scheduled to run everynight at 8pm. I took it in to Verizon and the woman there was extreamly unhelpful. The device itself is about 2 months old. I've searched the forums and found nothing like this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo just in the last few days my phone has started having some issues. I got a Powerbot wireless charger(PB1020) about the same time I got my phone at release. It's worked fine , and still does as far as I know. But know, after my phone is fully charged, when I remove it from the charger it's pretty warm(this is a new development, not really had it get very warn on the wireless charger before) and then it begins to connect and disconnect from the wifi repeatedly. I'm talking like every second it switches. I keep seeing people saying to turn off Smart Network Switch, but I did that the second day I had my phone, and it's still off, so obviously its something else.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've researched my problem on other posts, and still not completely sure if my problem is unique or not.I have an unlocked Sprint 9630 I grabbed from our IT department before a trip to Turkey. It was supposedly deactivated - turns out it is still active on a Sprint number.
I've replaced the Sprint SIM with an Avea Turkish prepaid SIM that has data and Blackberry capability. It works fine for phone and text, but no ability to register the email with Avea Blackberry. Tech support there unable to determine the problem (unable to connect to server is the error message, both with phone and online).If I can deactive the Sprint number will that help? Or am I just out of luck.
I have an issue with my BB Tour.When I woke up this mourning and took my bb off the charger.I notice there were HLhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhl type on my bb so I tried to press the esc button and the end button and it didn't work. So I did a Battery pull and let it load up...and that when i found out that my trackball wasn't working.then all a sudden it started to type the HLlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhlh again.So I did a another battery pull and it did it again.So I wiped the phone decided to install 5.0 on my phone and I get the same thing.The only thing I did before my phone went hay wire was a couple days prior.I downloaded a couple free themes and screen saver from BB App World.I thought by doing the battery pull and wipe I would fix it but didn't. I know I didn't get my phone wet or anything can anybody explain this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedThis is my third Tour (I just got this one a week ago) and with it sitting in my pocket where I have service, not running ANY applications, it is running hot and draining battery very quickly. Did a battery pull, double checked memory leaks, and nothing is taking care of it. It's draining at about 15% per hour. Any thoughts (other than Tours suck.)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just updated the software on my Blackberry Tour and now my calendar is behaving as it did two software generics ago! Specifically, when I change and appointment to a future date and then save that appointment, the calendar moves to that future date! This is terrible if you are moving several items out to future dates! Previously, the changed entry would just disappear from the screen (moved to the new, future date) and I would remain on the day I was working on.Secondly, when I open a future day in calendar, the “All Day Events” do not show first (as they used to). Instead you have to scroll up to see if there are any of these type events.Does anyone know of a way to change these settings/defaults.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust went from a storm 1 to a tour and I am loving it. I can't believe how much more app. memory I have!
However, I cannot get my tour device to show up in windows explorer. It connects and I can browse my media card. There is no drive in windows explorer for the device itself. I can connect to desktop manager and back-up my device memory so I know the computer can read my blackberry device. I upgraded the os with no problems.
I am running vista home premium with blackberry os 5.0 from sprint. I am on verizon. I do have mass storage mode enabled and all of those memory settings set to yes (auto connect, etc.). BBSAK and Blackberry Master Control Program see the device as well. I do not use roxio media manager and it is not installed with my desktop manager. It was too slow and clunky when I had my storm so I never bothered with it.
After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Tour and scratched up the bezel, and made the dumb decision to replace it. Long story short, I messed up switching over the buttons, and I stripped the screw putting it back in, so there's no going back to fix it. Now, when I press the keyboard lock button, it doesn't work. I figured out that I can hold down "A" on the homescreen to lock it, but now how do I unlock it?!
And PS: DON'T CHANGE YOUR HOUSING/BEZEL! I would much rather have a dinged up bezel than the situation I'm in now. Looks like I'm stuck with this Tour 'till December. I hope that people listen to my housing advice, and not be naive and ignore others like I did!
My Tour is 3 months old. Suddenly calls are dropping in the house and the battery charger is taking 10 hours to charge the spare OEM battery. Running the 5.0.419 and it's been fine. Verizon came out with theirs and it's so bad I went back to 419. Now I have an email from RIM saying new software for the phone is available but it doesn't say what version it is so I'm afraid to load it. Any one else have same issue? Phone was fine after going to the first 5.0 for 2 months but now after having changed from Verizon's 5.0. (been a month or so) the issues started about a week ago.
