BB Torch :: Get Distinctive Ringtones On Bluetooth?
Oct 8, 2010
how to make my disticntive ringtones play through my bluetooth? I know they can because, when I push the answer button on my bluetooth to answer a call, the last second or two before it answers the distinctive ringtone plays thru the bluetooth. If been thru all the settings related to the bluetooth, and the ringtones, but have not been able to find anything.
I just bought an LG Flare from Virgin Mobile, and I have the $25 month plan with unlimited text + web. My goal is to have custom ringtones in the phone. Here's what I've done so far:I went to www.ventones.com and created a free ringtone, and had them send it as a text to my phone, but that text never came.Ventones also gave me a weblink I could point my phone to. So I did that, but upon getting there my phone says "HTTP Error 406: Not Accepted".Now this got me thinking that maybe MP3 files were not supported. But it says on the box that you can have "real music ringtones" (although any format specification is carefully avoided), so maybe I can have music files, just not as plain downloads (must go straight to system ringtone folder). Then I downloaded BitPim. I don't have USB data cable for this yet, but I'm thinking of getting a $3 one from eBay. Meanwhile, I tried connecting it via bluetooth. Now, reports say that the LG Flare was manufactured with built in support for a number of Bluetooth Profiles, including SPP. However, my LG Flare has only HSP and HFP (with only HFP being recognized in Windows, and both HSP and HFP being recognized under Ubuntu).
So naturally I'm thinking that Virgin Mobile has somehow locked down the Bluetooth. While my primary goal is to get custom ringtones, this restriction intrigues me, and I'll be glad if anyone could help me either way. Because the bluetooth is locked down, it is also possible that the data cable won't help any. What I'm looking for are some unlocking mechanisms which can free this restriction. The phone has 8mb of memory! And I want to use it.
My blackberry wont ring or notify me of messges. I keep missing calls as i am getting no sound. I have checked the profile settings etc. I let vodafone know of my problems, so they sent me another handset (i backed up my old handset using the desktop software. My new hadset arived today, and I have restored all my data. I am still having the same problem.
I have successfully transfered my contacts and calendars from my Curve to my Torch 9810 using BB Desktop but I cant my ringtones also. Is there a way to do that with BB Desktop or another means?
I would need an advice from you. I have bought BB Torch 9810 yesterday and when I tried to synchronize music, I got duplicated entries. To avoid that I have erased all music in order to upload/synchronize them just once. Apparently, I have also deleted all ring tones, alert tones (low battery, disconnected, incoming email etc), simply all. Now Im getting error messages all the time.Is there any way how to recover these sounds back? Or do I need to reinstall something
Have had a BB Torch 9800 for about 15 months. Realised earlier this week (after a reboot, which may or may not be relevant) that the default wallpapers had all disappeared. Shortly after that, I realised all the default ringtones and sounds had gone too.
Tried to follow steps on another forum to reinstall sound files. One step was to "Browse to C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionSharedLoader Files(current device latest OS folder)Java" - problem being that when I navigate as far as C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionShared there is no LOADER FILES folder on my PC. I haven't consciously deleted this, so what the hell is going on?!
If I don't have the COD files on my PC, is there any way to restore the default sounds and wallpapers?
Would someone with the torch be able to tell me what the defaults are for the following on the device out of the box? 1) ring tone 2) new email alert 3) new sms/mms alert 4) new bbm msg alert 5) calendar reminder 6) voicemail alert
Ringtones for my contacts won't work if the handset (Torch 9800) is locked; the default/everyone else ringtone is used instead. When the handset isn't locked it works ok.
When a call come in, displays on screen but no tones are heard. Went to "change sounds and alerts", "phone ring tone" and it just comes back to same screen.
I'm looking for a way to make my own ringtones (pick song, choose section of song I want, etc.) or a site that has a ton of ringtones ready to DL for free. The ringtones section of crackberry is nice but the quality of some of the songs I want is not good.
I have converted everything that needs to be converted, and the songs i have chose are in my "Ringtones" section on my iPhone, but when i sync the songs they still do not come up in my phone..? any ideas on what to do
I cannot get a Bluetooth driver for my Torch 9800 so I can pair up with Windows 7. Windows says device driver missing, and I can't find one on the internet...
Been having an issue over the past several weeks with my Torch 980. It's currently running OS6.0 bundle 2647.
About every 3-4 times I use a Bluetooth device and disconnect it from the phone (usually by switching the device off) I am finding that the Torch will not disconnect from the device itself. The blue light continues to pulse, and if I look in the Bluetooth settings, it will still show that it's connected to the device. If I try to then disconnect the device in the Torch's setup, it is unable to complete the disconnection. The Torch is then not able to connect to any other device and the battery drains much quicker I suppose because it's using the bluetooth radio.
I've got 3 main Bluetooth devices I use with the Torch -- a Jabra headset, a RocketFish headset for cycling and a Belkin unit for handsfree in my car. This same behaviour happens with all three devices. It's random in that I can't reliably reproduce it -- generally happens every 3rd to 4th time I use a bluetooth device.
Only way to get it running normally again is to physically pull the battery. Even if I turn the device off and back on again, the blue light continues to blink and it still shows its connected to the device.
I have a torch phone and it will not allow me to turn my bluetooth on. I turn it on and it turns a light blue then when I check to see if it is working it isn't on. I recently did an update to the software and the problem seemed to occur right after this. I'm not sure the software updated correctly and I did reboot.
I am using the bluetooth handsfree built in at my car. They are paired with my blackberry and was working just fine until my phone alerted me that there was a software update to my phone and I have done it. Now my phone isnt auto connecting to the bluetooth hf and when I try to do it manually it says connection failed. Tried re pairing and no luck. My car is a land rover and my phone details are as follows:
I have a Blackberry Torch 9810 with OS 7. I dont know what happened but all of a sudden I am unable to send files through bluetooth. I cant see any option of bluetooth in the send options menu.
I tried to deseclect port service in the bluetooth options and saved it. Againg selected port service and saved it. I also restarted my device while doing this. But still I am unable to send files via bluetooth.
When I receive a call on my BlackBerry Torch 9800, the Bluetooth connection with my car (Mercedes E class) sometimes crashes and I end up fiddling with the phone to try to retrieve the call. It only does this sometimes and the connection was perfectly OK with other phones. Making calls and downloading the address book all work fine.
I am unable to pair my device to my new Ford vehicle SYNC bluetooth system. When I search for the pin number that SYNC sends me and I enter that number into the block the block directly under the pin number block reads "empty" so I have no way to send back to SYNC the pin they have sent me in order to pair my device to the SYNC system in my vehicle
I'm having a problem to receive file on my torch because I does'nt have the option "receive via bluetooth" on my Blackberry torch. I'm on the 6.0.0.448 version. I'm a new user of the blackberry torch and I love it, except for this problem.
p.s. I'm french, so excuse me if it is not correctly writen
I do not have the send function on my device to send a media file via bluetooth. I have a Blackberry Torch, and my carrier is MTN South Africa.Example: I have a number of media files that I have dowloaded but when I try to send these from my device to another there is no send function available via the menu.

I can see all the devices on the laptop, and on each device I can see the laptop.
I recently switched from a Bold 9000 to a new Torch 9800 with the new OS 6.0. On my Bold I could set one ringtone for In Holster @ one volume and a different ringtone @ a different volume for Out Of Holster within the same profile. So far this seems impossible with the new operating system. Seems I can only set one ringtone and one vibrate for each profile. Am I missing something?
